Front desk lady was extremely helpful and extraordinary in helping me make the most of my limited time there. Fantastic view in large comfortable room.. Felt very safe. Convenient to walk down short distance from train/bus station, enjoyed the little sightseeing train on the same block, little grocery store, area buses, and boat to Brissago for transfer to Italy. Appreciated the Locarno local transport pass which i utilized multiple times. Breakfast was good. Beds were ok-- Would have appreciated more padding on the mattress itself. Definitely recommend for female solo traveler

The location was perfect. I came by train and it is really only 5 minutes or less to get to the hotel. I also got a free Ticino train ticket which I used to go to Lugano. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and allowed me take drinks up to the room.

There was nothing I disliked, but the room is not as big as it looks in the pictures. The balcony was also smaller than it looked online and I only had a corner view of the lake. I would go again, but I would ask for the room at the front with a better view - because the view is part of the reason I chose this hotel.

As a family with a 1 y.o. baby, we found Hotel Rondinella to be a fantastic choice that I warmly recommend. We particularly enjoyed: - The extremely warm and kind staff - Our room was big and had a wonderful view of the lake - Location is hard to beat. A stone throw from the train station, from the Debarcadero, the Lido, the funicular to Madonna del Sasso... anf if you can't walk to a place, the bus stop is right in front (and you can take it for free...) - Great breakfast on the balcony. Especially the yoghurt from Ticino, the cake, and the homemade jam. - The room and the shared facilities were spotlessly clean Overall, the choice of staying at this hotel made our holiday in Locarno relaxing and memorable. Thank you to all the staff of the hotel!

The furnishings are not very modern, but as I said, everything is clean and very well maintained, so it's really nothing that detracts from the experience.

Location was perfect, easy 5 mins walk from the station with luggage, and opposite the ferry terminal. Our room was very clean and spacious with an amazing view across the lake which we enjoyed from the balcony. Breakfast wasn't extensive in range but plentiful . Would recommend staying here. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The location is unbeatable, between the station and the ferry terminal. Super friendly and helpful staff, and a good breakfast too.

The property is advertised as having air conditioning. However on a warm day in early May it was not working - staff said it had not been switched on for the summer yet. So the room was uncomfortably hot.

It is at a very convenient location. 5min walk to Locarno train station, bus stop is within 1 min walk, near piazza as well. I like the scent in the room as well. The room was warm despite the cold weather.

It was difficult to lower the blinds at the balcony in the cold weather. Room was facing the bus stop and at night it’s possible for others to see the silhouette from the bus stop even with the curtain in the room. The sockets near the bed was not working.

It could not be a better location. The views were amazing and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The staff was beyond kind and friendly and went above and beyond to provide safe gluten free breakfast options for my very sensitive celiac daughter. The breakfast was delicious and we had plenty of delicious options. The rates were so reasonable. We won’t stay anywhere else if we ever come back!

Amazing breakfast, staff and location.

The only downside for us was that there was no common area to sit together in the evening after the reception had closed and the kids had gone to bed. We had to crowd into one of the rooms. And the rooms are definitely on the smaller side, especially the 3-bed-room. It would really be great if the common area around the reception could be open 24/7.

The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to get around. It is very near the lake, concerts, and all venues in the city center. The breakfast is really good, offering a wide variety of options with a nice view of the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can get a free local travel ticket at the reception, which allows you to travel around the city and the Locarno area.

However, some rooms (e.g., 31 and 32) are very close to the reception and can be very noisy in the morning and evening.

The view and location and the staff. I like the fact that the staff kept in touch with me to let me know how to retrieve my room key after hours. The breakfast area with the lake view. The restaurant beside the hotel has good food. Parking options close by.

The picture shows a very luxurious looking hotel with a lake view from the room.. the room has a view and we enjoyed it but we have to go to the balcony to see it. Maybe other rooms in the hotel has a lake view
