This was our final stop before we headed home, and what a lovely hotel. As we were only here for one night, we did not explore too much of the local area, just the beach, which was a bit disappointing after being on the beaches in the south, however we made the most of the hotel and its facilities. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the gentleman working on reception who allowed us to keep our room on for a couple of hours extra, so we could make the most of the pool and have lunch before our flight home, it was very much appreciated. The pool is large and very clean. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was great with a large number of dishes on offer. This is a great hotel to chill out before or after a flight, that provides a very warm welcome from all the staff.

Easy 5 stars for service. Every staff member was so helpful, friendly, and genuine. Went above and beyond for us. Special mention to Heshan, who was super helpful and very fun to chat to. Facilities: whatever you need in a good hotel. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, safe, refrigerator, TV with around 40 channels in a variety of channels. We got a king size bed that could easily sleep 3, and was very comfortable. Everything was perfectly clean. The bathroom was gleaming! Sheets smelled good and freshly laundered. We opted for the buffet breakfast. Good variety, good taste. The restaurant is outdoor seating, right by the pool, which was a nice experience. There is a bar and lounge seating there as well. Loved the decor and style of the place. So charming, so lovely. Our room had high ceilings, which was wonderful!

Location might be a little obscure—all our tuk tuk drivers had to follow Maps. After it rained, the direct street to the beachfront went underwater, so we had to take a detour. No lift; my elderly father had to climb two flights of stairs to reach our rooms

The room and bathroom was very modern and spacious. The kingsize bed was firm and comfortable with good bedding. The hotel is located in a quiet back street close to the beach and restaurants and within striking distance of the airport which was the main reason I chose to stay there. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the manager Mr. Sirisinghe earned extra credit for organizing a late check out for a reasonable fee. Although breakfast is not included in the price, the breakfast buffet is good value for money and offers a wide variety of western and sri lankan choices.

Fabulous hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights before flying. We originally booked a deluxe room but the shower wasn’t working so they upgraded us to a suite overlooking the pool, the first room was lovely but wow the suite was amazing. Rooms cleaned everyday. Great pool and garden area. The location is close to restaurants. The staff are all super attentive and friendly. Only bad side is the laundry (1600rp per kg) and food is very expensive here, but I guess it was to be expected. Everything you purchase is plus 10%. One night loud music was played right below us until 11:30PM which was a bit annoying…

The staff was very nice, the room had a good size with a big separate outdoor room with a bathtub. It's max a 10 min walk to the beach and 5 to the main road with shops, bars, and restaurants. We didn't go to the beach but preferred to spend our last night in Sri Lanka relaxing at the pool. It was a nice hotel and location to spend your first or last night in Sri Lanka since it's only 25 min in car from the airport. We left at 4 am and also got breakfast to go.

After having booked our room, we received a mail from the hotel where they asked for a bank transfer of 50% the room price in order to guarantee the booking. This seems like a strange request since booking.com had already sent us the booking confirmation. That should be enough. Asking for a bank transfer seems quite overreacting, complicated, and outdated. We just answered that we would pay upon arrival, and the hotel accepted this with no discussion, so I don't really know why they even bother asking for the bank transfer in the first place. With that said, we did enjoy our stay, and the staff was very friendly

Friendly welcome at reception  and the staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Large clean room, with a big double shower and good air conditioning. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of choices to suit all tastes e.g. eggs cooked to order. The bar and pool area were nice lovely and relaxing. Lots of comfy sofas and loungers to use, with attentive staff on hand  to supply refreshments. 5 minute walk to the huge beach and lots of restaurants  nearby too All in all a good hotel for the price

This sounds so petty, but the paintwork on the door to our room was very grubby. Strange when everything else was clean!

We spent two nights here over New Years 2024/2025. We can definitely recommend Seahorse with its super-friendly staff. In particular Enoch, Sasidu and Budhini made sure to answer every question and made us feel very welcome. The garden and pool area is well kept and perfect for a few hours of lazy hanging around. We did not have dinner there but I am sure the food would be good. The breakfast was a buffet that included more or less everything you could with for, including eggs prepared to your liking. It was very close to the beach and main road too. We walked there in a few minutes.

The breakfast was good (the usual fresh fruit, freshly made omelette, pastries and other cooked options). The room was amazing on first view - very spacious with a spa bath! - but had a couple of issues (see below). The staff were lovely. It was just around the corner from Tuk Tuk Wine & Dine where I had a delicious and inexpensive fish curry for lunch. I went back in the evening for a cocktail and live music.

Location-wise it was a bit far from the beach. I walked but had to detour because of flooded streets! And then the beach was disappointing (wrong time of year). The spa bath looked great but I didn't fill it enough (that would take a lot of water) so when I turned it on the water sprayed everywhere (very funny). The desk was a bit cramped with the tea and coffee facilities there as well, but I'm always happy to have a desk. There were no hangers in the wardrobe.

From the moment we arrived at the Sea Horse Hotel and Spa, we were immersed in pure luxury and relaxation. The hotel’s location, nestled near the beach in Negombo, offers breathtaking views and a serene ambiance, perfect for anyone looking to unwind. The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after a day of exploring. The attention to detail in the design, from the plush linens to the well-appointed bathroom, was truly top-notch.

This is a hidden gem in Negambo. I had doubts when we fist arrived at the gate but once we went inside, it opened up to a little paradise. Hats off to all staff from the reception to restaurant. They made sure our stay was comfortable and even entertained our ad-hoc meal requests. The rooms were clean and spacious. Even the bathrooms were huge. The pool helped us to cool down and keep the kids entertained. The restaurant have a good ala-carte menu with lots of options. We choose to go to a near by 4-star hotel for the lunch buffet one of the days, which was 5 mins away. On the day we were going to the airport, the bell boys helped us to weigh our luggage using the hotel's scale. I would highly recommend Seahorse Hotel to anyone.
