Brenda and Ron's accommodation is probably the cleanest and best maintained property that you'll see in Sri Lanka. It is decorated and set up like someone's home that they care about. You'll enjoy it They are friendly, helpful and available for you. The pool is great, nicest that we had and they had the first reliably hot showers that we found. There's is also an honesty fridge, free tea and coffee and a good breakfast. The rooms are well equipped and if you like a firm bed you'll be happy.

The room was quite close to the kitchen and as I'm a light sleeper I did get woken up very early due to preparation for breakfast. Not a problem for a heavier sleeper, or solved if you used ear plugs.

Ayubowan House is an oasis, a sanctuary in a great location, but protected from the city noise. A house well-loved by our fantastic hosts Rob & Brenda, who were very friendly & helpful, arranging a car from the airport ahead of our trip as well all local transport & tours we required, & a car to take us down south. The staff are lovely & the Sri-Lankan breakfast is a MUST - divine home-made spicy sambals, paratha & masala dosa :). We were really happy with their recommendation for dinner at Amra Leaf, authentic Sri Lankan away from the tourist strip, & also with excellent staff - so good that we went there 2 nights in a row. If we return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Rob & Brenda!

This is such an amazing, charming guesthouse! It has everything you’d need for a great stay, it’s beautiful and warm, and so welcoming! Breakfast is served on the veranda and those were some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had! The bed was comfy, the water pressure great and everything was sparkling clean. There’s coffee and tea and pool towels and I’m pretty sure the owners will go above and beyond for anything else you might need. Special mention to the lovely gardens and pool - the latter was a lifesaver with the hot and humid days! What truly made my stay special were the owners. Their hospitality was unmatched—you leave feeling like you’re saying goodbye to old friends, wishing you could see them again the next morning. They couldn’t have been more accommodating, from helping with transfers to offering a late breakfast after a very late arrival, to arranging a tuk-tuk for me when I left. All in all, it was an amazing stay, and will definitely return when back in the area!

We stayed one night after a red eye flight and it was the best welcome to Sri Lanka that we could have imagined. Brenda and Ron are great hosts and most helpful in organising transport etc. The house is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, room practical and comfortable (we had a room one the ground floor with terrace view which we enjoyed), beautiful outside space and pool and only a few minutes away from restaurants, cafés and the beach. In the morning, you can have a traditional Sri Lankan curry breakfast which is super delicious and not to be missed.

Ayubowan is an oasis that is located only 2 minutes walk from the main road and it's only a couple more minutes to the beach. The property is immaculately clean, has every facility you can wish for and the breakfasts are excellent. The owners, Brenda & Ron, could not be more helpful in respect of arranging tuk tuks, taxis etc and in providing local knowledge so you can make the most of your stay. In summary, we had a fabulous time and hopefully we'll be able to return in the not too distant future.

Great Shri-Lankan breakfast. Unfortunately, I was not there long enough to make use of the lovely pool. Hosts were wonderful, very informative & helpful wherever possible. The bed was comfortable, it was also a spacious room & bathroom. The location was superb, only a short walk to so many eateries & tourist shops

It was disappointing that i wasn't able to do a bank transfer to pay as I didn't realise i hadn't paid. It took a 30-minute detour, on the way to the airport for my flight to try to get money out of an ATM, which cost me an extra $5

We enjoyed our first night in Sri Lanka at Brenda and Ron's place. It was interesting to hear their perspective on Sri Lanka after living in the country for over 20 years and they are welcoming hosts. The room and bathroom are simple but have all the necessities. The garden and pool are lovely, and we enjoyed our Sri Lankan breakfast (though you can also choose a Western option). We also liked the location: it's on a quiet street but walking distance to many restaurants, shops, etc.

More expensive than other homestays in Sri Lanka but also better maintained.

A little Oasis in Negombo! This was the perfect guest house to start our holiday in Sri Lanka. Brenda and Ron are simply wonderful hosts, and alongside their lovely team of staff, we were looked after very well. We chose the Sri Lankan breakfast, which was delicious and plentiful. There is a good choice of restaurants locally, and Brenda and Ron are very helpful with local recommendations, including organising a 'rescue taxi' to take us to Anuradhapura when our self-booked taxi failed to arrive! Thank you, Brenda & Ron!

Have absolutely nothing negative to say about this property. Everything exceeded my hopes. I can heartily recommend this place to anyone visting Negombo. Brenda and Rob are absolutely amazing and kind people who made me feel very welcome. Really got my few days of rest and relaxing here, for the end of my Sri Lanka trip. The hosts also helped on arranging the airport transfer late night etc. Location is good, nice reastaurants close as well as the beach. Property itself was as presented in booking.com pictures and description. Breakfest was very good having the option of english breakfest or Sri Lankan breakfest. Bed was comfy and it was silent during night time. The place is very nicely decorated and garden is beautiful.

Maybe there could be more than two sun beds at the pool. Also a mosquito net might be nice. And a safety box is something that I personally missed.

This was one of our favourite overnight places to stay in Sri Lanka. It was like being in a perfect oasis of calm with a beautiful garden and pool. Breakfast was amazing and the room had everything we needed. The hosts were most helpful with local advice and bus options and we happily used their tuk tuk driver. We walked to the beach, found the atm and had a good local evening meal out. A really good start to our travels.
