Lovely small hotel with attentive staff. Very well appointed and super well located.

The "gym" was absolutely laughable. Had to ask the staff to open it to use. Had a tiny selection of free weights -- nothing suitable for a man. The rooftop bar was closed in winter; whereas the one at Hotel Espana a few blocks away was staffed and had heaters. I expect more from a 5 star hotel.

The hotel is located right at the beginning of La Rambla Street and is conveniently close to the bus station for the aerobus, as well as many other tour companies' starting points. I really appreciate the hotel's quirky design and its proximity to many tourist attractions. Although I had heard many warnings about pickpockets and robberies in the area before my trip, I found that it wasn't as bad as I had feared. It's just important to stay alert and aware of your surroundings.

As some other reviewers pointed out, the division between the bathroom and the sleeping area is a transparent glass door. We taped a thin scarf onto the glass door to provide privacy (we brought the scarf and tape, especially for this purpose). The room is quite cramped compared to the US standards; we rearranged the furniture to make it work.

Location perfect. Staff (reception, bell boy, waiter/barman) all terrific people and the Doorman (Captain Sunshine) was the funniest, happiest, best sport we have ever come across. Alll of the folk were such a great advert for the hotel. We arrived at 8.30 a.m. were given a cava each to drink in the rooftop pool area and were able to check in at 9.20 a.m. FANTASTIC SERVICE

The Room was a tad dark with no natural light but a small thing for a 24 hours stay. Great bed, lots of extra comforts. Good bathroom space and facilities.

The hotel is beautiful! The staff was always friendly and helpful. The hotel is a block away from a big outdoor market. La Ramblas is out front. We walked everywhere, from our hotel.

We are in Europe, so the rooms are smaller than what we are used to. That's not going to change, just be prepared to be a little cramped especially if you have more than a carryon. I had breakfast there once and it was good, but expensive for what it is so we opted to find breakfast else.

The staff were very kind and helpful!! They took our luggage up for us, had our room ready a little early, and even provided a map and highlighted places for us to go and see. They showed us to our room and showed us how everything worked, etc. The items in the fridge were free as well as some snacks which was VERY nice! They also helped us get a taxi when we were leaving. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean, and the wifi worked great. Loved having open windows and little balconies. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we would stay there again!

Would love a clothes steamer in the room. Especially helpful for travelers!

Very friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Superb location within walking distance of most major sights. Very clean comfortable rooms and public areas. Fantastic breakfast.

Our room didn't have a window, so was rather dark and felt airless. It would have been nice if this had been pointed out to us at the time we booked so we could possibly have considered other options.

Small boutique hotel meant we felt like the service was personalised and the staff knew who we were. Customer service was impeccable, helpful to navigate the city sights and always available. The pool on the terrace overlooking the city was perfect for an afternoon beverage. Complimentary mini bar daily and turn down service was an unexpected touch.

No tea in mini bar, but I’m sure if I had asked they would have made me one and brought it up in room service, without a problem at all.

Hotel was beautiful, really enjoyed the stay. Staff were great and room was always spotless.

Hotel is on a main road which is in a great location but comes at the cost of loud noise from the streets at night. Asked the staff to warm up the steam room to be used (advised us it would be a 30 minute wait), went down after 30 minutes and they told us they forgot to turn it on. Other than these issues, stay was great.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very tastefully designed and felt luxurious. The breakfast was very good and a lovely start to the day. The rooftop terrace had a fabulous vibe in the evening for cocktails. It was very easy to walk to key tourist attractions, it was easy to get a taxi and the metro was straightforward.

I shared a room with my daughter and before we booked I checked the hotel website and TripAdvisor to check that the bathroom was private (i.e. enclosed). It looked like the separating door between the bedroom and bathroom was a mirror. Unfortunately when we arrived we found that the door was clear glass. (The shower and toilet were both in cubicles within the bathroom with partially frosted glass.) The reception staff were very understanding when I requested a single sheet to be hung over the door for privacy and the issue was solved. Also the toilets are unusually high (good for the elderly) and the toilet seats are uncomfortable.

All of the staff - from the doormen to reception to housekeeping to the bartender - were friendly, helpful and very professional. The shower was one of the two best we had during our month-long stay in Spain.

I understand "boutique" hotels are often small, but the room was on the small side and the lighting was on the dark side - especially for a 5-star hotel. It's a small complaint but worth making.
