Good breakfast with selection of espresso-based coffee and variety of juices, staffs were friendly. Rooms size was adequate. Location was right in front of Grindelwald First, Gondola Station. Bus station for both direction are right in front of the hotel.

The curtains to our windows were too thin, I think people walking-by can see the inside of the room, especially at night. There were only 2 power points in the room, another in the toilet. Hair-dryer and iron(also ironing board) are shared across the whole hotel, hence access to the items are limited.

Great location right at the station up to "First", walkabIe distance from the train station, close to restaurants and shops. Charming old, spacious house, nice rooms and amenities. Very good breakfast, don't miss it ^^

Personnell isn't around much - not a probIem though, it's all well organized.

Breakfast time should be start earlier time during summer because cable car start to move 8am. Breakfast room doesn't have enough space.

Stuff was really polite and helpful. Place is excellent. Room was rather clean. View from the window was breathtaking. It was very quiet in the hotel during days and nights.

The curtain in the shower was very long and it was a little bit disturbing, because it had to remain in the shower while washing. And there was no hanger in the shower room for the clothes.

when i checked in, the staff at the counter was very welcoming. super convenient for those looking to go to grindelwald first. rooms were super cosy as well. gives off the japanese vibes.

for our breakfast the next day, my friend and I requested to have the takeaway version as we had to stick to our itinerary plan and had to leave early. upon realising that we did not have to leave early and that we could stay in the hotel for our breakfast, we decided to get some other food and drinks from their buffet spread but were impolitely told off by one of the staff that we need to pay for their breakfast because we already requested for their takeaway version. we did not pay eventually, after some negotiation which was nice of them. but we felt that the staff could have communicated in a better way, instead of talking to us so rudely and demanding that we have to pay for their breakfast.

Beautiful lodge located at the foot of the mountains and First Bahn, my room was a good size, comfortable and clean with a view to the gardens. Had my own sink and therefore only had to share the toilet and shower - no queue. Breakfast was fantastic, good range and held in the dining room with views to the mountains. Staff was friendly.

I should have requested a first floor room as my ground floor room window had direct access to the outside - but this is on me and not the hotel - just something to consider when booking

Cozy rooms and easy check in! There’s a sink in the single room, a closet storage space and a small private balcony (which allowed me to keep the window open to cool the room down while I slept). Bathrooms were shared but clean. They provided a towel and a lovely breakfast in the morning with coffee and breads, cheese, meats and granola. Very close to main attractions and they gave us free in-city bus privileges and a discount on the First cable car.

Perfect central location, small but functional room, lovely living rooms with fancy furniture and beautiful mountain view, free coffee and tea all the time, bike storage, good breakfast buffet (bread, eggs, variety of cheese and meat, some vegetables and fruits, porridge, flakes, good coffee and bramded tea, juices, ...). Very friendly staff.

Great location when walking a variant of the via alpini and taking the cable car down from First. the room was clean and the beds comfortable. We liked the little sitting area downstairs for a picnic dinner. It was also close to the VOI supermarket

A small issue was the pillows were too big and didn’t squash down

Very convenient location with the First gondola right next door. Great breakfast and peaceful surroundings. Very good option for solo travellers. There is a dining area and lounge with a lovely view of the mountains.

The breakfast buffet room can get very busy at 7.30 am.
