Breakfast was average. We enjoyed Omellete.

The room that was allocated for us when we arrived was smelling so bad like the carpet was wet. There was no fringe. The Aircon was not working. It was a hustle getting this sorted out we had to do a lot of follow ups and explaining that we are tired from travelling we want to rest. It was finally sorted out. We then asked for water at the reception and there wasn’t any, we went to restaurant to get the bottles of water and asked to be delivered to the room as it was too hot and we have been doing up and down trying to sort the room but they told us we need to pay extra for water to be bought to our room. We ended up taking the heavy bucket full of water bottles by our self. I mean we just girls 🥺. But then from there everything else was fine, after changing the room we were happy.

The rooms were clean, if anything didn’t work (like our Aircon) they fixed it quickly and without hesitation. A huge shout out to the receptionist as I had an urgent need to extend my stay and not only did they extend my stay but I managed to keep my room which was a huge plus as they gave me a complementary upgrade the night before.

If you order room service there is a compulsory R50 delivery fee regardless of what you order. I feel this was a bit of a let down as my order was over R300 so I feel that if I had ordered a drink sure but not when you order 2 meals and drinks. That’s just not right

Room was very clean and modern , facilities were exceptional

My AC stopped working after the second day . the drain in my shower had a stench , it went after the maintenance team came out. it started again 2 days later . the need to come to reception every night after spending the day out so they can sort my key out. I was unable to enter my room as I was told that everytime I leave the premises for 30mins or longer , my card deactivates . I find this feature terrible as no person comes to Umhlanga to spend time in their room and never leave . also I had a baby with me and it made it very difficult to then come to reception with a sleeping child .

everything but the food in room service menu. it’s very mediocre

gentleman at checkout. the amount of attitude he gave my husband when my husband asked for the balance of the credit we’d put down for our expenses during the stay. if you have a video please watch it. firstly, saying we can’t get a refund we’ll have to use the balance the next time we stay at one of your establishments and then giving it back when a customer insists on it smells very very fishy, especially when you were not told at check in when you paid the credit that it’s non refundable. it just makes your establishments come across as shady!

The hotel is so stunning, amazing location, we had the view of the ocean from our room. We only had lunch there and the food was really good, especially the fries. My cocktail was also made to perfection. We had a short stay so we didn't get to experience much but definitely booking this hotel our again the next time we in Durban. The bathtub was also a surprise, we did not expect our room to have one at that price.

We couldn't get early check in unfortunately.

How the aircons are installed. The air from the aircons could not circulate properly due to the position where aircons are installed. And also the fact that there were no towel holders installed. No soap holders on the baths.

I was moved to a move comfortable room and the staff were accommodating and friendly to us. The second room was so clean especially the bathroom and the cleaning staff always came in to tidy up our room every day. The room service meals were delicious! The sea view was lovely as well. We felt safe and very comfortable with the neatness overall.

The first room was very dusty and caused my allergies to start. The bathroom had a bit of mould. However upon bringing it to the hotel’s attention they moved us to a much better room and we were very happy for the duration of the stay. The breakfast was not very nice. The omelette I had requested had the ingredients still raw on the inside and the muffins and buns were hard and stale. The price is definitely not worth the breakfast buffet.. coffee was not included in the price.

Everything is of a proper standard. I made some mistakes during my booking process which landed me a room I did not want. I was assisted on this and got upgraded as such (complimentary) although I had to spend the 1st night in that room I booked by mistake. I stayed for 5 nights and that was nothing short of amazing. Everything I needed was made available, the facilities are in good condition, my room was proper.

The cold breakfast was a serve yourself buffet that was great but the hot breakfast in lukewarm buffet style horrible idea. Everything hot was lukewarm and never prepared and presentation fell flat on its face because what do you pair with what completely up to you, nope that was a BIG let down. And let me not forget the part were we paid for our room to include breakfast then end up not having a table for breakfast and the staff was unbothered to correct the isssue. Hai Wow when an iron was requested it just either delivered in two hours later if it ever arrived at all

The place is gorgeous! 😍 It's just like the pictures. The breakfast was a buffet and had a variety of options, all delicious. Most of our encounters with the staff was friendly, and reception is always helpful when you call them, exceptional response time.

There was a staff member that was openly rude when we requested to have our breakfast in the room, she gave us attitude when delivering it, we were uncomfortable with that encounter. Otherwise the rest of the staff were friendly. It's about 25 minutes from the North Beach.
