Loved the view from the balcony over the lake, perfect! Location on the lake and only 5-minute walk from train station couldn’t be better. Hotel sits above a restaurant so options are right there. Owner and staff were super friendly and kept our bags for a couple hours after our checkout so we could walk around a little before our train left. Great to have the Ticino Ticket included so we could also take the bus over to the even quieter town of Ascona. Breakfast was great, and quiet. Again, owner provided personal, friendly service and attention.

Enjoyed breakfast (selection of few meats and some cheese, yogurt, fresh squeezed juice, cereal of coffee/hot chocolate). Would have been great to also have a couple fruit options like a banana, etc. Bathroom/shower was very small, but overall a great value.

The location is certainly a plus: spacious balcony, reclining chairs, view on the lake, at the boulevard where there is some traffic but surprisingly it's very quiet. Room was certainly more than big enough. Beds very good. Staff friendly, albeit in a bit routine sort of way (they clearly have seen way too many tourists in their life).

Had quick lunch upon arrival, which was honestly below our - medium - expectation (Insalata Caprese without basil). Bathroom dated, but functional, with very few rather random toiletry items like if these had been collected from other hotels. Breakfast OK but quite limited. Overall impression is that this hotel maybe lacks some TLC. For this price they should (try to) do much better, despite the great location.

Friendly and helpful staff, great location beside the lake and very close to the train station. Room/bathroom and communal areas were clean. Comfortable bed. Mini fridge in the room was very handy. Coffee machine a bonus. Small balcony so could sit outside. Metal shutter could be lowered to help block light from the room. Not much noise disturbance from other guests. Having the option to eat breakfast outside was lovely. Once you have your key, you can come and go with ease as there is a rear door. (Main entrance to the reception is through the restaurant on the ground floor which is a little disconcerting but most people were eating outside when I arrived).

Not problematic enough to spoil the stay: * Shower area small and just a curtain so difficult to avoid floor getting wet and/or curtain clinging * Hot water not always available. * Fairly limited options for breakfast

The restaurant/hotel staff were very helpful, including letting us leave our luggage in the restaurant on our last day. The balcony, with the French doors, table & chairs and a wonderful lake view, made the room much more appealing than a rear one would have been. The twin beds were comfortable and the bathroom, although a little old-fashioned, was perfectly fine. Breakfast was very good, and so were the pizzas. It’s located beside the lake and only a 5 minute walk to the station.

The stairs to access the bedrooms from the restaurant have timer-controlled lights, which are a bit alarming at first but ok once you’re used to them. There was a kettle (a rarity!) in our room, although the cable didn’t seem to fit the socket very well and needed wiggling about to work, so we used it and then unplugged it. My Italian wasn’t up to explaining that to the staff.

Superb balcony with glorious views over the lakes and mountains. The location was excellent, just behind the station and maybe half a mile from the old town centre Our host looked after us very well, especially as I have coeliac disease and need gluten free products for breakfast. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere at the hotel.

The bathroom was very tired and in need of a makeover. There was a flimsy shower curtain which stuck to you and sent shower water over the floor unless you were very careful.

We had two rooms: one for my husband and I, and one for my two adult children. I paid a little extra for my and my husband's room for a view of the lake and it was totally worth it. Sitting on our little balcony overlooking the lake was gorgeous. Interestingly, our kids' room faced away from the lake but they had a very large bathroom which we didn't have at all. The best part of the hotel was the staff. The owner and breakfast staff were so kind and helpful - the owner even offered me a ride in his car when we had an emergency. The free breakfast was delicious and the breakfast terrace overlooking the lake was so peaceful.

I was there for a mother and daughter union and we were upgraded to a superior room with balcony with the view of Lake which was amazing. The room was spacious and the beds were comfy. There was a small gardrope and coffee room attached to the room which was so cute and nice. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice.

The coridor lights were not automatic so you need to find the light switch before coming out of the room.

The location , a short walk from the station, on the lakeside was ideal. The room was a good size, with the addition of a small balcony and the bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of space to unpack and the tea and coffee facilities much appreciated. There was a lovely selection for breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful.

What an amazing location! Great view from the balcony over the lake, and also from the restaurant where we ate breakfast. Just a few minutes walk from the station and across the road from the lake but nice and quiet. Breakfast was ok too. Nice coffee and a selection of bread, cheese and cold meats.

Some more fresh fruit would be nice for breakfast. There were whole apples and oranges but that’s all.

We loved the location of this property. Waterfront out the front of the building and train station across the street and a few yards down from the back exit. This was not a problem because the trains are quiet and no loitering folks like at some stations. It was a great convenience to jump on the train so close. We were also a five minute walk from the funicular up the mountain. The staff was very friendly at breakfast and we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant which has tables on the lakefront. The owner and his wife were very eager to help with all our inquiries which we truly appreciated. Their suggestions made our stay much better than we had expected.

Our only small suggestion would be to get heavier shower curtain that wouldn’t cling while taking a shower. ;)
