Comfort, space, value for money. Got an entire flat for me alone at the price of a modest hotel room.

Tertianum is a senior residence. Didn't know. Installations are accordingly, e.g. indoor pool at 31°C. So I preferred the outdoor lake Maggiore at 13°C. When I inquired in the evening about breakfast hours, they took me for a person with dementia. "We are in the evening, Sir, and dinner is being served, not breakfast" :-)

Great hotel not far from the train station and within walking distance of the Piazza Grande, if you're there for one of the festivals in Locarno. Exceeded expectations in that I got a mini-apartment, not just a room – kitchen, balcony and all. Because the hotel is within a retirement home, it's amazingly quiet. Not the usual thin walls and loud comings and goings of other guests. Bliss. The bed was comfortable, too, which is rare. Staff were incredibly friendly. Highly recommended!

Very friendly and welcoming staff at check-in and at the restaurant. Good location close to the center and convenient ground parking. Useful Ticino ticket for free public transportation. Plenty of choice for breakfast that was included in the rate. Really quiet surroundings with a beautiful green garden. Great stay I will gladly come back.

The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. I also got a dinner in the hotel restaurant, it was quite good . The swimming pool is warm, ideal for relaxing and it is open until quite late in the evening. Everything is very quiet, so if you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax , I would recommend this one.

The Staff is extremely corteous (as expected in the Swiss Hospitality Industry & Services) and the room was very big and comfortable.

The complex is a little "tricky" to walk around but once you get "used" to it everything works great. Also the "extra fee" for the kitchen appliances could be waved. The kitchen is super nice but adding basic things like a pan frier could be complimentary.

Spacious room, clean, very close to the train station, swimming pool which is open till quite late , friendly staff, good breakfast and possibility to also have diner in the restaurant for quite a reasonable price

I had issues with internet connection in my room, it was very weak, but the I found a spot in the kitchen where it was ok, so at the end it was not a big problem

Amazing place! 2 minutes walking distance from the lake, city center and train station. There are 2 parking places, one direct under the hotel and the other one on the same street. The hotel room is enormous, with separate bedroom, large terrace and a kitchenette. Everything clean and comfortable. The young lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend this place!

Anna, the receptionist, was lovely and incredibly helpful. The room was very spacious with a kitchenette, which was a nice bonus, as I ended up using the oven for a quick meal when I was too tired to go out. The pool was heated on a cold day and wasn't crowded at all. The big "wow" moment for me was the garden/grounds--I went in spring and it was breathtaking. There are flowers everywhere, beautiful landscaping, and water features. Perfect place for a stroll or to plop down and read a book. Location is also great--just a 5 minute walk to the train and an 8 minute walk to the ferry. I highly recommend taking the ferry to Isole di Brissago while staying in Locarno--it was gorgeous! Just loved the light, spacious 50 m2 apartment (an upgrade at no extra costs) with a great 180 degree view on both the lake 'Lago Maggiore' as well as as the mountains. There was an overall very pleasant vibe in the hotel and staff was super friendly. Breakfast was good too and the breakfast room (=restaurant) had a great ambiance thanks to the glass ceiling and half-circle shape. Location was pretty unbeatable, like an island in the center of Locarno.

The coffee was good but not great. The bed was a bit too hard for me and my back. I would have appreciated a thin softer layer on top of it.

I have stayed here many times but there was changes that I did not see. Before when you paid you had parking and breakfast included. This has changed and I was not aware. So if you are booking make sure you take deal with all or otherwise you will pay more.
