I spent 4 days in Blue Elephant Boutique Hotel My room was lovely Very spacious and very clean and my bed was very comfortable The staff are really nice and very accommodating Jaan on reception is so sweet and so very helpful with everything plus all the other staff too The hotel is absolutely amazing and very unique in it's Sri Lanka design The Sri Lanka breakfast was delicious Thankyou so much to you all I shall be back before I leave Sri Lanka 😊

It was raining most of the time I was there therefore I had no hot water in my bathroom because they have solar panels which was the only downfall

The room was comfortable and spacious and the bed was comfy. The restaurant/bar had a good atmosphere, nice appropriate music during the day and the food and staff were nice. The pool area was relaxing, the decking could have been a little wider to allow for more sunbeds. Towels and cushions were provided by the pool. Most of the staff were great, very responsive though some seemed a little inexperienced. One staff member really stood out for us, Subash. He was always asking how we were, was very engaging and really impressive in his attitude to customer services. We were late arriving due to delayed flight and he was very welcoming and helpful. The location is great, it’s lovely and quiet, yet a 10min walk to all the bars, restaurants and beach.

With a few little tweaks, this could have been a 10/10. Firstly, if there is nobody manning the phones overnight, could you turn them onto voicemail? Every night the phone rang several times, often at 2/3/4am, and woke us up (it’s a loud ring and echoes, no one ever answers it so it rings and rings, though we were closest to reception). Secondly, the shower head could be bigger? It was tiny for the size of shower. Thirdly, the wifi was very weak and intermittent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Elephant. We had a large balcony over looking the local area. The room was spacious with a cupboard, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, comfortable bed with nice towels. The pool area clean and spacious. Their restaurant, The Tusk offered a great menu at reasonable prices. Their presentation of their dishes was great. We eat there several times over our stay. Our included breakfast was delicious and available whenever we came down. The highlight for us was their staff, always happy, always attentive and always there.

The people who worked there were so friendly. I’d like to give a big shout out to Subash, Eranga and Nishara for being amazing and kind and taking care of me really well. I forgot to let them know that I was allergic to pineapple so they went out of their way to make sure I got juice without pineapple in it. They were always so pleasant and friendly and they made my stay very memorable. The food was also very good. I really enjoyed all the meals I had there and personally I believe the food at Blue Elephant was better than the food at a 5 star hotel we had a meal at. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were comfortable.

There wasn’t a lot of hot water because it’s solar energy but this was just a minor inconvenience.

Staff go over and above for you. So so friendly and happy. Room is so much larger than it looks and bed is so comfy. AC works well. Room is painted by hand and decor is so sweet. Tusk restaurant is very good food and reasonable price. Jolly mango next door is massive portions and very good also. 10 mins walk to beach and shops.

Breakfast was a bit meh and could be improved. Water refill could be added to avoid all plastic bottle waste. WiFi was good when it worked but constantly cut out. There's a 3% charge to use card which is unnecessary.

Stayed here for a couple of night just to acclimatise really. Felt very welcome from the outset - very chilled relaxed vibe. Lovely big room with fabulous private balcony and the staff were amazing . Perfect location - easy walking distance to the beach and plenty of restaurants close by plus only 20 minutes from the airport. Negombo itself was a revelation, really enjoyed our time there. 5* treatment from all the staff .

The room and hotel in general a little bit outdated here and there We booked this hotel for the night of arrival and I sent them a message to ask if the restaurant was open that night as we were travelling with kids but upon arrival the restaurant appeared to be closed due to public holidays. There were dining options close by and it all worked out in the end but if we had known beforehand we would have stopped somewhere on the road

We loved everything about this property from the design and decor to the beautiful pool. The property was spotlessly clean inside and out. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The owner and his staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was also great. We had dinner in Tusk both nights, there’s lots of choice and the food was cooked beautifully. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back when we return. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful

Absolutely nothing

An authentic hotel with a nice feel, we stayed only one night but were not disappointed, nice food, alcohol served here, a pool, rooms basic but nice and plenty of room - for a small local hotel perfectly OK.

Nothing really for the price we were paying we think very fair - we enjoyed our food there and the people, we were lucky to have music/a guitar player that night and a local festival for the church so everything lit up and we felt looked after and safe etc.

Lovely decoration and beautiful interiors. Lovely pool and a nice restaurant next door run by them! Staff were super friendly and welcomed us with a smoothie when we arrived. We enjoyed the pool a lot! Location was quiet and close to the beach about 10 mins walk.

The only thing we didn’t like is the room smelt a little damp and there were some bugs which is hard to avoid. Air con semi worked but they had a fan.
