I was very happy to have chosen this property. It is only a three minute walk from the West Entrance of the Atocha station. Decent grocery stores only a short stroll away on Delicia. Good proximity to three main museums. The staff were all absolutely lovely, and all speak impeccable English- which only inspires me to obtain a better grasp of their language. As an airline crew member I can only hope I come across in my job as hospitably as they do. One of the most impressive points is that I was given my room at 7:30AM, being on a very early-arriving flight from the US. (I’ve been told by a friend who is employed at a Marriott-branded property that such is the policy- to allow an early check-in PROVIDED the room is available. LOTS of hotels are sticklers about NOT providing this courtesy, and it’s no fun waiting around the better part of your first day of a trip to be handed a key. The primary reason why I’d always seek out Marriott brands first, despite not even being a Bonvoy member). Clean, quiet, spacious room with a luxuriously comfortable bed.

Not a complaint, but must confess I find the glass-wall shower-completely open to the sleeping area- is visually beautiful from a design perspective, but not highly practical for anyone rooming with someone else and not wanting to put on a shower-show(!)Have seen this concept elsewhere in my travels and just find it odd. Perhaps Europeans are less squeamish about such things;-))

Thw breakfasts were truly excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.. About the facilities, please see what we didn’t like. The location is good if you need/want to be near the railroad station which is why we booked this hotel as we were traveling out of the Atocha Station a few days later.

The room was nice EXCEPT the bathroom setup was extremely weird—the shower was between the sink and the toilet on the one side and the beds on the other. Ok, BUT THE SHOWER WAS MADE OF SEE-THROUGH GLASS ON BOTH SIDES!! Anyone else in the room had to watch you shower!! Also the shower itself was inconsistent and a bit difficult to use. Sometimes the water temperature changed suddenly, including to very hot and people can get scaled.

AC Hotel Atocha by Marriott was better than perfect for my overnight ready to take the train from Atocha to Granada at 735am the next morning. I am disabled, using a stroller, and disorientated - my Marriott staff were so helpful and patient. I was very grateful. The restaurant opened earlier that expected for dinner for myself and a guest from Madrid. Very special local food choices, really delicious. I cannot wait to visit you again. This is smart, modern hotel is a great all rounder! The reception staff were genuinely helpful and polite throughout our stay and was able to arrange early access to our room which was unexpected. The room was spacious, very quiet and comfortable with a coffee maker - exactly what you need after long days sightseeing. And, If you opt to have breakfast you can expect a large selection of hot & cold dishes all super tasty and well presented. The winner however is the hotel's location. Unlike a lot of suburbs next to major train stations, this one is actually really nice. It feels safe and is full of local cafes and tapas bars. For museum lovers this location is perfect as The Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofía are all just 10-15 minutes on foot - no taxis or buses needed. There are also two gorgeous parks to explore when it gets too hot.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The place looks great, is very comfortable, and has excellent facilities. Plus, the location is perfect—right next to the main train station. On top of that, the hairdryer was one of the best you can find in a hotel.

The only odd thing is how they chose to position the shower within the room. If you're staying with a friend or colleague, sharing a room might not be ideal—or at the very least, it could be an awkward experience. The shower is located in the middle of the room, with full visibility, offering no real privacy while in use.

The staff was so kind and considerate. The room was large and uber comfortable. The shower was among my favorites throughout our 87 days in Europe.

Would have liked a pool but that's a first-world problem. If this was the only issue then you can imagine how great this stay was. One more thing as an older American a place to get a simple soup or sandwich before 8 PM. would have made me happier. (Note: if you haven't been to Spain many restaurants close the kitchens after 2 PM or later and then dinner starts at 8 PM.)

Room size was comfortable and I was happy to have a washcloth! It was also nice to have coffee service in the room to start the day. We did not eat breakfast. We really appreciated being able to store our bags prior to check-in and the next day while we had a city tour!

I didn’t really like the automatic light in the toilet room, although, it wasn’t too bright when I went in the middle of the night.

Good spotlessly clean hotel in a good position for walking short distance to the cities attractions and Atocha train station.

Very slow check-in. Stood 25 minutes in front of receptionist whilst she entered info into computer for two pre-booked rooms. Cheap toilet rolls, expect better in a 4 star! Tiny cardboard cups for coffee machine.

The Breakfast was more than excellent. The lady looking after us at breakfast was very friendly. The reception staff were good made us welcome after our long flight (22hours). Even the taxi driver from the airport was very nice. Bed was comfortable. If I had to pick anything the floor in our room needs fixing. Didn’t efect our stay though. The shower room was good plenty of hot water. Thank you to the staff for ooking after us.

Lighting in bathroom was poor, shower products ran out but were not refilled, rooms were far from reception and tricky to get to, milk pods were not replaced, could not open or close curtains, noise from cleaners store room was disruptive
