Just advice housekeepers to be respectful to knock three times atleast before entering … or rather create marks to alert people that we are in and not out. The house keeper just knocked once and opened disrespecting privacy 😭

The location was great as it was close to all the amenities and services I needed to access. The staff were absolutely brilliant, always so friendly and always willing to help

First 5 days the aircon was not working properly and made the room very hot. The pillows were not great and I actually had to purchase my own pillows and the bed was hard. Curtains look like they were not cleaned in many years.

I liked everything about the place - I enjoyed my 2-day stay. Prior to this hotel, I had been to 2 and this one has been the best so far. The TV had everything, it was like I was watching from home -Youtube, Showmax, Netflix, DStv and more. Microwave and refridgerator was a cool top-notch inclusion. Swimmimg pool, Gym and breakfast upon request in the morning was cool. This hotel should be 5-star.

My partner was worried that there was no ironing board (so she just requested for it on Whatsapp, and it was delivered within a blink of an eye - so professional)

The free upgrade, it' was my 2nd and I was impressed with the upgrade. The place offers free breakfast and it also have self catering facilities which I find it impressive. For my first time in 2019 September , I was upgraded to a penthouse, it was an amazing experience. Also with my second experience, the staff very friendly

The lack of the washing machine, whilst there's a dishwasher. I think there should be balance. Their laundry prices are off, the charge per item is something that was disturbing to me, imagine undergarment charged at R20 per item

Lovely hotel! Would definitely stay there again! You gave us a free room upgrade to a 3 bedroom apartment. The view was incredible, the room spacious, the amenities and facilities pristine. The breakfast was decent, not the best, but not bad at all. Was made up for by the good espresso and friendly staff

Some of the finishes in the room were showing some age and wear and tear. Cupboard panels and finishes peeling off, taps not remaining open, bedding on the beds torn and old/discoloured. Just needs some freshening up and new bedding, and some light maintenance and the place would look brand new

Location, very friendly staff especially the person at reception, he was very friendly & accommodating. Breakfast that was included when booking was great. The apartment & building was very neat & clean.

There's no extra blankets in the room. It is basically winter so extra bedding should be provided. The website says that apartments are equipped with hair dryer, iron, ironing board but you have to request them from reception which is an inconvenience. I even had to request a wine glass & feel the apartment should already be equipped with that. I ordered supper on my last night, a rump Steak done medium but i got cremated tenderised steak instead that was like biltong, I also ordered an Alfredo pasta, it was served on a plate instead of a bowl, needless to say it was dry enough to serve on a plate. The fan in the bathroom does not have a switch, it would be great to switch it off when going to sleep at night.

I really enjoyed my birthday there. They even upgraded my Room.. the stuff behaviour 100/10 ,except one lady at cafeteria with spectacle iyhoo.. I swear the girl is black but she hates black sister's.. she even take my food while I was still eating, she does not communicate.. The food 10/10 very nice.. everyone at reception 10/10 you guys are the best.. The cleaning n security stuff deserve increase they very respectful I love them.. I'll definitely come back

After a long flight I just chanced it and arrived hours ahead of my scheduled check in, the staff made me comfortable and upgraded to one of their suites for free of charge and checked me in right away. The self-catering apartment was lush and had everything you’d need at home and more. There’s a fully kitted gym and an outdoor pool. The included made to order breakfast was a cherry on top. Friendly staff who go on about their business and are always available when needed. Would highly recommend anyone, I think I know where I’m staying when I’m next in Johannesburg.

Nothing to not like.

Our stay was very nice, the breakfast was great and the service too.. The beds are very comfortable. THE STAFF ARE AMAZING and very helpful, quick to respond to all your needs. We will definitely be staying there again. We do plan to go with our kids next round and stay in the apartments. Those look amazing too... There are a few shops in walking distance (Eating places, Spar, Pick n Pay clothing, clicks, name a few) and malls not too far away which is great too. Highly recommend The Nicol Hotel and apartments

The beds, I do wish the couples were given a double bed instead of two separate beds. But they were still super comfortable. I understand the rooms are connected to the apartments but it wasn't very pleasant when the food cooked next door lingered in our room. But it is what it is with that, they are connected to the apartments. So I understand there is nothing you can do with that. Otherwise not much to say on the negative side. This will be my stay when I go to Joburg
