It was a very late shuttle pick up from OR Tambo International, but the room was an absolute treat with a hot shower and a very comfortable bed after a long day — the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful and went out of their way to see that I got to the airport on time for my international flight. The premises have a wonderful ambience amidst the bustle of the streets surrounding it — a hidden little gem, I’d say —

A recommendation only, not a dislike — perhaps to improve the availability of the shuttle service offered - the property is situated in a bustling metropolis of Ekurhuleni, the drivers not only have a very busy schedule, juggling with traffic congestion — also - please promote your property more — its tranquil, well kept and employ welcoming staff.

We were looking for a place to stay the night before an early morning flight and it was a really pleasant stay. Check-in process was really easy, complimentary tea coffee station, large shared dining space, large garden to relax with a pool and a bar. Complementary shuttle to the airport at night or early morning. We only got a very basic room but it was really comfortable and had everything we needed for the night, felt safe.

some common spaces didn't seem really clean like the pool and the pool table area but that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. There are plenty of other common spaces to use and relax if you didn't want to stay inside the room.

The friendliness of the staffwho were very helpful and polite. Last stayed at Aero Guest Lodge in 2016 so was familuar with the way it was set out and how it was run,plus the fact you got a decent breakfast and could help yourself to unlimited tea and coffee.

It's a shame they haven't employed a cook, as that was so much easier than to have a takeaway. I didn't chance swapping my sim card, so didn't have any of the apps for Uber or any of the other services so Reception kindly ordered food and taxis for me, whereas in the past there was somebody who would take you to places and wait for you. Found the Uber service was OK, but felt uncomfortable whilst waiting for the Uber to arrive as I had to go and stand outside a large store to get a signal.

They come and pick you up at the airport, rooms that we stayed in had been updated since the last time we visited. The rooms we stayed in were big and nicely decorated with a very large bathroom. We like that they have coffee and tea available 24/7 and an open bar for other drinks. You can just get it out of the fridge and write it down.

Unfortunately the lodge does not serve dinner anymore and free transfer not 24h. But you can order food by ubereat and it will be deliverd to the lodge and arrange an uber for transfers as well.

Already left a review from a previous stay - 10/10, would recommend if you needed a couple of days to stay either for a connecting flight or business. Free shuttle, collection and drop off to airport by the hotel all pre arranged so no stress when arriving. Clean, comfortable and the service/staff were great. Secure gated property and easy to find. It is located very close to the airport which is super convenient, but bear in mind you will hear aeroplanes most of the day until 9/10pm when they stop flying above, however this did not put me off from staying there again for a couple of days to catch a connecting flight the following day. 10/10 :)

Couldn’t complain about anything

Located very close to the airport (5 minute drive if that). Me and my partner stayed for one night as we needed to catch a connecting flight the following day so was very convenient, and Aero Lodge provided a free shuttle to transport us to the hotel (I received a text as to where to meet him along with the car registration). The property was very secure and the owners and staff very welcoming. They also provided a shuttle back to the airport the following day for us to catch our connecting flight. The rooms were clean and had all the usual facilities. They provided breakfast (as long as you have selected it as the option) along with beers/ciders in the fridge for you to grab when you fancied a drink! They also supplied a menu for a local take away which was delivered and the food was really good! Definitely recommend the WOW burger and some ribs! Happy with the price and rate my stay a 10/10 - It did have a pool and outdoor area, however it was noisy due to aircraft flying out above, but they did stop flying around 9/10pm so sleeping wasn’t an issue. we used it for a ‘overnight transfer hotel’ and couldn’t have been more pleased with choosing to have stayed there, I would definitely recommend and stay again if I travel to South Africa sometime soon!

Nothing! Just remember it is near Johannesburg airport so you will expect planes flying above!

Reliably fantastic place. My absolute number 1 for any stopover in Johannesburg when I want to stay near the airport to catch a flight the next day. Granted, the district in which it is located isn't for the faint-hearted, especially at night. But there's also not really any point walking around much, as this lovely lodge with its great garden and super-cool staff has everything you need inside (and you can order whatever else you need to the gate).

Super cute place with great staff. Close to airport. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was large. If we are ever back in the area we would stay again.

Sink in bathroom needs to be better attached to the wall, was very loose. There was an extension cord on the left side...facing bed....that needs to be replaced as it looks burnt and bare wires. Loungers by pool need new cushions, as these were nasty looking, but did the job required.

This location has been opening up after being closed for 18 months due to the pandemic. The service is great and the location is fabulous. It's close to the airport and there's a reliable shuttle. Breakfast is good and there is an honesty bar. They will order you a take away lunch or dinner. Before the pandemic they also offered dinner and I'm sure that option will return. There is a well tended garden with an immaculate swimming pool.

An oasis in the middle of the city — enter the gates into this lodge and feel like you have escaped the city into your private retreat. Private entrance rooms open up to a shared lawn and pool as well as an eating area. It’s easy to have food delivered to the lodge and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and television. A great place to stay when you need to be near the airport or for any occasion in Joburg.
