After 6 nights at D Canal House we felt at home. The vila´s are very big, with all the comfort you can imagine. The beds are very comfy and the whole place is very authentic. We loved the pool in the lush, green garden. Watching the squirrels, birds and even flying peacocks was so relaxing. Amazing if you love nature. The place is in walking distance from the main street, but they also offer a free shuttle to the main road. So you can enjoy a peaceful environment close to the busy town of Mirissa. Staff is amazing with special thanks to Lahiru, Priyankara with the big smile and Milan. They offer great external activities at a great price. Breakfast was also amazing. For surfers, Weligama is only a 15 minute drive away and the perfect surfspot. Don´t doubt to book this place, it´s amazing!

Honestly, this is the best place I have ever stayed. There is literally nothing to complain about! Every single staff member went above and beyond, were so amazingly friendly and sincere. We stayed in one of the huts, which was enormous. There was even a fully stocked kitchen, which was great for making lunch. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was also spacious and it was so quiet and serene. The pool area was also another amazing aspect of this place. Always clean and calm. We found out that there was actually only 3 huts and 3 rooms above the main building, which meant that at times, you felt like you had the whole place to your self. As others have mentioned, it is a 15 minute walk to the beach - but that is not a problem at all. You can even catch a free tuk tuk to the main road, if you're too lazy to walk ;-) The breakfast was also delicious, and I swear, the man at breakfast makes the absolute best omelette I have ever had! Lahiru, Milan, the kind kind man at breakfast (I am so sorry, I forgot your name) and all the other staff was brilliant - thank you SO much! Please do yourself a favor and book this place - I promise, you will not regret it!

Beautiful hotel, pool area spotless. Gardens you walk through are stunning. Clean room with large comfortable bed. Staff were amazing - Lihero was so accessible via WhatsApp and arranged tuktuks for free to main road and gave many good recommendations. Free tea always available. You are welcome to stay after check out if not leaving til later in the day. Very quiet and peaceful.

Slightly further away from main road but tuktuks were not a problem. Is walkable but in heat very tiring! Our air con had a few issues but staff did help with this promptly. Stayed for breakfast one day but not the best, better to go out for food.

Loved everything about this place. Milan and the team were amazing, there for anything you needed. We stayed in the Haliconia bungalow for 5 nights and wanted to stay longer. Really big comfortable bed, full kitchen and big veranda. The pool was clean and a nice place to chill away from busy Mirissa without being too far. Only a 10 min walk from the beach and the free tuktuk shuttle was really handy, especially for hotter parts of the day. The gardens were well kept and on an evening they were lit with sort of fairy lights that made it feel magical. We will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The Canalhaus is a truly special place. It is romantic, lovingly designed, and tastefully integrated into the surrounding jungle. It also has a fantastic pool. The interior of the rooms is beautifully furnished with wooden furniture and cozy corners. The bed was very comfortable, and we especially liked the bathroom. The kitchen, with its colorful glass tiles, was exceptional and well-suited for self-catering. The fact that the entire area is illuminated at night, allowing you to walk through a forest of lights, was truly unique. The breakfast was perfectly fine. The service at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. We were given plenty of excursion recommendations, and every wish was anticipated. If there was a problem, it was addressed immediately. Whether we needed a driver, a taxi, or a tuk-tuk, everything was perfectly organized. Everyone was friendly and always had a smile on their face.

Our stay in D Canal House was amazing. It's the perfect place to stay in Mirissa. Away from the crowds but close enough to the city center. With the free tuk tuk service to the main road, we get there very easily in 5 minutes. The bedroom is super confortable, everything is very clean and the balcony has an amazing view for the pool and the garden. The surroundings of the hotel are very beautiful and well treated. The breakfast is probably the best we had in all Sri Lanka. The pool and the garden are amazing. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Always making sure that everything is perfect for us. Special thanks to Lahiru, who took care of everything regarding our stay, gave us a lot of sugestions and helped us a lot with the train to leave. Thank you to Priyankara who received us in the first day and was always so kind for us. It's an amazing place, with amazing staff and if we come back to mirissa that's where we want to stay!

Everything was amazing

The stay was amazing, the staff were so helpful! Arranging the whale watching tour for us etc and even letting us have a late breakfast after it! The breakfast was amazing, they make their own jam which was truly incredible and I bought 2 jars! I'll be sad once I've ate it all! The pool was perfect, and the free water was good near the pool. And the free tea and coffee throughout the day was a nice touch along with the cake! A nice touch they also arrange a free tuk tuk between 10am-7pm to the main road which is then walkable distance back to the hotel!

The room was very warm, there is AC but it doesn't work perfectly as the room isn't sealed.

We had the most delightful and memorable stay at D Canal House. All the staff were super friendly, generous and went above and beyond to make our trip special - particular shout out to Priyankara, Lahiru, and Milan, all of whom took special care of us. We were blown away with the hospitality. The breakfast was so delicious and throughout the day there is still water, coffee, tea and a yummy cake available. Priyankara cook the tastiest bacon we have ever had outside of the UK! Our room was clean; with good air conditioning and water pressure; comfy bed; lovely design and furniture; and a big balcony overlooking the pool. The outside area was tranquil with so much greenery and a big/clean pool that we thoroughly enjoyed using throughout our stay. They offer free Tuk Tuks to the main road in town until 7 pm but you could also walk (around 10-15 mins). Overall, it’s the best place I’ve stayed in a long while (and the best in Sri Lanka), and I highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Mirissa. We will definitely be back in the near future!

We stayed here for 4 nights as I wanted a special place to celebrate my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped through the gate we were warmly greeted by the staff before being shown around the premises by the informative Lahiru who also aced at organising tuktuks for us. The bungalow was massive and well kitted out with lovely furniture. Even though the property is quite new the forest is well established and it feels like you're in the jungle. We saw peacocks, monkeys and a monitor lizard even paid us a visit. We met the lovely Priya at breakfast and he was always on hand with his friendly smile to help us out whenever we needed anything. A shout out to Milan too who was a wealth of information whenever we asked for tips about the surrounding area. If we ever return to Mirissa I'm sure we'll be staying here again.

Just wow! This was our final stop of ten places we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka and we feel like we saved the best til last! Clean, fresh, beautiful and more! The gardens are so well kept, with beautiful water features and lighting in the evening that is just wow. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. From toiletries, air con, great balcony overlooking the pool and river, plus a a mosquito net around the bed just in case :) The pool was gorgeous, super quiet, loads of wildlife around to enjoy and just overall very calm and relaxing. Our breakfast was one of the best we have had and we really couldn’t have wished for a better place to finish our trip… Mirissa wasn’t for us, but good to see, so we were grateful to have such a wonderful place to stay before heading to Colombo for our flight home. Will definitely be back here again if we visit this area again.
