Fabulous location just off Placa Catalunya, literally 2 mins from where the airport bus drops you off. Room - our room was quite small but that didn’t bother us. We only wanted somewhere to sleep while we did the touristy thing. Small, very clean bathroom with modern/new shower, wet wall and fittings. Small fridge which was great for our milk and juice. Building entrance - thought I’d mention this in case anybody else gets confused. This is not your atypical hotel front. You look for building no 14 and then press the buzzer for BCN ( it looks like an apartment block). You go up 8/10 stairs and then take the lift to 4th floor (marked 3) in the lift. The entrance is to your right as you come out the lift. Once you’ve checked in you’ll be given digital codes to the front door, Hotel door and your room which is convenient. In Placa Catalunya square itself there’s a couple of tourist information places. they have free maps or €1 maps. Take the €1 map, it’s much better. To get to the hotel we bought Aerobus tickets on line before we travelled however no need unless you prefer a digital copy on your phone. The aerobus is light blue , distinctive and so are the ticket machines. Easy to find at both the airport and Pl d Catalunya Hotel happy to look after your luggage on your last day. Absolute best place to eat is an 8 minute walk away - Zenith Cafe. You’ll have to queue for a table but OMG worth it.

The hotel is in a central location near a transportation hub and stores. The area is busy but not overwhelming. Initially, I was disappointed by the exterior thinking I had booked a hostel! I think the hotel is a renovated apartment building. However, once inside, the European old world charm melted my disappointment. I loved the classical spiral staircase and what seemed to be original floor tiles. The 5 by 5 elevator was a surprise. We had a good laugh about it. The room and bath were modern and nicely designed. The place was very clean. Staff was friendly and helped us navigate the city. I would book again. This hotel may not be for you if you prefer glitz, glass, a concierge and room service. I personally loved it! I felt like a local and the stay added to my European experience.

Nothing really to complain about.

The location was perfect. It was close to the city centre, bus and metro stations. There are many cafés, restaurants, small supermarkets nearby. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It looked like in the pictures. The bathroom was beautiful. Easy check-in and check-out process. They cleaned the room and changed the bedsheets every day. The staff was kind and helpful, and they spoke English. On our last day, we could leave our luggage at the reception, and explore a bit more before we had to go to the airport for our flight home.

Eventhough, the amenities were alright, because we stayed for 3-4 days, I feel like the room needed 1 more trashcan. The only trashcan available was in the bathroom. And also, the building has an elevator, however, before reaching the elevator, there are a few flights of stairs, and the elevator itself is really small. So, if you travel with really big luggage, or with someone older or with baby carriage or wheelchair, I would not recommend choosing this accommodation. Apart from that, it's the perfect place to stay and discover Barcelona. :)

We had a 3 person accommodation so 2 twin bed to make a full and an another twin bed in right next but in a private little nook. Bathroom shower was big! They provided little toiletries and had some maps and tourist info at their desk.

Just a note, our booking didn’t included the city tax per night so we had to pay with the staff. I think it was around 5-7€ per person per night?

We book a small double room, it was very small but wasn’t unexpected - it was difficult to find as there were no instructions or entry codes given prior to checkin - the receptionist was nice but didn’t give us much information and there wasn’t anywhere safe to leave your language after the stay - Also, the lift didn’t seem very secure. But overall was a good affordable option for a short stay

It was very clean, very comfortable, had everything we needed and access to the room during the middle of the night after flight delays was super easy. Communications were quick and easy with the hotel on booking, and they held onto our bags after check out until we needed them later. Possibly one of the best showers too

Nothing, it was great. Location included.

The girl on reception was fantastic, exceptional English and really explained how the facilities worked. The location was perfect, 2 minute walk to the tube or bus station which was also where the hop on hop off bus started from too. There were no tea and coffee making facilities but 2 coffee shops directly opposite so you could either grab one on the way out or collect one to enjoy in bed in the morning. The room was cleaned to an exceptional standard everyday and we really couldn't have been happier.

Not really a negative but just a heads up for people. When you arrive it is situated on the top floor of an apartment block, so when you walk in the building it is tired with a dodgy looking lift. At first I was mortified as I had booked it as a surprise for my husbands 40th and not the entrance I was expecting. But once I went up to the top floor all was as pictured and everything was perfect from there on in. So not a negative, but as this is a new facility there was no reviews when I booked so i thought I'd give people a heads up.

Overall we are really happy with our stay. From the airport, we got to Plaça De Catalunya with the Aerobus, then walked for a few minutes. You need to get to number 14, then press the buzzer for BCN Urban Rooms, and get the elevator to 4th floor (number 3 on the elevator button). The location was great, right in the city centre, everything was walking distance and there was no need to get the metro, which saved us a bit of money. The staff welcomed us and was extremely friendly and helpful. We had agreed to leave our luggages until check-in time but our room was ready so we got to check-in a bit earlier than expected. We got room 108 and I think it's worth mentioning that the window is on a light well facing the elevator, which means that you can hear the elevator the whole night and, although that didn't bother us. Also, we didn't hear the city traffic which is a big thing in Barcelona. The bathroom was really nice, with a big shower with good pressure, and both towels and sheets were clean. All in all we would recommend it!

A few things worth considering when booking. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear literally everything that happens in the room next to yours, including fights and couples being intimate. The TV gets the signal from other remote controllers other than yours, so it might randomly turn on or change channel. The bed is actually two single beds put together, but that didn't bother us too much though. The pillows are quite short and thin, but this depends only on personal preference!

Great little hotel. Very well maintained, extremely comfortable bed. Very quiet, one easy flight of stairs in foyer to lift. Rooms very small but functional. Central location, easy walk to most attractions. Staff very helpful.

Only strange thing was that Booking.com offered a room with city views and there were none. But being back from the street it was very quiet.

Great central location with excellent breakfast/brunch options nearby (our favourite was Citizen Café). Room clean. Beds comfortable. Nice pleasant staff. Metro nearby.

Ignore slightly grotty entrance hallway, reception and rooms are on level 4 and they are perfect.
