We had the castle view, which isn't as good as the marina view but quieter. The restaurant setting was wonderful, looking at the marina boats, turquoise water, and mountains. The parking was convenient and the cleanest I've encountered/you could eat off the floor. The buffet breakfast was very good and kept fully supplied.

The decor could use a refresh. and the bathroom was very small with a slightly dangerous corner of the shower jutting into the room. The noise from the restaurant was a lot until 9pm when it shut. We were just jet-lagging so wanted to sleep earlier than that.

Very good location, near the swimming complex, the lake and the castle. The room cleaning was done efficiently and well. We once had an evening meal, and whilst the meal quality was average, the service personnel were friendly and efficient.

The breakfast was good enough, but lacking anything special, i.e.some bio. products or even products from the area, like cheese or jam. Personal touch missing! The croissants were poor. Although there was an area outside to sit, most guests chose to be inside and the allocated area was limited (it could have been made bigger or put in a different area), which meant that the atmosphere was somewhat frenetic and noisy. The personnel rushed around and looked stressed. A hotel breakfast should be more of an enjoyable experience. The receptionists we had dealings with ranged from being very friendly to actually being quite gruff and rude.

Wonderful sumptuous breakfast buffet. A beautiful location right on the harbor. A big, beautiful historic castle and chapel just across the road and sitting high above the hotel with gorgeous views of Lake Thun. Easy stroll to the dock to board a cruise on Lake Thun. Lovely room, kind and helpful staff, delicious dinner in the restaurant on site.

Our mistake - we walked from the train station all the way downhill to the hotel dragging our suitcases and backpacks and it was exhausting! Someone at the train station said it was a short easy walk so we didn't inquire about a bus or taxi. Come to find out there is a bus to and from the hotel every hour!

The hotel lobby and restaurant are nice and modern, and the food was truly excellent – the cordon bleu was absolutely mind-blowing. Our rooms were cleaned every day, which was appreciated.

The rooms were a bit dated and didn’t match the style of the ground floor, but maybe that’s the style for most accommodations. Not sure if it’s just winter, but there is only one bus that goes around town every hour, so it’s important to check the schedule. Otherwise, you’ll have to walk uphill to the station or take uber.

The front staff were outstanding. Juri and Sara were pleasant, efficient and accommodating in all aspects. truly exceptional. The room was absolutely spotless. I’ve never stayed anywhere where the windows were so clean. The fixtures in the bathroom were also spotless, despite the water which has high mineral content. All excellent!!!

The location of the Hotel is picture perfect: on the lake, by the lovely marina, with the mountains in the back. The docking place of the boat/ferry that goes around the lake is a couple of minutes walking from the hotel. The castle is right behind the hotel. Small restaurants, cafés, playground, walking trails, mini-golf - all within short walking distance. There is also a lovely "toy-train" that goes around the village and up the hill to the main station, for a mere 3 euros; the children loved it! The hotel has a restaurant with a beautifully situated terrace on the lake, perfect for an evening dinner. It is all very quiet, very lovely, very clean and peaceful. The kids also have fun giving bits of bread to the ducks on the lake, bobbing between the sail boats. Loved our stay, could have happily stayed longer!

Inside the hotel is a bit dated, but it is also part of the charm. The rooms with front view to the lake are quite expensive, so we had a back view to the castle (with side view to mountain and tiny bit of marina), which was ok, but at times a bit noisy from the parking place just bellow our balcony.

Wonderful position just in front of the lake. Room really spacious with a large bathroom. Good convention with a covered parking right outside the main entrance of the hotel. Confortable lift inside the hotel. Ladies at the reception really kind for any request.

The room was with the balcony in the description of the reservation but there was only a really little area outside the windows completely unusable,

The restaurant was great. We had two dinners and two breakfasts there and the service was excellent and the food delicious. The location of the restaurant by the lake is wonderful and the ambiance in the evening is very nice. The hotel is very clean and the location near the ferry is fantastic. The staff was helpful and welcoming.

Our room was a bit small and it was facing the street, which was very noisy late at night and early in the morning. Because our room was not facing the lake, we did not get much of a breeze and it was very hot (this was in July). On the plus side, the front desk lady in the evening got us a fan which helped a lot. Make sure you get a room facing the lake (none was available for us).

Excellent location! The nearby park is fabulous. The room had a balcony with comfy chairs. The room was on the street side (view of the castle), so it could get a little noisy in the evenings until about 23:00, but having a door to open to let in cooler evening air was better than having a window, with the same amount of noise. Breakfast was good, enjoyed sitting on the terrace on the water.

The shower in the bathroom was tiny. The drive to get there to check in was a little difficult, but once we had a parking pass, going to the garage was much easier.

Great location on the lakeside, next to the marina and the little castle. (The drawback to the location is that the station and town centre shops are a 10-15 minute uphill walk away. But there is a bus every hour.) The single room was a good size, with a nice balcony. Everything clean and of good standard. Breakfast more than adequate, nice fresh bread rolls. Friendly reception staff. Overall a good place for a quiet relaxing break, but Spiez is also well connected by rail to Interlaken, Bern and Brig if you want to explore further.

There was a kettle in the room, but you have to go down to reception to pick up coffee/tea (nice selection) and a paper cup (disappointing). Drinking from a paper cup really lowers the tone...
