The location is fantastic, perfectly situated for exploring the area, and close to the ocean and golf course. The room was beautifully appointed, clean, and incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with a wonderful variety of options to choose from. What truly sets The Whale on Main apart is the exceptional service. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Their attention to detail and genuine care made my stay truly memorable. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I highly recommend The Whale on Main B&B to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay."

Our room was huge. There was plenty of storage space. The bed was extremely comfortable and large. Plenty of charging space next to the bed and around the room. Our room had a huge balcony that looked onto the back of the property and had a wonderful view of the mountains. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample breakfast on either morning due to being up early. But Zeno very kindly got up early with us one morning and made us coffee and offered us some yoghurt. This was so kind and much appreciated. The hosts were so lovely, friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I left a pair of trousers in the ironing room to iron on my return and the fantastic housekeeper had done this for me. Which was so lovely and kind. There was plenty of car parking and very easy to get in and out of the guest house. Beautiful property. Just a shame we were only there for 2 nights. If we are ever back in Hermanus we will definitely return.

The hospitality was exceptional, and friendly. We felt warmly welcomed as you would do with your close relatives. The breakfast was astonishing.

The ambient temperature was a little too cool to feel well comfortable. Of course, this is limited to the cold outside temperature period, which is probably only few days in the year.

Tanya and her team were fantastic, providing us with a friendly and professional experience. The breakfast was awesome, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location is great for accessing everything you need during your stay.

Very friendly reception - a safe environment in Hermanus. Great breakfast and super welcoming hosts. Rooms are of good size and have comfortable beds. Great stunning cliffs are just 5 minutes footwalk away.

Only disadvantage is the situation to restaurants. It takes a 20 minutes walk to reach the downtown area, where a great selection of restaurants is situated. Part of the walk is at the water side, but a part also on the busy street.

The entire experience from check-in to departure was done with great professionalism and attention to detail, the host makes you feel at home from when they come and welcome you to their guesthouse on arrival. The breakfast choices are great and the food is freshly prepared for you.

Tanja was fantastic, she gave us the best highlits and made us better comprehend the real southafrican soul. We admired the fine architecture and interior design of the house. The breakfast is rich, with a complete mix of sweet and non-sweet dishes

Loved staying at the Whale on Main B&B, it felt like home away from home, no crowds, no noisy people and no queue's for breakfast one experiences when staying at a hotel. The hosts Zeno and Marlene are extremely hospitable and attentive to their guests from the moment you arrive explaining everything. Options of what you would like for breakfast is placed in the room that you can select from and at what time you would like breakfast, you drop off your selection at the front desk and in the morning the hosts already know what to prepare for you. The hosts are so attentive and well organized, you do not wait very long for your breakfast to arrive, they really run like a well oiled machine whilst making ones stay so comfortable and homely. The home is modern and the rooms and bathrooms are great in size, modern, clean and airy. The location is great and in close proximity to everything. I will certainly be comming back for more stays.

There is nothing I did not like, I loved everything that the Whale on Main had to offer and Zeno and Marlene are great hosts.

The place was extremely clean and beautiful!! The owners were so kind and showed a great hospitality to take care of me. There were some magazines and the local newspaper, which I really enjoyed. The special treat drink was provided for free. No other place cared about those little things.

I wished the check-out time would be a little later than 10:00am.

Outstanding. The host is so welcoming and kind and very helpful with information on the local and wider area. The decor is gorgeous and immaculate throughout. Breakfast is amazing, and the rooms are huge.
