The hotel is in a lovely area, Salamanca, with upscale restaurants and shopping. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to the Rubin Dario metro station, where the lime green line can be used to connect with many metro lines for accessibility to anywhere in the city. Its location was also a 15-20 minute walk to the museum area and also to lively Chueca. The staff at the hotel were very professional and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious with fresh fruit, yogurt, hot items such as eggs and bacon and many varieties of bread and pastries. There are 2 self-serve coffee machines for guest use. The room was comfortable and daily housekeeping provided clean towels and tidied sheets. The room had 2 large French doors opening to a French balcony for plenty of fresh air. The area was quiet at night.

It would have been helpful to either have a kettle in the room or to leave the coffee machines on all day so we could have had hot water for tea. When refreshing the rooms it would be helpful to provide at least one full roll of toilet paper when the other rolls are running low. When checking in, although we were provided with a map and some restaurant ideas, it would be VERY helpful to explain the the ABC Market, which is just uphill from the restaurant has an entrance on the lower street near the buses and metro and escalators that can take you up to the high street, where the hotel is located. Also ABC Market has a Mercadona food store within it and this would also have been very good information.

I chose this hotel due to its location near my conference venue. Little did I know that it is next to Calle Serrano, the poshest shopping street in Madrid, close to the Gucci, Tiffany's, Cartier etc. The hotel itself was quiet and lovely, the staff very polite. It is walking distance (about 600 m) from subway stations, and very close to the bus stops getting one either to the city centre (bus 74) or the Puerta Atocha train station (bus 19). Tickets can be bought from the driver. There are two supermarkets nearby, and a number of restaurants and cafes. All in all, a very good hotel in a very nice neighbourhood.

Lack of tea/coffee machine in the room, which seems to be common in many Spanish hotels.

Lovely twin room with very nice bathroom. Nice to have a door separating the bedroom from the emergency exit light! Good WiFi. Refrigerator in room. Perfect location for the Madrid Marathon -- we lined up for the race literally in front of the hotel. Great location for eating, shopping, and sightseeing as well.

The air conditioner didn't work -- it showed that it did, but blew warm air. Fortunately the weather was such that we were comfortable with the windows open. Very hard and large pillow, would be nice to have a choice.

Location is excellent. Very close to lots of metro stations which makes travelling across the city very easy. Lots of options for breakfast and definitely worth the small amount extra. Room was spacious and bathroom was great.

Doors were quite loud so if people were coming in late you could hear them entering / exiting their room.

The comfy bed and the spacious bathroom. Senor Alvaro at the reception was absolutely fabulous - very professional, very helpful, always smiling and extremely polite.

Our room was not soundproof at all. Breakfast was just the same every morning, not 4-star at all. There is room for improvement in this area.

+rooms are clean and spacious +there is a refrigerator and a convenient place in room for work with laptop +excellent location, next to the stunning Retiro park, shops, supermarket +nice and friendly staff

-breakfast is rather modest, you won’t be hungry but the choice is not big -it would be more convenient to have a normal blanket inside the duvet cover, and there was a blanket on top of the sheet

Due to the Farmers protest, I was unable to get a taxi to the hotel and ended up walking (with luggage) for 50 minutes. I told Pedro the receptionist about my journey. He was very sympathetic, offered me a bottle of water and gave me a free room upgrade. He also helped my connecting my laptop to the internet. The hotel is lucky to have such an employee. The suite was amazing.

Everything was great.

Good location and generally good room. Alvaro from the reception is great, but all others were rather unfriendly. I cut myself in the shower head, which was damaged.

The location was perfect for me as I needed to be close to family

The bed headboard is extremely uncomfortable as when you sit up against it you hit your head. It should be softer too rather than a hard surface. You can't really be comfortable reading or watching TV. The TV signal was also not good

The room was nicely decorated and quite spacious, providing ample space for relaxation. The bathroom was large and well-maintained, with all necessary amenities provided. The presence of a safe in the room was an added bonus, giving me peace of mind while traveling. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, always willing to assist with any queries or requests.

While the hotel's location was generally convenient, the steep incline of the street made it a bit challenging to walk up and down, especially with luggage.
