I specifically chose this hotel because it was clean looking with more modern features such as laminates and larger bathroom tiles which make cleaning more efficient. There wasn't any formica bathroom vanity or cupboards that looked like it was pealing and had a bad paint job to cover it up. Details matter to the overall feel of a hotel even if you aren't looking for it you end up feeling it. I was very happy to see upon arrival the clean bright fresh lobby and that set a good tone. The added bonus is that the food was great and service by kitchen staff in the evening and the breakfast cook were so pleasant.

I think there are only 2 things that would be suggestions and not so much a complaint. Water bottles in the room even if there is no frigde. My partner is a foreigner and will never touch water in another country simply because their stomachs are sensitve too sensitive to new bacteria in the tap water. The lobby water fountain is a great concept but awkward in the middle of the night when you only have pjs on and need a drink. Secondly when its time to change out shower heads please change it to something that allows even water despersion. Currently when having a warm shower the center spout is much hotter than the outer spouts due to the difference in preassure.

I had to get accommodation at ORTambo in short notice. I checked all the lodges on Booking. com and Town Lodge was the highest scoring. Catering: Compliments to the chef. I did not take full breakfast as this is too much for me. So I ordered a chicken sandwich for my room. The fries were the best I ever tasted. The salad was a well balanced light salad not only lettuce, with a super tasty salad dressing. The chicken sandwich extraordinary. A delicious whole meal! Thank you for thsi surprise. Front desk and administration: Please give Beauty special accolades. Alongside all the other friendly and supportive staff Beauty deserves special mentioning. I think the kind lady that talked to me before I left could be the manager. I unfortunately forgot her name now for the moment. She also deserves to be mentioned.

It states on Booklng.com that there is a shuttle service. I expected it to be included in the fees. However it seems that one has to contact the hotel to arrange ahead. As for me who had to make a booking at short notice it was slightly inconvenient but Jack at the Shuttle service pickup and drop-off assisted me although I had to pay for the service. Suggestion: Clearly spell out the process for the shuttle service and maybe include in the reservation.

The place was clean, staff were friendly and it was a great place to stay over for 1 night while we waited for our domestic flight the day after we came back from our international trip.

The hotel does not have a shuttle service of their own. They source the transport out to a third party. You have to arrange with the reception for the shuttle to come and pick you up at the airport - which was fine - but the shuttle is quite expensive relative to Uber etc. (R120 per person oneway for a trip of only about 4km). You can get a Uber XL for about R150 per trip (this was at 11:00pm at night from the airport to the hotel).

An excellent location, less than 5 minutes drive from the airport. We had a layover and were only there from 11pm until 7am, so did not have time to test the breakfast or other facilities.

The bed was a standard double bed, so smaller than I'm used to at a hotel. There was no sheet on the bed. There was no vending machine to get snacks or drinks. The checkout process was a little confusing, as they only realised when we were already at the door that we had to pay them directly and that Booking.com had not paid them.

The right place 2 mins from Jan Smuts Airport Clean and respectable ,somewhere to relax before the trek. Food looks good Bar available and a small choice of wine which is OK Tele in room not DSTV. DSTV in bar.grear sandwiches. Rooms are OK clean separate loo and bathroom Plenty of towels ask for a hair dryer. Aircon room. Garden views. Close to shopping centre's East Rand Mall Plenty of parking in the shade. Third time here won't go anywhere else when over. 5 mins to best casino in Africa.

Breakfast at R200 is an option,we had one but there are so many cafes around 5 mins away you are spoilt for choice from Wimpy to Mug and Bean. It's not Sun City

Breakfast was good and comprehensive. Dinner was also a simple menu, but very good and tasty. Loved the new 'Body and hair' bar in the bathroom.

I like the fact that the staff was very friendly they assisted very patiently at check in as we were tired from driving from Limpopo(near Botswana Border). The restaurant was so so convenient and the pasta we had was exceptionally delicious. Would definitely use them again as we travel on a regular basis to Pretoria/Johannesburg. Even the security at the gate was super friendly. We need more friendly people!

The hotel was a couple of minutes from an event I attended so very convenient, the staff were accommodating and helpful with every request...when traveling for work I always find Town Lodge everywhere I use it to be always the same, not much frills, just efficiency guaranteed all round.

There is nothing I didn't like, I traveled alone and for everything I expected and needed for the stay I got, so no complaint.

Its convenient to the Airport so is perfect for me, esp as i always book one of the 'back' rooms. I was most surprised and pleased that Town Lodge now has a restaurant on the premises. Makes it even better than before. Town lodge has always been my 'Go to' stop over in Jhb. Its been awhile since i overnighted in Jhb so also new to me were the renovated bathrooms, they weren't bad before but now are much nicer.

The hotel is close to the airport & the Emperor’s Palace convention centre. It’s also secure and clean.

Their sliding gate has no sensors. As such my vehicle was dented when it suddenly closed whilst I was driving in. I was asked to give an account of what transpired and told I’d receive feedback on the following week.
