The setting is quite unique - wonderful gardens and on the bank of Sabie River with Hippos and Elephants visiting each day from the other bank which is already Kruger SAN Park. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to Paul Kruger Gate, just a 20min drive to enter the park

We had a "luxory tent" which had no fridge. So fruit and milk for the coffee could not be refrigerated and each and every beer / wine / soda had to be carrried from the bar to the room. That we felt as entirely unnecessary and not really helpful. Breakfast and evening dinner was just okay, other lodges offer better quality

The pool with a view of hippos and elephants was incredible. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were all very friendly and nice. The room was a bit dark, but it was clean and comfortable. Mosquito net over the bed was a great addition. 15-20mins drive from the gate into Kruger Park.

We were unhappy with our game drives that we booked through Sabie Bush lodge. We were not impressed with the behaviour of the tour guide in the park. We gave our feedback and hope he has improved for future guests as his behaviour ruined our stay for us. Otherwise it would have been a great low cost place to stay in Kruger.

The bush tent 1 and room 1 were both comfortable and clean. The separate bathroom and kitchen for the bush tent were clean and well equipped. The views of the river were exceptional. The staff were extremely friendly, professional and willing to go out of their way to help even going as far as to go to the shop to buy milk for us. There were lots of personal touches such as washing the cars in the morning as a courtesy service which was such an amazing service.

The location close to the main road. Staying in a bush tent meant there was no sound insulation and we could hear the sound of the traffic at all hours.

The hotel is excellent value for money. Just off the main road but gives the illusion of being in a game lodge in the middle of the bush. Let’s face it though we are all here for the excellent proximity to Kruger. Fifteen minutes from either of two gates to Kruger made drives very simple. We were apprehensive about our first self drive as opposed to guided tour but it really is very straightforward and with the affordability of hiring a hilux double cab 4X4 about £50 per day from Hoedspruit airport saving transfer costs and self drive safaris being £25 per car plus £25 per person conservation fees it works out at £175 all in for a family of 4 for a full day safari. The train restaurant in Kruger is worth a visit. We stayed in a cabin which suited our purposes well and is a comparable price to two tents. There aren’t loads of animals queuing to get to the water as there would be at a waterhole inside the park but there are fairly reliable hippos which made it a joy to get up early and wait for their arrival. Daily car washing is a bonus. Laundry service helps reduce luggage requirements. The bar is easy to miss being above the restaurant but is a lovely place to sit and watch the river.

I booked an airconditioned tent overlooking the Sabie River, where hippos were frolicking, and an elephant came to drink right after I checked in. The staff was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the location was good. It was a 15-minute drive to Paul Kruger gate of the Kruger park. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was very good.

The lighting could have been a little better in the tent, and the polished concrete floor could be slippery. It may be helpful to cut away some of the branches in front of the sign that signals one kilometer to the lodge when coming from Kruger. It is a little overgrown, so the turn-off is unexpected.

We had a great time at Sabie River Bush lodge. The lodge is in a great location c30 minutes drive from either the Kruger of Phanebi gate. Every day we were there elephants visited the river which was really atmospheric. The staff were extremely helpful and the food really nice (changed every night and the chef clearly put a lot of work into the presentation / variety). The game drives themselves were also excellent, with the guides (our guide was called France) working hard to identify animals and giving us good information on things we saw. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

The restaurant offers a stunning view by the river, creating a serene and picturesque dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the hippos as they swam and playfully 'laughed,' adding a unique charm to our visit. The food was not only delicious but also healthy and expertly prepared, showcasing attention to detail and quality. A truly delightful and serene experience!

The room has a charming vintage feel, and it's clear we're nestled deep in the bush, which adds a unique character to the experience. While I personally wasn't a fan of the rustic vibe, my partner absolutely loved the authenticity and connection to nature it offered.

The staff in the lodge is very professional and helpful. The reception gentleman is courteous. The manager Candice is very easy reachable and kept communication with us all the time. The breakfast has a lot of varieties and every night there is a different menu for dinner, 3 courses and very tasty. We had wonderful game drive with France. And also did the Blyde River Canyon tour with Patrick. Both were impressive and both of them are knowledgeable and professional.

There's no TV in the room but this is understandable.

The staff members were great and always on hand to help. Everyone tried their very best to ensure we had a comfortable stay throughout. The receptionist, the security team, the restaurant staff, the cleaners, the game tour guides were all part of a team that sought to make the trip memorable. Kudos to all.

The WIFI was quite weak throughout the lodge. We were compelled to use data from other local networks which could have been avoided if we had access to stronger WIFI.

Has the potential to be a beautiful place but the soul is missing. The pool was so green that it was not inviting at all, and my plan was to use it but we just couldn't. The food in the evening was very average and the big umbrella tree on the deck nearly took out my eye with his big thorns, the branches are not cut back. I could loose there my eyesight it was a dramatic experience. Rhinos are there but you must be out at 5 in the morning to see them. The size of the room is minimal and it was for that a bit overcharged.
