Lovely location. The hotel was a bit disappointing. The main stair case has a mirror which reflected a wheel chair and luggage trolley whenever you came up and down the stairs. This was not an attractive site and spoilt the standard of the hotel. Our bedroom was a lovely size but the mattress was not that comfortable. In fact I landed up having back ache from it. I didn’t love the fact that the pool is very internal which means there’s no view of the sea when you’re relaxing at the pool. Breakfast is good with lots of choices. It was a good hotel but not amazing. Def have stayed in better places for that money.

An ultimate sea view. Exceptional guest experience. All staff, GM as well as assistant GM was always around, never in a rush, always attentive and go the x-tra mile. Breakfast is extroadinary. Dinner menu was a lovely balance between fine dining but portions that are very generous. The chef eagerly provided his recipe for two of the devine dishes we had..what an exceptional local 5-star experience....this ovbiously needs ongoing and consistent management to keep this quality level at all areas of the establishment. Thank you!!

The fact that we had to leave after 4 days' being spoiled

The staff are truly the best asset at the hotel. Bed is super comfortable and excellent bedding as expected. Mini bar that is included in night one. Great views from both restaurants. We had dinner one night and it was excellent. The spa is okay. I'd use it again for sure, but nothing memorable. The arrival drinks were a nice touch and when I asked for a pina colada this was quickly catered to. Thanks Bianca! We were offered a room upgrade, and the views were great. Not sure I'd do it again as we spent a lot of time in the common areas, all of which have amazing views. A makeup cloth in the bathroom was a great touch. Especially since I forgot mine at home. Close to Hemel en Aarde valley wine route. Also a mini mall in walking distance. Great restaurants too! Great boutique hotel.

Parking is troublesome, as restaurant guests use the same lot and it's not big. The security always made a plan though. Besides the two 350ml bottles of water at turn down, no other water is provided beyond day 1. I find this ludicrous for a 5 star hotel in South Africa. I exchanged mini bar items for water. A la carte breakfast options are very good, but the continental buffet was a bit meh. Security presence on the trail side was a bit thin. Some men had an altercation close to the wall and no security in sight. We didn't report it as we are locals and it takes a bit more to scare us off, but it was not pleasant to observe.

We absolutely loved our stay and we were treated so well. I would like to give an especial mention of the wonderfully helpful response that Melissa, manager, gave us when I asked if we could move to a larger room. I am partially disabled and use a cane and my husband's arm, and there wasn't enough room to get around. She immediately organized a beautifully spacious suite, with lovely furniture, at the same rate. I was so contented to just stay at the hotel, watching the sea, spotting whales, and resting up. We are home now and feel greatly restored.

We liked everything. The staff were all efficient, helpful and friendly. The dining room experience included tasteful comfortable surroundings and delicious food.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful hotel with exceptionally attentive and friendly staff. Our room was furnished to a very high standard and was very comfortable. There was a terrace area outside our ground floor room where we could enjoy a pre dinner drink and the restaurant was excellent with a good choice of dishes and an extensive wine list. We would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

We had no complaints at all. On one occasion a minor problem in our room was remedied quickly and willingly to our complete satisfaction.

We were in room 230. Beautiful views of the ocean, corner unit at the far end of the building separate sofa sitting area and large bed in adjoining room. Nice full bathroom with bath looking to ocean and shower. It had a small balcony with chairs and table looking down the coast and ocean, great room. Breakfast very good a la carte and buffet with a Bloody Mary cart setup, nice touch. Cliff trail is right out front the touristy restaurants a block walk away. View Point on the trail 3 blocks way. Protected pool area. Nice main bar and outside seating with ocean views to look for whales. Secure guarded parking and he washed my car, thanks. Thank you Motion and to all in the bar (motion you are now a friend) who helped me learn a few sisutu words, and add to the ixihosa ones I new, it was a good laugh! Food in the restaurant very good. Across the trail from Bientangs a nice on the waves restaurant to try. Beautiful spot to stay in Hermanus, we would definitely stay again.

The ac did not work very well in our room, in fact could not cool it at all when it got hot from the sun; we opened the windows to feel the ocean breeze, but could be a problem in bug season no screens on windows

Stunning location! Wonderful staff! This ranks as one of my favourite hotels ever! Overlooking the bay where whales blow and breech before your very eyes. We were privileged to have stayed in room 226 which has a small balcony with seats! We spent several pleasurable hours watching south right whales frolicking in the bay! Amazing, emotional, spectacular - I run out of superlatives. Wonderfully comfortable hotel with kind, attentive staff and so thoughtful when you’ve got a celebration to share. Huge ‘shout out’ to Bianca Goosen, one of the senior staff members who made sure our stay was memorable! And it so was! Thank you!

I honestly struggled to find fault with this wonderful hotel. I wish we’d stayed longer and I do hope others will get as much joy from staying here as we did!

Our room was awesome! Great view of the water! Saw a whale while sitting on our balcony🥰 Breakfast was superb… so many excellent choices, cold buffet and the hot items off the menu. Also had a nice lunch and very nice dinner in the dining room right by the windows so had a great view while enjoying our meal. Had a wonderful massage. The staff from the entry point , to the check in to the always attentive servers while dining were superb! Real bouquet of flowers in our room!! Loved it! Can’t say enough great things about this hotel! Don’t hesitate to book it.

The Marine is a superb Hotel in a central location of Hermanus with stunning views of the bay. The breakfast menu is excellent with lots of exciting variations and included an outstanding continental breakfast. We stayed in a standard double room which was very comfortable, with kingsize bed, separate bathroom and clean. The bar, lounge and especially the dining room are a delightful. The swimming pool with sun loungers are very well maintained and a great place to relax after a day out exploring all that Hermanus and surrounding wineries has to offer. We loved out stay and will definitely return.
