The best part of this stay was the staff. The ladies were very friendly, informative and helpful. They gave us suggestions on what to do around the area and were very engaging with their guests. The apartment room that we selected was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was perfect before heading out and exploring Ticino. The hotel is about 7 mins walk from the train station and I suggest you walk through the station's parking lot, up the stairs near the church and take a left on the first street to reach the hotel. You'll thank me later for not walking up hill too much from the other side of the main road.

Room: exceptionally clean room, shower as well, with lake view. We found it a bit tricky to operate the AC to decrease the heating, so we ended just opening the balcony door (winter season). Walls are a bit thin so we could hear the playful dog next door (we love dogs so it wasn't a big deal anyway) Service: exceptional service, they are kind, chill, ready to go the extra mile to accommodate you, always smiling. They do manage to make you feel at home, which is a great achievement. Online check-in and check-out option, which are highly recommended and easy to complete. Great location, outside of crowded places, but right next to the train station and city centre. Plus: we stayed during the New Year period, and they provided some chocolate, scratch and win, and prosecco at breakfast. A real touch of elegance!

The hotel is in a quiet location, close to all the local amenities, rail/bus station, lake and shops (5-10 minutes gentle walk). We booked a family room with lake views for the 3 of us, which was a perfect size with one double and one single bed, which were extremely comfortable, a great shower, good size flat screen TV and a coffee maker. There was a small, but adequate balcony, accessed through a short window, so you have to duck to get out, although not a problem. Breakfast is a buffet style with a combination of crispy bacon and scrambled eggs, a selection of breads, cold meats, cheese, fruit and nuts. Drinks included, coffee, water and a selection of fruit juice. In the communal area there is a fridge containing a selection of cold drinks (water, beer, wine and coke), which can be purchased using an honesty principal (I.e., you put money in a jar on top if the fridge). The lady in charge of the kitchen doesn't speak much English, but she was lovely. I send her a virtual hug for looking after us. ❤. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and, again, deserve a hug ❤ For us, there were two areas which could be improved. First, the air conditioning had a minimum setting of 21 degrees, which was too high and made it difficult to sleep. Cinzia did say that this was related to having an environmentally green status, which I guess may be imposed. Having said that, the daytime temperatures were over 30 degrees, so it did help during the day. Second, we think that having a refrigerator in the room would be a nice idea. As previously mentioned, the daytime temperatures in July were over 30 degrees, so it would be nice to be able to buy salads and drinks from the supermarket and keep them cool. Finally, a small point. A safe to store passports and valuables. To summarise, a great friendly little hotel, with super staff, well organised and managed by Cinzia & Nadia and their staff.

As previously mentioned, the aircon could be cooler, and there is no refrigerator or safe. Just small points which would make for a better experience.

The ladies were so helpful and accommodating, they even waited after hours for us to check in as we were running late and having sim card problems. The room was cosy and spotlessly clean with a lovely view of the lake and mountains. Breakfast each morning was a banquet....such a wide choice of food and very yummy. There was just a short walk to the train station, the Lake and downtown for some shopping and sightseeing. We were very happy with our stay @ Home Hotel Locarno.

It was a modern decorated Hotel. The welcome was very friendly and we felt welcome. Green question was too much and was answered immediately. Also the free Ticino Ticket a surprise. "An overnight stay in a participating hotel, hostel or campsite entitles visitors to a Ticino Ticket, giving them free public transport, including trains, throughout the region. Other benefits include generous reductions on cable cars, funiculars and other attractions We were nicely escorted to our "room". However, we had received a free upgrade, a complete apartment. How great was this! The apartment was cleaned every day. The breakfast was good and varied.

It is not a negative, but a point of attention for the holidaymaker who travels by car. The limited parking (10 places) of the Hotel. But if it is fully occupied, the Hotel also has good solutions, there is parking available at less than 5 minutes from the Hotel. The costs of this are minimal. The parking lot is accessible via two slightly steeper slopes, but with a good understanding it is easy to do.

The staff was pretty cool, relaxed, kind, and helpful. The location of the accommodation was 20min walking from Locarno city center, and 10min walking distance from Lago Maggiore. The breakfast was really good and varied. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable.

The room was a bit small and it seemed that it was not that well isolated since we could hear everything that was happening on the hallway and other guests.

Excellent value for money. Breakfast was very good, everything was fresh and tasty. Staff was very polite and made our stay in Locarno very pleasant. The location is very good, near to public transport and close to centre.

Started a bit messy by charging credit card twice with full price. Although refund was made the next day, monthly card limit was smaller because of second payment. There were too many messages from the hotel and a bit confusing online check-in and check-out procedure. I didn't like to give credit card number to someone unknown who is responsible for online check-in.

The bed was very comfortable.

The room was quite noisy. The floor is making noise when walking and the acustic insulation with the corridor and neighboring room is not great. The bathroom door is made of glas (so you can see through) which did not make me feel comfortable. The room is extremely small. Fine for one night, but definitely not to spend time in the room.

Lovely family run style hotel where nothing is too much trouble. Cincia & Nadia delightful two ladies and so helpful. Location great for a quick 5 minute walk to the lakeside and all the restaurants.
