Booked the Swiss Chalet but got lucky to be upgraded to the Schloss hotel opposite the road. It is beside Lucerne lake and has a good view from the room. Breakfast had freshly made eggs and bacon along with other items. Tea/coffee and sweets are available in the common lounge area 24x7. The best part is the room fridge is stocked daily with beers, coke and water.

Need to pay a parking fee of 10€ per day if you do not book directly from the Hotel website. You will need a car to visit here as the location is not close to any other means of transport.

With an upgrade to a private bathroom this place was great. The room was large and well set out with beams and a tester bed. The bathroom was a good size with a great shower. The main hotel is across the road from the chalet. We used the hotel garden which is right on the lake with a beach for swimming. A beautiful spot. There is also a bistro at the side with great food and a bar, with reasonable prices. We will return.

The restaurant looks good but prices are high. Wine in Switzerland is a ridiculous price!

We had a really short but pleasant stay at the Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen. We wish we had more time to enjoy its premises. It's amazing what they did to an old historic building! There's a sauna and a little beach with a bar and some cozy chairs to enjoy the view from the lake and the mountains. The breakfast is amazing, lots of options and really delicious. You can't go wrong with it!

If you're a tall person, just be careful with the low ceilings and wood beams. My husband was distracted and hit his head in the beam a couple of times! 🤭

We recently stayed with a friend, and we really enjoyed. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a spacious room with a lake view, which truly enhanced our stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking lot is available directly in front of the hotel. We particularly liked the library room, stocked with a variety of books and a free selection of coffee and tea. The restaurant at the hotel was another standout feature. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay. My time here was truly delightful.

The room was in an old Swiss chalet. Of course, for people with a height of 2 meters, this is not the most suitable option, but I really liked the typical Swiss design. As for the breakfasts, I would like to emphasise the wide variety of choices and the high quality of the food. I really liked it, everything was delicious. I especially want to mention the service, who made aromatic coffee every morning and were very friendly. As for the hotel's services, we were caught in stormy weather in the first days, but the sauna on site saved our vacation, allowing us to relax during the storm. The hotel also has a very great beach where you can swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Vierwaldstättersee while sunbathing on the sunbeds. I will gladly come here again on my next vacation. I can also recommend it as an option for spending time with children.

The location was perfect. Staffs were super kind and helpful. Nice interior design. The view was spectacular just a minute walking to the lake!

Unfortunately there was a public construction in the road which no one could not do anything about it! And you should expect some noise as you will stay in a historic chalet when people are walking around on the wooden floor.

We arrived by train after dark. It was a downhill walk to the hotel. They put us in the newer building in a lake view room at no extra charge. It was quite a treat for us. I think they had plenty of rooms open that night. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

I was kind of disappointed not to be in the old building as I booked it based on the hotel being a historic chalet. Really wanted to see it and experience the feel of the old lodge. But heck who can complain when they gave us a beautiful lake view room.

Great character, lovely traditional decor, room had everything we needed! Comfortable beds and a fan. It was situated on a lake which you could access for swimming, and stunning views of the mountains. There was a sauna but we didn’t have time for this and very quiet. Free tea and coffee in a lovely gallery space in the main hotel. Had good bowl and blanket for the dog. Free apple juice on our arrival.

Nothing really, was amazing location.

Good parking in quiet area. First lake front. Luxurious saunas inside and outside the hotel. Ambitious staff (offered complimentary local drinks). Coffee station free of charge. Very welcoming and charming.

Paid parking which was not visible when booking (not very transparent). Teritorial swan. Crooked and noisy floor. The shower holder was a little worn and didn't hold well.

Good acces to lake Lucerne, quiet surroundings. Room was classic swiss chalet style with sleigh beds. Breakfast was plentiful and good variety.

Due to style of rooms with no carpets etc we were woken by people above us at 4:30 each morning walking about. Not sure if they were staff members.
