The hotel is right on Negombo beach , It’s great for a night or two despite the price. The restaurant has a fantastic buffet Food is plenty and delicious . It has nice refurbished rooms with balconies , Two great swimming pools and a pleasant setting But avoid weekends when locals literally invade the premises and goes into the swimming pools fully dressed in family , that’s the bad side of this hotel when you want to have a quiet break after a tour of Sri Lanka . Also the checking can be long and painful when groups arrive at the same time.

Checking in can be long and fastidious . You can only get the rooms around 2pm if the hotel is full. Swimming pools can be packed with locals on the weekends , on those days it gets very busy and very noisy and it will make your stay unpleasant.

Very nicely located hotel. Two swimming pools. On the beach front. I got free upgrade from old part of hotel to new one. Also I got free early check-in. I was moving from previous very bad hotel. So Camelot really saved me. Room was nice and big, with sea view. Also hotel restaurant is not overpriced and food was very good. And what about breakfast? Breakfast was absolutely the best for my whole 3 weeks stay in Sri Lanka.

Air-conditioning wasn't really working well and was quite hot in the room. There was kind of smell in the room. And wasn't able to fix it. When you are sitting near the pool which is closer to the beach, you are constantly approach by local beach sellers and you cannot really rest. Just walking there is triggering them. So I recommend to stay in the pool near dining area.

The staff were very attentive and kind, we were always greeted with a smile. The service was amazing. We were recognised by reception staff upon our next stay which was so nice! The wait staff in the restaurant were amazing, very lovely and helpful. I loved the style of the coastal deluxe room I stayed in, it was very nicely designed with lots of space, my own sofa, recessed lighting behind the bed and the bathroom design was beautiful with recessed lighting in all the right places. The view from my balcony looking over the pool, palm trees and beach, was stunning. Good security on site. Definitely could place this property as a 4 star hotel. The pool area was fantastic, I spent most days on a lounger overlooking the beach or in the pool. The food was good value and delicious, definitely have the steak sandwich if you can. Also the breakfast was possibly one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had in Sri Lanka, not too much food and not too little but a great range. Loved the refrigeration room with cold foods, very nice touch!

Mostly perfect for the price! The only three things I could possibly comment on were the craftsmanship of the renovations in the rooms could have been finished better and that would have definitely made this property a 4 star hotel. The pool bar could be renovated to suit the style of the hotel more eg. woods, recessed lighting, better use of overhead space behind the bar. The balinese spa was expensive for this property.

Fantastic hotel in great location for exploring Negombo, and/or short stay at beginning//end of trip. Lovely pools and by beach, and only 30-40 mins from airport (or less if your driver realises your flight is soon!!) Staff were plentiful, attentive and friendly and made our stay fantastic. Breakfast is amazing - pastries, bread, continental, fruits, fruit juices (in a "cool room") sausages, fried tomatoes etc plus omlettes made to order, and wide range of Sri Lankan food. We were 1/2 board and evening meal was 4 course menu some nights and buffet another - all excellent. We bought lunch from pool bar, good food, but not quite as cheap as it appears as they add around 30% (service charge, taxes etc) but still good value.

Everything was fantastic! (Beach vendors are persistent and a bit annoying but its small price to pay for loungers by the far pool and fantastic view over beach to the ocean!)

Beautifully situated on the beach with safe swimming pools, restaurant and kind staff. Clean. Comfortable beds. Airport transfers easily organised and promptly done. Staff very calm and respectful when dealing with upset customers.

There appears to be a level of disorganisation. On check in I asked if I would need to change rooms for my second night which was after family left, so I was solo. I was told ‘No’. But the next day I was locked out of my room, then asked several times if I was staying and finally told I had to move rooms or pay more. New room had very noisy and early air con. After several staff telling me it was normal, a maintenance man turned up, cleaned the filters and it was much improved. Wifi slow and almost unusable.

Hotel is right on the beach, with a very relaxing garden. The 2 pools have lots of beds and the coconut trees give a very relaxed feeling. The bar serves delicious meals all day too. Breakfast is fantastic - amazing selection in a beautiful lounge, facing the sea. Rooms are large, clean and with lovely balconies. Staff are so helpful and friendly too - they were fantastic! There is also a spa - I loved having a massage there. There are lots of shops and restaurants to walk to as well. Loved our time here and would recommend it as a great experience and so handy for the airport.

Wifi in room was quite weak - although strong elsewhere. It would be good to have refillable toiletries rather than small plastic bottles, to save plastic use.

The staff were fantastic. On our last day my wife found she had a problem with her back. We were very concerned about getting home because we didn't know if she would be able to fly. The staff all did everything they could to help and to make her more comfortable. They helped with our insurer, they arranged a doctor to visit the hotel, they moved our room to one on the ground floor, they helped me to support her walking.... They are all really genuine caring people. The hotel is comfortable, beds are comfortable, the food is amazing. I really have nothing critical to say about this place. I look forward to visiting in the future.

There is nothing not to like.

Well located close to shops and cafes. Very friendly and accommodating staff who couldn’t do enough to attend to our needs. We had 2 rooms and one of them had a great view over the pool area and the beach. The rooms are quite large and the bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast was excellent as were the other meals we had at the hotel.

The design of the shower recess in the bathroom almost guarantees that the entire bathroom gets wet when you have a shower. The room occupied by my son and his girlfriend had an issue with condensation. They were leaving the next morning on a tour so we didn’t bother changing rooms.
