Schonried is a magical village, with chalets perched on top of the other as they climb up the hill. The hotel is nicely placed in the centre of the village, with free parking and walking distance to Horneggli ski lift. The architecture is typical Swiss chalet, simple but warm and elegant. The restaurant is excellent - we had breakfast every morning (varied and with great choices, friendly staff catering for all your whims), and dinner twice - high class food accompanied by Swiss wines and marvelous deserts. Sannen and Gstaad are not that far and are also beautiful to visit and mingle with locals and tourists (and you get a chance to see some celebrities, like we saw JC Van Damme :)

Room was above the kitchen and sometimes could hear the pans banging late in the night.

I loved the place and every minute I spent there. It easily accessible, as it's 1 minute away from the train station. I loved the terrace where I could sit and enjoy a drink in the evening after dinner. There is a nice lounge where I could work the full day, before I started my weekend. The breakfast is not extremely diverse, but it was more than enough and very good quality.

Lovely, family-run hotel with very friendly staff, lots of charm and very clean and nicely designed rooms. Conveniently right by the train station and in a really picturesque area with mountain views. Would absolutely stay here again.

Ask for a room on the mountain/train station side if you are sensitive to noise as the front side of the hotel is close to the road traffic.

I loved my stay at Hotel Kernen ! Close to railway station & walking distance to ski field. Very welcoming hotel & staff were amazing - Bruno the owner made a huge effort with his guests & is a lovely person. Meals in the restaurant were divine . Highly recommend to stay here rather than in Gstaad town centre.

There wasn't a fridge in my room - however didnt really matter as I was able to keep anything cold by putting on the windowsill outside to keep cold!

Location is great next to train station but not noisy. Had an incredible stay at the Kernen hotel! The owner and entire staff were simply brilliant, from the attentive housekeepers to every member of the team. The service was exceptional, and the location added to the overall charm. Highly recommend this place for a delightful experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

Honestly I have nothing bad to say I just had a great stay

Room is very clean, bathroom is comfortable. Amazing little pillows, overall, bedding is great. Great restaurant. Located near train station.

No kettle or mini fridge in the room. Rooms overlooking street may be too loud in the morning, if you are light sleeper.

Breakfast was continental but extensive and really good quality. Situated high in the mountains just north of Gstaad it’s a perfect location for hiking and the signage in Switzerland is excellent. Also the Schonried ‘Golden Pass’ railway station is just a couple of minutes away from the hotels front door. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant.

Beautiful property with great views and excellent location. Breakfast was for a good length of time and a wide variety of food. We ate in the restaurant a few times and enjoyed the meals each time. Staff were very hospitable and welcoming. Went out of their way to help us with activities and bookings.

It was fairly expensive but we did travel at a busy time of year (Christmas time)

It was super thoughtful and simple! Easy everything! The owner Bruno was so genuinely nice and accommodating.. Staff was super nice.. it felt like family!

It was right next to train station and ski rentals.. and i preferred that it wasn’t super fancy and busy like Gstaad.. The restaurant was delicious and super nice! The coffee every am was amazing too!

The hotel is conveniently located across Horneggli and a 4 minute drive away from Saanenmöser. Breakfast as well as dinner was absolutely satisfactory with a wide range of options.

Minor item: the mattress was not fully leveled and was a bit uncomfortable
