A family owned hotel since the 1800s and it shows. Pride in ownership and all sorts of fun and authentic touches make this a great place to stay fir the real "Swiss Feel". Where else will you get an actual silver service with your meals? So close to everything we wanted to do during our short stay. The owners/staff were first rate and super helpful. You can even buy your tickets for many attractions right at the front desk!

There was very little to complain about, but being from the USA, I am of course spoiled. The bathroom could have been bigger. It was similar to the bathroom on a cruise ship. Shower was quite tight and I am average sized. It was certainly fine for our stay, but could be a problem if you are a larger person.

I am so glad that we came upon an opening here! Look no further, book this hotel! We loved the location at the quieter end of Grindelwald. You'll appreciate the peace of being away from the center of town when you enjoy the views from your balcony or when you have your windows open at night. The dining room boasted had beautiful views and the dinners were quite affordable and 5-star (four courses). The service was incredible from the wait staff to the owners who are at the front desk all day. The owners helped us plan our day and sold us transportation tickets (same price, no lines). Make sure you get off at Allmend station and walk into Wengen to experience the cows and their bells! At the end of our daily wanderings, we enjoyed happy hour in either one of the lounges or on the front porch. The room was quite comfortable and spacious. This is a little piece of heaven that we cannot wait to experience again.

This was our best stay out of 5 places in Switzerland! The hotel and our room (27) were FIRST CLASS. Our wrap-around balcony had views of mountains with glaciers. The room was quiet and spacious. We ended up eating the price-fixed dinner at their restaurant twice because it was so good. The owner even picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. And Grindelwald is a fabulous destination - far better than Zermatt. We are returning!!!

Hotel Gletschergarten has to be one of the nicest hotels in all Grindelwald. This was our second time staying here and it was even better then the first. It is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Its's in a fantastic location with breathtaking views. The primary room and bathroom were clean, modern and functional. The breakfast was excellent and the dining area is a beatuiful venue with great views. The owners, Gabriela and Gery were so helpful and nice. They even helped us by purchasing our tickets to some of the local attractions. I can't say enough about the staff. They were extremely friendly and nice. We had a car and parking in Grindelvwald can be quite difficult to find. We were very pleased that we could park at the hotel and it was very refreshing that we weren't charged a daily fee for it. Everything is great about this hotel! We strongly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Grindelwald. We enjoyed it so much we plan on staying there again next summer when we return to this beautiful area!

Can't say one thing bad about our stay.

The view was fantastic and we loved having a balcony to sit out at night in the cool air and look out over the mountains and country side. Breakfast was incredible, served on linen table cloths with china tea and coffer cups and tea and coffee and milk served in individual silver servings. The ladies who served breakfast were so kind and professional.

The only downside is that there were many flies at breakfast due to the fact that the doors were left open to bring in the cool mountain air.

An exceptional family-run hotel full of charm and natural beauty. Our rooms were spotless, recently renovated, and featured a spacious balcony with stunning views of the mountains and surrounding landscape. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay.

Gabriela and Gery are super nice and friendly hosts. Our flight got late to Zurich so we could only arrive Grindelwald nearly 9pm. We messaged the host informing them our late arrival, and they replied they could send a shuttle to pick us from train station (with charge at 15 chf). Anyway, they gave us a very warm welcoming, lovely hotel with a lot of history. Amazing view from the balcony, great location (just a few miles from FIRST station and Pfingstegg station). Good breakfast. We bought the FIRST tickets (package with 2 activities included) from them so we saved time to take the long queue at the ticket office. We also used their washer and dryer (each load at 5 chf). I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hosts were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed most of facilities provided. I asked for breakfast to be packed for an early day the night before and they gave me a decent meal! Balcony is spacious and room is sufficient as well. The bed was extremely comfy and there were 3 curtains to ensure sufficient sleep. The place is nestled just off the main area making it a prime location to access the town but to also have a peaceful stay. The place has a lift as well.

The shower was too small because the doors fold inwards. It would be great to have a towel rail close to the shower as well as a shower rack.

The outside of the hotel is actually even more beautiful than in the picture! The room was nice, clean, and the bed was comfy. The staff was kind and helpful with our requests. Our favourite thing was the AMAZING view of the glacier from our (shared) terrace!

The waitresses were a bit "lost", and noone could make the drink we ordered from the menü. We were very excited about the dinner because it sounded so good on paper, it turned out okay.

It was a real pleasure to stay at the Gletschergarten Hotel. Gabriela and Gery were wonderful hosts and ensured that our visit was most enjoyable. The hotel is really beautiful, with a true old-world feel to it. Our room was very cosy and convenient, with amazing views from the balcony. The breakfast had something for every taste, with high-quality products. We also had dinners at the hotel several evenings and were left very impressed - everything was delicious, and for a 3-course prix-fixe meal, this was a very good deal. A special mention goes to the great ski storage room equipped with boot dryers.
