Aquanzi Lodge is an absolute gem within very easy reach of Johannesburg. Security is first class. The staff led by the most wonderful Natalie are all absolutely delightful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room, a little lodge on its own, was nothing short of absolute luxury. Every detail, including the bar, was so carefully thought about and immaculate. Breakfast by the pool was very special. The pools (yes two) were divine. One to swim with a Hippo I named Morris after a local man who was so welcoming with his partner. It was a retreat for me and I was looked after so wonderfully. Don’t bother with a modern hotel in town place. Go here. It’s also incredibly well priced and amazing value.

From the minute we walked through the gates at Aquanzi Lodge we knew we had stumbled across something special, Natalie and all her staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation was rustic coming from the UK we hadn't had experience anything like it, this was all part of the African experience for us, the accommodation was fantastic our huge bed was amazing, we both slept extremely well, Breakfast, offered superb choices I had an omelette every morning which was extremely tasty. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towel. The pool area was clean and immaculate. We will definitely be returning and telling our friends about this place.

We liked the gas heater - lovely and really warm! The linen was of exceptionally high quality and new and soft. The Persian rugs were a nice touch as was the artwork.

The room was very dark indeed but I'm not sure what could be changed here as the flooring, many walls and furnishings are all very dark and the thatch roof and small windows makes it seem dingy. The shower was adequate but not really that hot and the water was not very abundant. We were surprised that Ricoffy was served in the tea/coffee station and would have preferred actual coffee.

This was my first trip to South Africa and it was exactly how I imagined to be. The Lodge is run by a lovely family with staff who provide excellent service. It is situated outside the city which was perfect as we were looking for a quiet and all-in-all place. The host upgraded us to a honeymoon suite, as it was our honeymoon, which was stunning. If you are looking for African style stay, this is your place.

Nothing whatsoever it was amazing

The breakfast was great especially outside next to the pool, watching the wide variety of bird life. Such a beautiful location very close to Lanseria Airport!

The coffee in the rooms. Such a magnificent venue to serve Ricoffee when you wake up was very disappointing. a Nespresso machine would have been great, but even Nescafé coffee appose to Ricoffee would have been better.

I loved how the staff and owner treats us with so much respect... The food is so tasty and well cooked. And the staff is so friendly. The cleanliness in that place is exceptional and people are allowed to move around freely.

Very, very clean, decor is stunningly tasteful and beautiful, gardens are a dream. The bathroom decor was too beautiful. Very cozy, quiet, and most of all relaxing. I enjoyed all the bird sounds and peacefulness whilst sitting around the pool area. I took great delight in the beach sand around the pool area, felt like I was sitting at the beach surrounded by nature. The fact that I didn’t need to travel far for an experience made it so worthwhile.

Everything about this place was just perfect man. I think i went during off peak (towards end of November 2024) and it was so quiet. Just want my bf and i needed after a crazy year. It’s also secluded but also not far from amneties. Perfect. Uber easily accessible aswell!

Honestly, nothing.

The staff were very friendly, and the host, Natalie, was very welcoming. The rooms were cleaned to perfection and our self-catering Suite was very well stocked with the necessary utensils. It was a very restless stay.

My only advice would be to have microwave food plate covers so that the microwaves stay clean.

The place is well looked after. Attention to detail with friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the executive suite, which was private and tranquil. Clean and neat, fully equipped self-catering. Loved this place and will be visiting again.

Nothing, actually. Just a braai grid to fit into the braai area as we only had a braai grill, which was small and too close to the fire.
