Gomez Place was perfect from the time we booked, correspondence, airport pick up and helping us with our onward travel. The property is beautiful, the staff are very welcoming and Gomez himself is an amazing host! No request was ever a problem. If your heading to Negombo - you should stay at Gomez Place. Gomez’s Place is ‘child free’, open-minded, welcoming accommodation located in the northern part of Negombo. After some initial hiccups (poor wifi and cold water) that were quickly resolved by our hosts, the accommodation offered all that was expected in the relative sanctuary from the touristic traps that are the Negombo environs. The rooms are generously sized and very well apportioned (and clean!!!), especially when compared other similarly priced accommodation in Sri Lanka. The rooms also had both aircon and a ceiling fan, which seemed a rare thing in this country. The breakfast was ample and tasty (toast, fruit, coffee, tea, and eggs cooked as you like them), and the pool – while not the biggest – was an absolute godsend. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially our host Gomez who helped us with all our requests and enquiries, including arranging airport transfers. Thanks Gomez, you’re a star!

Nothing, it was all excellent.

This hotel was so so so beautiful. We had a very clean and big room with a beautiful bathroom. The interior looked so nice and the decoration outside was also so nice. It was only 20 minutes from the airport by car. The workers were so helpful and kind. The hotel had a nice pool where I could take a swim from time to time. We loved to spent time and relax in the hotel. Gomez is a very nice host! I would definitely recommend this place especially when you arrive to Sri Lanka! This is a perfect start for the holidays.

Gomez Place is an absolute gem. I had a lovely room that opened onto a lush garden. The grounds here are beautiful and very well maintained. There are also rooms here that face the pool as well as many with terraces. I loved the bathroom in my room. It was part indoor and part outdoor, yet still maintained a sense of complete privacy. I slept well here. Comfortable rooms, good a/c and a quiet that brought serenity. Mr. Gomez is a wonderful host who goes over-the-top to meet all your needs. And the staff, especially Mr. Tharusha, are friendly, pleasant, and ready to assist. Also, my early arrival was graciously accommodated. I am looking forward to my next visit. Highly Recommended!

The breakfast was freshly prepared each day, the staff were very helpful & Mr Gomez went the extra mile, organising transport & giving advice. The pool, tho'smallish, was always clean with fresh towels, and the garden was original and a real treat!

I don't think the hotel could have been better. It's a pity that several of the streets in the area get flooded at certain points. They require massive works which the government cannot afford. This didn't impede access to the hotel itself, however.

Phenomenal stay at Gomez Place! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are very spacious (including a very large bathroom), clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent each morning. Location is just a short walk from the beach and the main road that is filled with nice restaurants, bars, and stores. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. But the best thing about this place is Gomez himself. He is such a great guy and will do anything to make sure your stay is perfect. If you need anything, he will make sure you get it. The hospitality is wonderful. You will feel right at home. Can't wait to stay here again!

Not really anything. The stay was amazing!

We stayed here twice at the beginning and ens of our trip to Sri Lanka. The first room offered was not good but a quick objection and a much better room was found for us as we had booked the better quality rooms. The beds are large and comfortable and the showers worked well with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good, not enormous but very adequate, fruit, omelette, good coffee and toast. There is a very nice, though small pool which was always quiet when we used it. The garden here is absolutely beautiful and is obviously very cared for.

There is building work going on and this did disturb us but Mr Gomez took action and got the builders doing quieter tasks until we went out. It might be worth asking for a room in the main house for the next few weeks. However the rooms affected by building noise are otherwise very nice, very large and the most modern so it’s a trade off. I think it will be a fairly temporary issue.

Good place where you can feel completely relaxed. A pleasant pool with cool water is ideal for refreshing in the hot hours. The staff is very helpful and you can contact them with any question like a friend. The room was large, cool, had a safe, AC, refrigerator, hot water. The beach is close, as well as shops, souvenir shops and various restaurants. The choice is wide, from Asian cuisine to Italian. There is also KFC nearby, easily accessible by tuk tuk. In general, Negombo is a good place, the ocean is not very clean but there are a lot of activities.

Owner and staff are brilliant - we arrived extremely early (530am) expecting to have to wait until it opened later in the morning only to find they opened up for us and already had the room waiting - after an 8 hr overnight journey that was most welcome. Helped with information and booking the various trips we went on as well as the taxi back to the airport. 10/10

Gomez place is clean and comfortable. Its a good place to stay with like minded other travelers, in a country which is not always open minded towards our community. Gomez himself is very welcoming, and cares about his guests. Breakfast is top notch, the pool is deep enough to jump in, and the location is excellent. I got a TukTuk to the airport from there by one of the staff which was very affordable. A perfect place to begin or end your Sri Lanka holiday.
