We like Mount Grace and have been frequent visitors over many years and through many management changes. The staff are excellent..They are friendly and fast and efficient. The facilities are good..and the location is beautiful but there is a serious problem with management and maintenance. I like booking one of the suites. It is quite pricey but it comes with privacy and a fireplace and a private pool and incredible bird life. BUT on a previous visit we had to call maintenance to fix the fridge and the fireplace before we could settle down and relax. This time I phoned ahead and asked that they must make sure everything is in working order. So it is really astounding to arrive at a our room to find us unable to open any of the doors onto the verandah to enjoy the beautiful views and birdlife that is the reason we booked this. Again we had to call maintenance and a team arrived and forced the broken doors open. Later we had to phone them again to close the doors. So there literally is maintenance people in and out of our room for 20 minutes each time.. and then we were told that we either had to move or refrain from opening the doors again.. It is beyond ridiculous and I never heard from management. Even though I asked and was reassured that they are made aware of the situation. . Not an apology or a reduction in a price for a room that really did not deliver. It is just not ok.

My 9 year old loved the pool, the bed the buffet dinner and breakfast, and the food in general. I enjoyed the spa, food, pool, environment and privacy to relax also the tea in the rooms

Carpet in our room was dirty and my son with asthma was struggling at night. Change flooring Tv with old channels and only 1 kiddies channel Kiddies are we were told the remites for Playstation didn't have batteries. That was strange cis batteries are not expensive. People pdrunk , Lou and playing music on Saturday afternoon at the pool, that was a nuisance Not knowing there are lots lots of cats, they were always at our balcony and my son is allergic, so that was not nice

I've had to rewrite my review about our recent experience because of how well Mount Grace handled our concerns. While we initially had issues with the TV and internet, their response was professional and efficient. Aside from that, the hotel is amazing—most of the front-line staff are exceptionally well-trained, the food is exquisite, and the setting is breathtaking. My family absolutely loves the pools and spa—truly a fantastic getaway!

We experienced an issue with the TV and internet in our room which was a damper on the weekend but Mount Grace handled it exceptionally well. They took our feedback like true professionals, acted swiftly, and resolved the problem efficiently. Thank you, Team Mount Grace!

Loved the rooms as well as the heated plunge pools. The bathrooms were also very comfortable and spacious and we especially loved the beds as well as comfortable pillows. The service by the reception was excellent and they were always available when we required anything. The food was excellent. Breakfast was Soo delicious and supper by the Rambling Vine was good with an amazing atmosphere that's 100% perfect for dates. The Spa was definitely the highlight of our stay, it was comfortable and an experience we'll definitely be doing again. Loved it.

The pancakes/waffles by the breakfast area were slightly disappointing as they were always slightly burnt/dried out.

The venue was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and our room exceeded expectations – very comfortable and well-appointed. The spa was gorgeous and professionally run, and both breakfast and the overall food quality were excellent.

The check-in process could be improved. We were promised a golf cart to help transport our luggage to the room, but after waiting close to an hour in the parking lot, no cart arrived. We eventually complained and someone came to help carry bags, but by then we had already moved most of our luggage ourselves. A smaller suggestion would be to consider upgrading the TVs in the rooms to smart TVs for added convenience.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mount Grace. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, the venue was beautiful, and the spa treatments were both relaxing and of a high standard.

We specifically booked a room with a private pool, at a higher rate than the standard rooms. We really wanted to enjoy swimming during our stay. However, the pool water was not heated sufficiently, making it too cold to use. We also ordered room service and waited over an hour for our food. In addition, the spa pool was only mildly warm, which was still not comfortable enough for swimming at this time of year.

Beautiful spacious room with all the amenities you'd want. The kids bed is a foldout couch that lies flat on the floor once out, which is a little awkward and cold, but otherwise works well enough. Lots of complimentary toiletries and coffees, as well as lots of large fluffy towels, in the room, and the breakfast was great. Fun play area for younger kids - with supervision.

Not a fan of the shower being in the bath, but that's just me. We waited for more than an hour for housekeeping to bring sheets to make up the kids bed - apparently they were busy ironing them, which seems like bad planning to me. There was also construction work right next to us, which unfortunately spoiled the tranquility a bit for us, prevented us from making use of our patio, and affected the phone in our room.

Right from checking in to checking out, Mount Grace was absolutely spectacular. Facilities are of a high standard. Easy access from JHB or Pretoria or from the Airport. Staff are very professional, and nothing is too much of an ask. The go carts are a great way to get around.

Perhaps the hotel or management could implement a rule of disallowing anyone wearing sleep wear into the dining rooms, e.g, breakfast tables. Witnessing an individual walking around dishing up breakfast and proceeding to sit at the table was unacceptable and disrespectful to others.

The heaters in the room as well as the spa were just too hot. It isn’t realistic to be set to 30-32° we understand that it’s winter & yes it’s cold but to set everything to such high temperatures is an overkill. When we left our room for dinner we switched the heaters off as well as the electric blankets. When we returned they were back on as I’m sure it’s required from the turn down service but it’s just that little bit too much that it’s uncomfortable. The underfloor heating in the bathroom however is very much appreciated 👌🏼
