As always Tropicana will never disappoint you, the rooms are always clean to the satisfaction, the house keeping do their work selflessly at all times. The breakfast is always the best and there is variety on the breakfast buffet, well prepared food with good taste-thanks to the chef and well displayed food with labels, and the staff helping at the buffet always display smile and ready to help at all times, the manager doing great work at all times making sure you are comfortable with waitrons who are all out to serve and help at any given time while you are enjoying your breakfast. 10/10

I would not like to say this but I have to: 1. The lifts are always having problems, the other lift for the duration of my stay could not open on floor no 5, at least put a note so the guest can know instead of struggling. 2. This time I struggled with the door again, opening Room 714 is a bit of a struggle, everything is perfect about the room but the door!! * There is a renovation taking place in the hotel, I suspect they are putting in tiles, it will be good to let the guest nearby know so that they can work on their meetings or maybe they want to rest, the Ladies at the front desk did everything to make sure that I get a nice place for my Zoom Meeting but I was 15 minutes late, just a note to the guest and it will be fine.

The food breakfast was the best. I give chef and the staff stars.

Noise the noise was too much our room was facing the parking bay, people where grooving in their cars all night long . I think you need to be there if you are in the groove mode not relaxation.

This was our first trip to Durban and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel than the Gooderson Tropicana Hotel ! The staff were exceptional from the security, to reception, housekeeping and waiting staff .Everyone made our stay memorable! My son even received a lovely letter from the Guest Relations Manager,wishing him good luck with his Karate Tournament! Breakfast in the morning is exceptional .with the chefs making your fried eggs, omelette etc right in front of you to your liking along with the variety of sausages,hot food , cereals,fruit and pastries on display,juice and hot beverages .You are definitely spoiled for choice ! Room service from Clippers was delicious !! The location and views are breathtaking- with a short distance to Ushaka and within walking distance to the beach, Gooderson Tropicana is a hidden Gem ! Thank you thank you thank you for everything you do ! Keep up the Amazing work !! We look forward to returning next year !

Unfortunately the elevator broke down ,which is out of there control. With that being said they made every effort to accommodate us and had a plan B :)

the rooms are spacious, the breakfast was tasty and enough, the staff is extremely friendly too. The location of the hotel is perfect especially when travelling with kids.

Consider changing the carpets and install tiles as my little one are allergic to carpets.

We enjoyed the breakfast and the view was great my kids really enjoyed 😉

I think you need to change check in time we arrived in durban at 6:30 in the morning on Friday from Johannesburg and we had to stay outside the hotel to wait for 2pm for check in time and they must also have microwave in rooms.

The breakfast buffet was so perfect, it's what we needed before the start of our day.

The lifts, kept on not working now and then, definitely needs to be fixed

Our phone was taken from the couches at the reception by one of the guest at the hotel, they where to help us locate the person, and we found the phone. The rooms are very clean. The hotel is just a walk to the beach. The breakfast is superb. The receptionist are friendly.

When we where supposed to check in, the rooms where not ready. I wasn't aware that visiting this place during school holidays is a bad idea, it was packed, we had to wait some time to eat breakfast because it was full. They don't have enough eating areas to accommodate large number of guests for breakfast.

The hotel, hospitality and being close to the beach. Oh , the understanding of the staff for my toddlers during breakfast and assuring me that the hotel is family hotel and since I have booked for breakfast my toddlers can enjoy their breakfast also.

That from Tuesday the breakfast was no longer a buffet but we had to order as if we were in a restaurant of which I booked for breakfast because of the buffet. I felt robbed as I could have booked for room only and go to spurs, Macdonald etc for breakfast. Therefore please specify which day are buffet for one to choose those days or exclude breakfast.
