I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Selkirk House. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The accommodation itself was not only impeccably clean but also beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Each morning, I was gently awakened by the soothing sounds of birdsong, which added to the peaceful ambiance. The attention to detail in every corner of the house was impressive, and the stunning surroundings only enhanced the experience. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing helpful local tips and making us feel like part of their family. This has been the best accommodation we’ve experienced in South Africa, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a perfect getaway with lovely people and a serene environment, Selkirk House is the place to be!

Fabulous venue with great sea and mountain views. Celia is the perfect host and so evervesant in her approach to each day, giving great guidance and recommendations for the area and other parts of SA. We felt as if we were her family rather than paying guests. The extensive rooms and facilities are above and beyond expectations. Breakfast was 10/10 , so much choice and quality, we can't wait to return.

Celia was very responsive and had everything we needed when we arrived. She was helpful, warm and welcoming but completely unintrusive. The property is warm and comfortable with a lovely energy and very well decorated We loved that there were many different areas available for guests to relax, both inside and outside The honesty bar is a winner and the liberal availability of the facilities was appreciated The rooms are different, but all are extremely comfortable and well equipped. Shower pressure is perfect!

The accomodation was sensational. Celia and her team run a great operation and pay attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble and we found the experience perfect. The rooms were well thought out and none adjoined another, having a lounge/library inbetween, that eradicates any potential noise. Celia was a warm, knowledgeable, personable and professional host. We could not find anything that we did not like.

Everything was excellent, the room is spacious and the bathroom is amazing with both bathtub and shower . The manager of the hotel was also so sweet showing us the room and giving us advices for where to go and taking care of the breakfast as well. I recommend anyone that goes to Hermanus to stay on this hotel, if I ever come back to Hermanus this is where I will stay without a second thought.

We had a trully wonderful time and enjoyed warm hospitality, professional service, elegant rooms and sumptuous decor. Our suite was so well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast included many cooked options and delicious cold buffet. The house nests at the foot of a hill in a classy residential neighbourhood just a few minutes drive to all the local attractions. This place has a lovely vibe and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Selkirk House is located in a quiet neighborhood yet close to all shops, dining and tourist attractions of Hermanus. The property is very well presented with very spacious and well appointed rooms and shared spaces. Hosts are welcoming and extremely accommodating with late arrivals and food preferences. I will certainly return and recommend highly to people visiting Hermanus and looking for a luxurious home from home experience.

I stay here regularly and it always feel like at home. Now when winter is coming and very difficult to find a warm place to stay!!! Selkirk house is your best choice. Breakfast here is a separate story!!! The most delicious and healthy breakfast!!! The host Celia is the most professional and kind host I ever knew!!! She can foresee what you really need on this moment!!! Very friendly and caring personal.

Large room with luxurious bathroom, double showers AND a separate bath. Really beautiful. All amenities you would need, coffee/tea, fridge etc. Beautiful decorated and spacious extra (shared) livingroom and several outdoor patios. Did not use the pool, since it was too cold outside. But then, the people: Celia and Leonore, so friendly, so nice and helpful. And the breakfast… Fruit, salmon, avo, yoghurt, English…you name it. A solid 10
