Great location close to the port and the Old Town. Everything was in walking distance so it's easy to explore the town, shops and restaurants. The hotel is also very close to the main bus stop so you can visit the west coast beaches with ease. We caught the Linea 1 bus to Playa Victoria which was only a 10 minute ride away. Adult fare is €1.10 and kids travel free. Beatiful fine sand and lots of restaurants - well worth it! Our room was spacious with comfortable beds, great aircon and excellent sound proofing. Highly recommend.

The pool was a bit small but I appreciate this is the norm for inner city rooftop pools. The buffet breakfast was spread across three different rooms which was a bit unusual but not a great inconvenience.

Nice hotel, very well located, at the entrance of the old town.

The underground swimming pool is not part of the hotel, but the spa (so extra charge), I told reception it was very misleading from the pictures. The swimming pool on the rooftop is not great, with pretty much no space around it, no protection from wind and sun. Plan parking in advance; I ended up driving 20 minutes in the old town (a nightmare), the hotel didn't give any assistance. Even for 1-2 hours in the hotel's parking, we would have had to pay for a full day (25€).

We were excited to return for a second year to the hotel. We had two rooms next to each other off a corridor which made me feel safe not having my teenage children in the same room. Pool and sunbeds always avialble and never very busy. Like the freshly made omelette in the morning. The staff are very friendly and helpful Rooms were cleaned each day.

The items available for breakfast had reduced this year and some of the items did not look fresh. There were dirty plates which felt there was not so much care and attention.

We booked the junior suite and it was perfect. A really big room with a huge comfortable bed, separate lounge area and huge bathroom. There was a complimentary spa toiletries kit, some lovely soft towelling bathrobes and slippers to get comfy in. We were also given a complimentary bottle of cava which was very appreciated! Couldn’t fault it, expect to say that if you are driving you need nerves of steel to manoeuvre into the lift which takes you and your car down to the car park! Apart from that, it was a fab hotel and I would recommend it highly.

Next to train, boat to Santa Maria, parking nearby with discount if you revisiter online before, central as. Near everything in short distance. Nice hôtel beds and bathroom very modern shower We got 1 free water and 1 free small cava bottle A very nice surprise for our stay Slippers and bathrobe Dvorak facilities

Noise from the street all night (normal as a City)and only 1 small window to open Facilities to swimming pool and sauna (payment) requires passing through main hall near entrance (no direct access) from our room.

Great location close to everything. Very nice helpful staff. Nice toiletries and very clean rooms, drinks in the room included. Reception open 24/7, selling snacks and some essentials. Spa on site (separate booking, not included). Good breakfast (apart from coffee).

It's very difficult to enter parking, it's just too narrow. It can make the arrival a bit stressful. We had a family room booked but it was changed to a superior double with two double beds, which is not very convenient with two children. A double bed and two single beds would have been much nicer. The TV mainly has radio channels on, it was really weird. The quality of coffee at breakfast was not great.

Location of the hotel, comfort of the bed and cleanliness of the room. It was also a pleasant change to be a fully staffed hotel with a conscientious reception team.

Disappointed that the window in the room looked directly onto someone's apartment just a matter of feet across the lane. We felt that the hotel was expensive given that it did not include breakfast and was looking quite dated. The roof top pool and terrace were disappointing compared to the photographs that dominate the Booking.com Site. In particular the pool is much smaller and the terrace is much shabbier in real life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. It boasts an elegant style and features a charming internal courtyard. Our room overlooked this courtyard, providing a pleasant view and ample natural light. We appreciated the option for a warm breakfast and didn't mind the layout where we needed to access the kitchen in another part of the restaurant. Additionally, we had the opportunity to experience the spa, which had a delightful ambiance.

Occasionally, there was some echoing noise in the courtyard, but it wasn't overly disruptive. While the roof terrace felt a bit disconnected from the other areas, we appreciated its presence and enjoyed spending time there.

Central location. Senator Cadiz (part of a chain of 41) is a well run hotel right in the centre of old Cadiz. It is an old styled hotel and is relaxed. The hotel is well managed and run. The staff are competent and helpful. The breakfast buffet and hot food counter are very good, except for poor bacon. There was a prolonged problem with the link for payment. It necessitated three (expensive) phone calls to a central reservations office. Our standard room had ample space with large beds and a window onto a narrow but quiet street. The large bathroom had the shower in a bath and a bidet. Avoid rooms close to elevators or with doors to link rooms; we had noisy neighbours for two nights. There is a shortage of electric plugs close to the beds which necessitated an extension lead. The bar area is unappealing with a limited daytime menu. There is no concession for guests at the fine spa within the hotel. The small unheated rooftop swimming pool with hydro jets was refreshing. Unfortunately the pool is not supervised , allowing unruly behaviour by two children. We really enjoyed our stay.

Access to the spa expensive. Rooftop pool and surrounds require more attention.

November 2024

we upgraded our room and it was worth it as the superior room was large and included towels, robes and slippers for the spa as well as sparkling wine, water, fridge, tea and coffee. The spa (which was an extra cost) was well equipped with various different pools, jacuzzies, steam room and saunas.

as we had booked through booking.com. we couldnt reserve a space for our car and had to park in a public underground parking and carry our cases to the hotel. this should be noted on booking.com's website.
