The hotel is a small, family-run place that's filled with historic, interesting objects that the owners have collected from their travels over the years. The breakfast room is especially nice, with tables set with beautiful pieces of china and linens. The food was delicious and plentiful and the owner made us coffee from a real espresso machine. What a treat! The room was tastefully furnished, immaculate, and very quiet. We ate dinner at a bistro within a 3-minute walk on two different nights and we walked a short distance to the boat for a trip to the botanical garden island nearby and the picturesque town of Ascona. The hotel owner gave us excellent advice and a topo map of a day-long valley hike which we reached by postbus. It's a hike we would not have discovered on our own and was one of the highlights of our trip to Switzerland. I hope we'll return to Locarno one day to spend more time and do the other valley hikes, and if/when we do, we'll definitely stay at the Piccolo Hotel. It's one of the best hotels we've stayed at. Book this hotel with confidence--you won't be disappointed.

Everything was wonderful! the hosts, the staff are very friendly, considerate and always ready to help :-)) The hotel itself is very nice and cosy, and it is located in a quiet area (which is important, especially in the evening). It takes only 7-8 minutes to walk to the railway station and the lake! Breakfast is really excellent, there is a selection of different kinds of food for any taste, I think :-) The wifi is a bit slow but it's not a problem.

I really appreciated the attention to detail throughout the hotel. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, with a fully functioning air conditioning system that made the stay even more pleasant. The breakfast was another highlight, with a dedicated and friendly staff who made sure everything was perfect. The overall charm of the hotel and the excellent service provided by the staff truly made my stay exceptional. We are definitely coming back!

The Big Barking dog, on the property opposition the hotel. From I came home after my bungee jumps Yesterday and until I went to bed it was Barking, extremly loudly.

I loved everything about this place,the welcome was warm,the decor was really funky and different. I am really happy that I chose this place rather than a chain hotel,so much character and fun. Breakfast was really good and the staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. If I ever return to Locarno I will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Nothing to dislike.

Staff was devoted and charming. Place is old-stylish house well maintained and comfortable. Location is good, close to the lake and center and in a quiet neighbourhood. Nice breafast. parking included right there by the hotel. Great value overall

Maybe the room was not very big, for our 1 night stay that was not a concern, it might have been if we had to stay for several nights.

Most friendly personal, the cutest hotel ever - every floor in different style, very warm and cosy. The location is not in the very centre but there is a bus station 50m from the hotel with direct connection to the centre. Room was cosy, very good breakfast. Everything in this hotel is very personal. The owner will talk to you at the breakfast, the plates and cups are like they've been owned by the owners grandmother ... It's more like coming to one's home rather than to a hotel. I must say one of my most - if not the most pleasant stay ever!

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. The hotel is located in a nice and charming building. Location is nearly perfect, right next to the trainstation and lake The hotel also gave us a Ticino Ticket which allows free travel on all buses and trains in Ticino : we used it a lot and makes travelling in the region very easy

Owners very nice and helpful , Sybillia and neco were the heart of this place

The hotel was about a ten minute walk from the railway station and the lake. It had a wonderful old world feel to it. The staff were most helpful and friendly. A superb breakfast was served.
