Hotel is in the historic centre of the place celebrating Switzerlands hero Willhelm Tell, and is proud of its own history. Goethe stayed here and the rooms have been renovated with taste and attention to detail - including the anecdotal door knobs. The off season management is practical and friendly, all clean, generous space and comfortable, the breakfast healthy and good.

The hotel is right on a busy road - the risk well managed with triple glazed windows - we were lucky that we could keep them closed at night in October. In hot summer noise may be an issue.

The breakfast was very nice, as was the woman working there. The restaurant itself is really handsome, inside and out, a very pleasant place for a meal. The Goethe room is large and the beds comfortable. The attached bath is small, but completely adequate. The genuine antique furniture is very pretty. The very old, historic building is quirky and charming.

The Goethe room is a corner room, right on the street, which was very noisy until quite late on a June Saturday night, though the copious windows have good sound insulation. Open windows at night were a no-go,, however. Sounds from above and from the halls, like creaking floors and opening and closing doors is somewhat intrusive.The sound of other guests going to the shared facilities at night and early morning is very noticeable. The rather loud bathroom fan is activated by the light switch and runs for an excessive length of time.

Helpful to sort out a late check in when my train was delayed, though the check in hours are quite short so I expect they have to do this not infrequently. Quite pretty place, and the room was very large and nice.

The arrangement not to have a reception desk does put some extra work on the staff. Just rename the breakfast bar into "Bar and Reception", to be honest.

The place is modest but clean and handy. The breakfast offers a nice variety and is served in the nice room used as a restaurant. I travelled with my cat and was not informed of an extra fee via email that was asked though at the arrival. Fortunately they resolved the misunderstanding and lifted the 15ch fee. It was appreciated.

Central location. Walking distance from everything in the city centre including tourist attractions, shops and restaurants but just to be noted thatnthe train station is 20 minutes away by foot from the centre.

Next to the main road so some noise. Twi churches rang every 15 minutes all through the night.

Easy to find. Central location in the town. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful.

Parking is behind the hotel and a small area. Steps leading down from the car park to the side door of the hotel made it more difficult to move belongings from to and from the car. Food and drinks served very well but we found them to be more expensive than anticipated.

Lovely big bedroom with chez longe and able to open windows for fresh air .

Washbasin for toilet is in the corridor- not very private for cleaning your teeth ! However better bathroom on ground floor

Central location, near bus stop, nicely renovated old house. Inviting brunch location. Nice courtyard terrace with a view of the church. Fine breakfast in elegantly renovated lofty stable. Good bar with bartender who knows his good, also local (!) wines.

A bit noisy due to location near busy main road, but it got quieter at night (even on Saturday) except for occasional people crowding nearby from bars, probably. Rooms and bathrooms are not totally up to standard for the rate (compared to hotels in the region with similar rates)

Central location ! Very nice people in the restaurant for dinner and the Breakfast Included! My spouse has diet restrictions, and staff helped with menu changes. Quiet and comfortable!
