We have stayed in 8 hotels during our trip, the dickman was the best one, with staff it had 2 compete with 2 other really great ones, but they won. The guys who work there are absolutely amazing, treated us like a King and queen and we had a lot of fun with them. The first night my matrass wasnt good, they told me the next morning i should have come to them straight away as they would have solved it, even in the middle of the night. The hotel was the best spot i could have picked for the last few days, it's a little colorful paradise, it was very very clean and with eye for detail. I love the vibrant colors, we got a deluxe room with pool entrance. The pool was nice and clean, the rooms spaceous and well decorated. Breakfast was really good with enough options. The cocktails were lovely. Definitely would go here again. Massive thanks for the wonderful staff

There were just a few tiny things, but didnt impact the experience. We thought the beds were to hard. The wicker blinders on the outside could do with replacement and at some places it could do with a lick of new paint. Nothing major and definitely didnt impact any of the relaxation and joy staying there

Very nice Place to stay ,especially for gays! The staff is very kind & very helpful. From check-in until the check- out, everthing was well organized and professionally handeld We were there over Singhalese New Year and a lot of shops were closed. But everybody helped and organized everthing we needed. The rooms are big, very well equipped and very clean, like the completed hotel area. The breakfast was also good: Eggs, Omelette,Pancakes, Fruit platter… You also can play Pool billiard or invite friends to join you in the pool area. Easy going, chilled place only few meters from the nice big beach. We looking forward to come back asap! Greetings Simon ❤️Mike

It's such a gorgeous place to stay. We stayed in lots of cheap and cheerful places whilst travelling around Sri Lanka but decided to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury before we flew home. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The pool and bar are open 24 hours a day so it was really novel having a swim after dinner at midnight. The cocktails are strong and really yummy. The breakfast was huge, starting with a plate of lovely fresh fruits and then they made us vegan curry with bread and hoppers. There's a pool table which was fun to play on. We stayed in the aqua room with pool view. The bed was massive, it was like sleeping in different postcodes! The location was on a back road 2min walk to the seafront and main road, very safe every 24hrs a day by ringing the bell. Lots of places to eat nearby.

There was only a mirror in the bathroom and no plug sockets in there so really difficult to do my hair! A mirror on the desk area would be perfect. Negombo itself was the most touristy place we stayed and our least favourite, but Dickman was an oasis that we would definitely go back to!

Every staff member was warm, witty, and professional, making us feel like VIP guests rather than just visitors. It’s rare to find a team so well-trained in the finer details of hospitality. The gated buzzer entry ensures exclusivity. Location easy walk to restaurants,beach. Spa massages a MUST !! Breakfast - delicious and plentiful! The biggest luxury! No kids! As an adults-only resort, the atmosphere remains peaceful, intimate, and indulgent. The rooms are spacious, each with its own character. We stayed in the Red Room, which oozed romance while still carrying a masculine edge. This place delivers exactly what it promises: stylish, modern oasis, bold, chic aesthetics, impeccable attention to detail, and a truly boutique experience from the moment we arrived .

The staff at the Dickman Resort were fabulous, friendly, helpful and kind. They gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat and also helped arrange a massage at a nearby facility that was amazing. We stayed in the Mango Suite (yellow) which was very well appointed. The bed was huge and comfortable. The pool was clean, deep and refreshing. The pet turtles that roam the grounds were cute. Breakfast was very good, fruit, eggs and toast. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying there.

We were blown away by this place. We had already spent two weeks travelling around Sri Lanka, spent two months travelling around Europe and Morocco and were flying home for a final stopover back in Sri Lanka. We rated this hands down as the most friendly and welcoming place we stayed at during the whole trip. Unfortunately in this day and age most properties we stayed in had been “virtual “, no people, just a QR code or app to get in and out, nice inside but usually sterile and soulless and sadly lacking in any local information .So to arrive at this boutique hotel immediately put a smile on our faces. We will definitely be back to Sri Lanka and our first and last stop will be here.

For a solo female traveller this property was perfect. The staff we friendly, helpful and as a solo female traveller I felt safe and 100% comfortable. I booked the red room- way too big for a solo traveller but I loved it- felt like a queen! There’s even a few animals on-site- a couple of tortoises who love some basil. I walked down to the 5* properties on the beach and I highly recommend you give them a miss (crows!!!!) and stay here.

I wouldn’t fault it, anything that was lacking was made up for by the warmth of the staff.

Firstly I loved the Hotel and the rooms. Because as a solo traveller in all I stayed in a fantastic selection of rooms. Then the hotel front desk office staff were excellent especially Thilina, then my rock Damith and the reservations Manager Danu. Also my thanks go to the Mr Dick Deekman who helped me stay in the resort longer because of delays travelling into India (December 2023). The breakfast called the Royal Dickman Breakfast was excellent. The fruit platter, Sri Lankan Omelette and Mango juice was so good. The service was also of a very high standard from all the team working together. I sat around the pool for six days and who could resist the weather, complimentary watermelon slices and ice cold smoothies by the pool.

There was nothing to dislike really.

Wonderful guesthouse in pleasant Negombo. Conversely located 5 mins from the Main Street and the beach. Tons of restaurants and bars to choose from there. 20 mins by car from the airport. 1 hour to Colombo. A perfect little oasis to rest, unwind and ease into your holiday. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Big pool. Lovely cafe/bar. Great value for money. Felt safe and well taken care of. Staff is stellar! Professional, pleasant, helpful! Loved them all, and plan to return.

Breakfast: the fruit plate was so good with usually 5 fruits included - tasty and fresh. Also it was available from 8 until gone 12. There was a range of both sri lankan and English/European breakfast. Coffee good too. Pool was available all the time, warmish with comfy beds/towels Room - spacious and light; large bed with cool clean bedding - very comfortable Staff - very responsive - always ready to help, cheerful, attentive. Reception staff organised trips, taxis, etc. Evening staff - ordered in food for us and arranged table, etc. Ambiance - quiet, beautifully and very tastefully arranged.
