When we arrived we were upgraded to a superior room with a terrace. This was in the 7th floor and we were really appreciative. However having thought about it, I struggle with lifts and a bad leg, so going up 7 flight is stairs really didn’t work for me. The lady in reception moved us to the first floor, which I appreciate wasn’t ideal especially after upgrading us, but we were not made to feel uncomfortable she went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and no trouble. All the staff were lovely, reception and breakfast members of staff. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and the orange juice was amazing. The room was lovely and it was serviced with fresh towels everyday. We can’t rate this hotel and staff highly enough. Location was perfect too. Thank you for making our stay perfect.

Great location, fabulous breakfast, super helpful and friendly staff. Very close to metro stations, lots of shopping and dining options surround the property. La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and Passeig de Gracia are all an easy stroll away. Even though Catalonia Square is very close to the hustle & bustle of this busy part of Barcelona, it provided a quiet respite and great place to retreat to after long hours of walking and sightseeing. The breakfast was an unexpected delight...high quality food with lots of options.

My room had a large column that was oddly and inconveniently placed and impacted the flow of the space. This was a minor inconvenience; the overall quality of Catalonia Square exceeded my expectations.

We had an incredible experience at this hotel. Beyond its excellent location near Plaça de Catalunya and everything around it, the hotel staff was exceptionally friendly. We received outstanding service from the entire team—always smiling, kind, and highly attentive. They went above and beyond when I requested a late check-out, allowing me to stay at the hotel until my taxi arrived. I did not have breakfast included in my stay, so I cannot provide feedback on that. There is a gym and a pool, but I did not use them. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Unfortunately, upon check-out, I was unexpectedly charged additional amounts on my credit card, even though I had settled all minibar charges. According to the hotel receptionist, there were no pending dues at the time of my departure. However, after leaving the hotel, I was surprised to see extra deductions from my card for services I did not use. I strongly advise future guests to request a detailed invoice at check-out to avoid any unexpected charges.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! We visited Barcelona for our babymoon when I was 7 months pregnant. The staff were so friendly and considerate - extra pillows, calling the lift for me, showing us where the sites were and little things to make me more comfortable. The breakfast was sublime - fresh bread, cakes, cereals, cooked breakfast options, fruit, yoghurts! Please tell me where you got your fruit and nut granola, it's so so so good! Also they did lots of alternative milks for dairy intolerance / vegans. The bed was comfy, room was immaculate, and location was perfect for getting to the airport and to key attractions. Honestly it was perfect! ❤️

We really enjoyed the hotel, and I will keep this chain in mind for future trips. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. This was our 4th hotel on the trip, and it had the most comfortable mattress, high-quality bedding, and towels. We slept well. Initially, we were supposed to stay in a room on the 7th floor with a beautiful terrace, but the extreme heat of 35+C during our stay made it difficult for the air conditioning to function properly. We moved to another room with a terrace on the 1st floor. Thanks to the hotel team and manager Natalia for their efforts to make our stay as comfortable as possible and for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast, by the way, deserves special mention. It meets the 5* standard in terms of quality and presentation. Although we don't usually eat more than yogurt and a croissant in the morning, the selection is extensive and delicious.

The terrace of the room on the 1st floor is separated by a high dark brown fence from the pool area, so there is very little daylight in the room. We had to turn on the lights even during the daytime.

From the moment arrived we were made to feel very welcome . The receptionists were really friendly whilst doing their job . Our room was immaculate , very nicely presented and had a great bathroom and our welcome gift and chocolates each day during the stay were appreciated . Location wise the hotel is excellent being minutes away from the airport bus, metro , hop on hop off buses as well as being close to many attractions within a short walk. We found the breakfast to be excellent quality with plenty to choose from , and the staff kind and helpful . We don’t often eat dinner when staying in a hotel but we were tired some days and found the option of eating at the hotel to be excellent . The food and service were both fantastic and it was nice to be in a quiet space after a busy day sightseeing and walking . Overall we absolutely loved this hotel and will stay here again when in Barcelona .

We loved front desk Alberto . He helped us with restaurants and directions to all attractions. He’s Very nice person ! Hotel room Clean and bed was comfortable . Across is a shopping mall and Catalonia square . Don’t miss the ice cream and bakery store right on the corner. Walk to Casa Batllo and Mila 10 to 15m . All Very convenient place and hop on hop off 5 m a way

We arrived early morning . We knew we were too early for the room and we had breakfast in the hotel . Some one told us they would text us when room is ready . But unfortunately some one forgot . We waited a long time until I went down to ask and saw a lot of people check in already. Other wise iT’s wonderful hotel . We Will stay again if we come back to Barcelona.

We loved everything

The Hotel Catalonia Square exceeded my expectations. It is extremely well-located, just steps away from Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona. Numerous restaurants and major attractions are within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Iconic landmarks like Casa Batlló are just a few blocks away, and Plaça de Catalunya is right around the corner. You can also enjoy a pleasant walk of less than 30 minutes to Barceloneta Beach, a perfect spot for jogging, outdoor activities, and soaking in the stunning architecture of Barcelona. The hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ensuring a comfortable stay. I highly recommend Hotel Catalonia Square to anyone visiting Barcelona.
