location is excellent upon arriving our room was not the correct room set-up we had booked so we had to wait for our correct room to be ready. staff was extremely friendly and accommodating of this situation, which we really appreciated. hotel was undergoing remodeling in nearby floors/rooms which is obviously not ideal. sound insulation to hallway/other rooms could be better. did not try the restaurants and did not have time to go up to the terrace but the views up there are supposed to be very beautiful. overall recommended, but not "perfect".

Location is, by far, the best. Close to el Retiro but still in a quiet area in Salamanca / Goya which is in my opinion, one of the best neighborhoods in Madrid near downtown. The interior design of the lobby and bar is really nice and our room had an amazing view and where completely sound isolated. Rooftop is amazing.

While nothing was actually bad maybe some comments: Rooms are a bit small and dark in the wardrobe area. The cooling system of the mini bar in the room is not good (it overheats due to the small cabinet where it is); and the elevators are very very slow, hot and tiny. Everytime we needed the elevator we had to wait several minutes.

The hotel was in a good location and within walking distance of multiple metro stations, restaurants and of the retiro park. The hotel was very clean and smelled really nice.

There was very little place to lay by the pool and we also weren’t aware of the reservation system with the sunbeds. I would have liked if there were moe sunbeds and it might be handy to disclose that information at the check-in. But other than that I had a really great time.

First time in Madrid and first time in one of H10 hotels. I’m so satisfied with everything the hotel had to offer. The room, the cleaning, the service, the location and so on. The best was that it was so central located that we could by walk go everywhere. We took even the train to the airport which literally took us 20 minutes. Next time I’m in Madrid, H10 Puerta de Alcala will be my first choice again!

Everything was excellent except that the rooms had thin walls which could make us hear everyone outside especially the housekeeping team. Some of them were literally screaming and talking super loud outside which disturbed our “Power Nap” during the day!

Even though it did not have a view, the room was quiet and could be darkened easily for sleeping purposes. Retiro was very close and that was fantastic because we were able to go for walks in the mornings and evenings. It was also very easy to get to other points of interest in the city from our hotel.

The room was on the smaller side. The electricity went out a few times during our stay. However, we didn’t spend much time in the room other than to sleep and get ready.

Really nice staff - they couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast was excellent - I rarely enjoy breakfasts abroad but this had practically everything; scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sasages (spanish types but very nice) potatoes, ospanish omlete, cheese, ham, salami, a few types of bread, fruit, toast, butter, jam marmalade, cereals, various milk, cream, 3 capuccino/latte/coffee machines. Evening food was tapas Bar type but it was excellent, the teenagers with us loved it and we ate there 2 out of our 4 evenings. Fabulous roof-top bar Hotel is across the road from an excellent large park with lots to do there, botanical gardens about 15min walk away..., an underground station two minutes away, restaurants across the road, cafes, ice cream parlour, supermarkets ... everything you need.

No coffee or tea in our room - I'm being picky now and I probabl could have asked because our second room did have it. Pool is small.... Nothing else to complain about

The location is a little bit away from the busy tourist areas. You feel like you are in a real neighborhood. Though that does mean you will have to travel a little to get to the main museums and shops. Love the rooftop view and wish it was warm enough to try the pool. We had a lovely room with a nice view.

It attracts groups for conventions or conferences so it was crowded when we were there.

Location Terrace

1. Not enough security. Anyone had access to the elevators and the room floors. The doors did not have peepholes to identify who was knocking. 2. Reception staff could be more friendlier and welcoming 3. Coffee machines in breakfast area needs adjustment for coffee to dispense hotter. 4. No concierge to help plan

I loved the location, close to Parque El Retiro in the upscale Salamanca neighborhood, it was walking distance to El Prado, several churches and some great shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of dishes to choose from and good service. Fresh orange juice, diverse fresh fruit, organic coffee and a selection of breads, cheese, cereals and milk to choose from.

Wonderful breakfast!

Lobby area had a half flight of fairly steep stairs. Staff helped us upon arrival but not when getting our bags down on check out . Rooms were very small and there were no drawers and a very small closet (12 inches), making it impossible to unpack.
