I had the perfect stay at Rampart View Guest House. From the moment I arrived, the owner and her family made me feel incredibly welcome and at home. They were kind, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable. The room was absolutely perfect—spotlessly clean, spacious, and with stunning views that made waking up morning a treat. It was a peaceful retreat, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. The terrace was another highlight. It was the perfect spot to relax in the evenings, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend Rampart View Guest House to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and comfortable stay. It was an unforgettable experience!

The location near Utrecht bastion is very scenic and the balcony overlooking the ramparts is superb. We enjoyed sitting there in the shade during the heat of the day, caressed by a cool breese from the sea. Staff was very friendly and the room was spotless.

The shower head could not be fixed to the wall, which made taking a shower a bit awkward. The shower cabin doors were a bit rusty and did not open and close easily. The sink leaked. On the whole the bathroom could do with a renovation, but fixing the shower head and the sink is the least they could do.

Fantastic view from terrace outside your room. Could watch locals and tourists walking by along the ramparts of Galle . Super lovely couple who have ran this place for over 15 years...they live downstairs. Easy to walk to everywhere in Galle plus the bus/train station

Galle has become a stop on the tour bus route...hence opening up of many overpriced, unfriendly restaurants and coffee shops with highly inflated prices to match in one street inside the moat. The local restaurants have now been moved out. Galle before this was super quiet . However this guesthouse despite being a bit old is great . Beds,were OK but not that supportive .

Great location right by the sea. Very friendly and welcoming staff, Sri Lbreakfast was delicious. Room was a great size with air-conditioning, a fan and tea/coffee facilities. Just for info - It wasn't clear how to get in, they use a small metal door on the Rampart Street side, I would knock on this and wait for someone to open it.

Room states a balcony which is present, but is communal and quite small. Roof top balcony has good views but nowhere/nothing to sit on.

The best thing about this property is its location- just adjacent to the rampart and bastion. You can enjoy the sea from your balcony and from the roof. The room has moderate furnitures and facilities. The AC worked well.

Our washroom width was merely about 1 meter which made it hard to move around. We find it little expensive comparing the facilities provided.

Great location for seaview sunset and people watching although you have to accept that you will also be a subject for all passers by to see you too from the ramparts. Great Sri Lankan breakfast. Asked what we would like so we were able to try different things.

Steep steps to access rooms.

The place initially looked run down a bit. However many lodges inside the Galle Fort have similar view from outside. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The host is very accommodating and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was really good and substantial.

We were okay with the place so nothing to comment here.

Great location with nice balcony to chill with a view.

Cleanliness definitely... the decorative pillows on the bed had very suspicious marks on them. The shower water makes it worth investing in a filter (it turned brown after the first shower).

The location is amazing and the fact that you can watch the sunset from your room or the roof terrace is unique, the air con and wifi work You get exactly what you are paying for your money. The owners are charming and super helpful

The bathroom could do with an update

Probably the best located hotel (guesthouse) in Galle right next to the Indian Ocean which you can see from the room s windows. The balcony where the breakfast is being served is fantastic. Even if it was very windy and rainy I sat there quite a lot time and enjoyed the view.

Very basic room needs renovation.
