The location was great as it was close to all the amenities and services I needed to access. The staff were absolutely brilliant, always so friendly and always willing to help

First 5 days the aircon was not working properly and made the room very hot. The pillows were not great and I actually had to purchase my own pillows and the bed was hard. Curtains look like they were not cleaned in many years.

The fact that breakfast is inclusive and for its price.

Just advice housekeepers to be respectful to knock three times atleast before entering … or rather create marks to alert people that we are in and not out. The house keeper just knocked once and opened disrespecting privacy 😭

Our stay was very nice, the breakfast was great and the service too.. The beds are very comfortable. THE STAFF ARE AMAZING and very helpful, quick to respond to all your needs. We will definitely be staying there again. We do plan to go with our kids next round and stay in the apartments. Those look amazing too... There are a few shops in walking distance (Eating places, Spar, Pick n Pay clothing, clicks, name a few) and malls not too far away which is great too. Highly recommend The Nicol Hotel and apartments

The beds, I do wish the couples were given a double bed instead of two separate beds. But they were still super comfortable. I understand the rooms are connected to the apartments but it wasn't very pleasant when the food cooked next door lingered in our room. But it is what it is with that, they are connected to the apartments. So I understand there is nothing you can do with that. Otherwise not much to say on the negative side. This will be my stay when I go to Joburg

The spaciousness of the apartment, the cleanliness and the most friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast.

A little embarrassed, as we could not do our own dishes, as there was not washing up liquid and no cloths to clean up a bit in the kitchen and the dining room, when we had something to eat. Dishwashing machine, but no cleaning agent to use inside. No wine glasses. Only one set of shampoo & body soap in the bathroom for a double room. Only three little containers of milk and three instant coffees & three tea bags in the apartment, which was booked for 5 adults.

The staff made my stay here. From the café, to the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was polite, attentive and quick to assist. I appreciate their efforts. The facilities are good, don't be shy to ask for something. It was clean and I had a comfortable stay, which was especially important as a female solo traveller. The area is safe with malls and food courts walking distance away. I also appreciate that there were water cuts for maintenance in the area but there were no interruptions at the hotel.

There were some little touches I've had at other hotels of a similar standard that would have made a difference for me like a rug outside the shower, conditioner, a small tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush included in the toiletries, and suggestions for things to do in the area but those are just improvements to an already good experience. There was not anything I did not like about my stay.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. I requests for an early checkin and was accommodated. The apartment I was allocated was on the ground floor which I did not like and the team was happy to move me to one on the 3rd floor. the breakfast was delicious as usual. Modern furniture / kitchen fittings and an excellent working fridge!

The linen was a bit old and off colour with stain although clean and nicely ironed. the bathroom shower could use a bit of maintenance i.e. water pressure and position...one has to look for the right spot to get the water. The kitchen tap also needs maintenance, water comes out of the wrong place i.e. there is a splatter in addition to the normal water outlet.

I liked the rooms were clean the towels the bed was comfortable. We ordered food it was brought to our room as request still hot and well repaired. The breakfast was delicious and it was fulfilling and freshly prepared that was a A + for me. And my friend was very impressed with everything. Thank you to everyone who made our stay pleasant. And the ladies at the front desk were very helpful and friendly 👌

When I made the booking I asked for a smoking option. However I only found out when we got there that the standard rooms were all non smoking. Could be that maybe I missed it if it's there if not please specify.

The call that I received, in the morning on that day made me sure that, the staff was looking forward to welcome and host us. the welcoming was exptional having to know that they had upgraded our standard room into a suite made our weekend super special. the cleanliness of the place. friendly and helpful staff, owh my Godness, I pray that God bless them all. the food was very fresh and tasty. the Cafe staff wow so precise and don't keep you waiting. I have absolutely nothing to criticize with regards the place and the staff , awesome awesome all the way.

not really about the hotel, however i would suggest you consider getting or rather fixing lighting outside the building from the robots to your entrance, as its bit scary when walking late.

The staff members were welcoming and friendly and offered any help whenever you needed it without complaining they were the sweetest. We got a free upgrade of our room, and we initially booked the standard. The room was extremely clean and breathtaking. They paid attention to detail when it came to the decorations it was so gorgeous, my partner and I kept pacing up and down in the room. The big bathtub was my favorite. The restaurant food is delicious, and the portions are amazing, and the breakfast is delicious and prepared fresh. We really enjoyed our stay there, I was so sad to leave, everything about that place is calming and beautiful. It is aesthetically pleasing and peaceful.

We did struggle a bit to find parking, but once we found it, it was really secure. I wish they could extend parking for the hotel visitors.
