failed to pay attention to detail. welcome letter in my room was addressed to someone else🫠 requested an extra blanket TWICE but never received it, even though it should’ve already been in the room per room guide book. spa phone went unanswered the entire time, didn’t get to make a booking

This place was truly amazing. We spent about a week at the lodge and had the best time. The staff were extremely pleasant and even ended up building a few good relationships with some of them. A lot of the previous reviews mention that the food is really good, and YES, it is really good. The spa treatment was also very good. If you really want a full experience, carry some smart casual clothes for dinner, it really elevates the mood in this establishment. Oh and if you want a room that opens up onto the lake then get the Executive Suite. It looked like the other rooms either didnt have direct access to any of the lakes and/or had other rooms or bushes and trees blocking the views of the lake and mountains.

Spending about a week at the lodge allowed us to get a full experience of their service delivery. Buffet dinner is only served when the lodge has a certain number of guests at the establishment, else it is À la carte. The À la carte menu is quite unique and if you are someone that only eats chicken, good luck to you. The À la carte menu was very good though, just in terms of size and in comparison to the buffet, in my opinion it wasnt all that worth it ( i prefer the informality of a buffet compared to luxurious dining) If you are interested in the buffet breakfast and dinner, I suggest you book around a long weekend or around any period in which lodges get a lot of traffic.

Layout around the hotel was beautiful & grounds were well maintained. Very much liked the Lodge style accommodation. Water features. Birdlife. Liked the natural swimming pool near cabins. Excellent Food beautifully presented. Fabulous staff. Animals near the entrance. Spa treatments.

I thought there would be animals nearer to the accommodation or more in evidence. The balcony decking was loose with bolts sticking up. Certain bridges & steps were in need of repair. Wooden blind was broken & didn’t close fully so light disturbed in morning. Ladies Steam Room in Spa was out of commission. Dress standard referred to in Hotel’s Room Guide was not enforced as shorts & tee shirts were sadly allowed at Dinner.

Facilities were good. Spa experience was excellent . Fishing facilities were great fun

The entire experience was spoiled at the end when we went for lunch at the Bistro before departing. After waiting 35 minutes for our meal I asked for an update and was told it would still be ‘about another 20 minutes’. When asked why no one told us this the manager proceeded to say that they they ‘get distracted’ when busy. I asked for the drinks bill (had to wait a while for that too) and with not so much of an apology, we left. If the bistro cannot handle a crowd they should not acccept patrons. After such a great weekend with all the other experiences, this left a completely sour taste.

Dinner was exceptional! Breakfast was great. Clean room with very comfortable bed We had a superb experience with massages at the spa. Awesome location with beautiful landscapes. Sense of security. Checking in and checking out experience smooth.

The damp smell in the shower was unbearable. We had to resort to using the outside shower. Loud music and screams from party revelers until we complained at 23H00. Air conditioner did not work. Vibration and noise from plumbing pipes on the unit next door was disturbing, especially late at night.

Food was excellent. Facilities was neat and clean. Spa and staff was great. Room was comfortable and we loved the outside shower.

We went there for our 33st wedding anniversary, and I ask for champagne, a bouquet of flowers and a pamper pack to be delivered to our room after our spa and session. When we got back, there was no flowers, pamper pack or champagne. I had to phone reception, only to find out that they got the instruction to set it up in our room during dinner. And when they brought it to the room, they delivered wine and rose pebbles with a sad bouquet of flowers with a dead rose stem in between the bouquet. The rose pebbles was a nice touch all over the room. Only after another phone call to reception, we finally received the champagne. Still no pamper pack. We made the best of the situation, as old married couples mos do. 😜

The location is perfect and provides for a tranquil and private getaway. The views from the executive suites and the restaurant are stunning! I must also commend the Ops Manager at the restaurant, Moses Zulu. While I had experienced a temporary lapse in service on Saturday evening with my dinner service being delayed; he was very open minded when I brought this to his attention and he displayed exceptional professionalism and ensured that I received excellent service for the remainder of my stay! Mishaps happen to the best of us… it is how Moses and his team ensured that they correct the situation and how they displayed and ensured I experience the service that I’d read about in reviews prior to deciding on a stay at Kloofzicht that impressed me. Their attention to detail and efforts were indeed exceptional!

The furniture in the suites, the carpet and the bathroom & shower tiles are quite dated and are in desperate need of refreshing/renewal. To Lodge management, please use this feedback as an opportunity to elevate the property offering and the overall customer experience.

A very beautiful property surrounded by nature, with great rooms. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent, with high quality. The staff was overall very friendly, particularly the housekeeping team, the reception staff, and the gentleman behind the counter at the breakfast buffet. We will definitely come again!

However, the entire facility is a bit dated and could benefit from some minor renovations, especially in the pool area and wooden staircases. The staff (waiters) during the set dinner and breakfast were somewhat unfriendly. They reacted curtly to questions and seemed impatient when we were unsure about how the buffet/menu worked. I would have expected more friendliness.

Breakfast buffet is a must. Rooms are overly satisfactory. I do feel it's the perfect winter destination. Its a campfire experience that you would enjoy, its just way too hot in summer and the rooms are overly big for the air-cons to really make much of an impact

The air-cons in the rooms aren't strong enough to really make a difference. That or our air-con just wasn't working as it should... There isn't really much to watch on TV and even though they have smart TVs they seem to have disengaged the buttons on the remotes to allow you to stream content on your streaming accounts, which means your stuck with the pre programmed channels they made available. which also seemed to be pre recorded stuff streaming from a hub or USB stick of sorts.
