Great service. Friendly staff. Easy check-in process. The only downside was that the power had been cut ( through no fault of Ithonsi) which meant that hot water wasn't available for my one-night stay. However, they had been in contact with local municipality to have the issue resolved.

The room met the value and the expectations that I paid for, the room was clean and tidy, warm and there were additional amenaties provided such as a stocked bar fridge with bevarges, water and juice and including free tea dn coffee with a kettle and the room was heated via a small convection heater. I slept on a lower bunk bed, with a firm comfortable mattress, extra thick warm bankets, a dressing gown and their was a fully Functional bathroom / shower, basin toilet and running hot water. I was pleased with my stay and comfort, exceptional value for what I paid, I will definately stay their again.

We had to wait a little long to gain entry to the property when we arrived.

The property manager is duch a nice guy. We arrived late after we landed at the airport and there was no electricity in the property. He run a generator for us so we could have a shower etc before going to bed. And again in the morning before we left. Very appreciated it.

This property was great as it was close to the airport, perfect for a short layover! Additionally, the rooms were clean, well kept, and the staff were very polite! If I had a layover in Johannesburg, I would book here again.

At the time of stay, the room I stayed in didn’t have privacy curtains on the windows, meaning people could see in. This wasn’t a huge issue as the property is gated, however if you need to change in your room etc it’s possible a staff member may accidentally see you! Not a big problem as you can change in the bathroom, just a small recommendation.

Charging ports need upgrading as most of us international travellers don’t use same chargers like in South Africa Need to have a receptionist 24hrs When possible kindly have a computer as one of the travellers had a problem to book his flight back to Germany, I had to give him my personal gadget.

The proximity of the airport as I had a morning flight on my first visit

The initial view of the broken keypad for entrance (though I think this was being fixed. The bags of leaves etc at the base of the palm in the garden. The overall appearance was spoiled by the back area used to park cars by airport parking (about 80 at one point), this made it look like a car park rather than a Guest house

Unfortunately, due to the guesthouse close proximity to the R21 highway, it is very noisy. I would not recommend light sleepers to stay here as the noise from the traffic is non-stop.

I liked my room. I booked the Superior room which had an ensuite and a big window to view the garden outside. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There was an evaporator cooler which I used now and then ti freshen the air. The shower was good and everything was very clean. The property hist/ caretaker was so polite and caring. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee perfect. Only 4klms from the airport. Bekhi will organise an Uber to take you back to the airport. I would stay again as it is very homely. Snacks, wine, coffee and juice were available from the fridge!

5 min car to the airport, our tour service picked us up from this hotel to Kruger Park, so I think the location is very convenient if you are waiting for your next connection. The hotel has all the facilities in the room, bathroom, kitchen, etc, all impeccable and clean. Comun kitchen Laundry service Polite and helpful staff, thank you for everything you did for making us comfortable.

Room size could be small but cozy.

The caretaker Bheki was great and readily available. I had a long 6 hour daytime layover at JNB and decided to stay at the lodge. I communicated this over email. They made sure my room was ready as I arrived. I enjoyed that it was less than 10 minutes from the airport and close to order food on Uber Eats. The room and ensuite toilet was comfortable and very clean, as were the common areas.

Unfortunately they had power issues at the time (no charging and no hot water) but Bheki the caretaker said he can turn on the generator whenever I wanted, which I appreciated.
