Convenient location with grocery places within walking distance. Great and spacious bathroom and room!

No kettle and fridge provided, no telephone in the room to contact reception

Mercure Hotel is located outside the zurich city near the Altstetten Train station.it takes around 10mins to the Zurich Main central train station from here. Since Zurich city center hotels were pricier we opted for this hotel because many days we took day tours, many bus tours start from the main bus terminal which is adjoining the Main Zurich train station which was 10mins away.nearby supermarket was useful.

Room Size was a bit small as we opted to stay out of the city center we were expecting a larger room which wasn't the case.No coffee making facilities in the room which would have been useful in the cold climate.

Near Altstetten train station. I had a newly renovated room, which was really nice! Comfortable bed, work area, extra soap/shampoo holder in the shower, tea/coffee in room. Took a second to figure out that one had to screw in the lightbulbs to make the lamp over the sofa work… Breakfast was good, but not outstanding. Met a lady in the elevator who said her room card had not worked, and when she got a new one, the room was already occupied by someone else - which was kinda concerning. I made sure to bolt my door. A bottle of water would have been nice. Overall good hotel - would stay again (but bring extra locks…).

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. The design is modern and stylish, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, with easy access to public transportation and a supermarket right below. The spa is excellent, with many saunas and a beautiful terrace. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, with a large window and full-sized toiletries like shampoo, body lotion, and shower gel. In the evening, the bar is open, offering a great place to relax with a drink. I would definitely stay here again!

There was no fridge in the room, and the window couldn’t be opened. Additionally, it wasn’t possible to control the air conditioning. While the room was generally comfortable, there were moments when it felt warm, and I couldn’t adjust the temperature as it was pre-set. Also, room cleaning is only provided if you request it at the front desk.

Location is great - rooms nice and big & very comfortable beds !

NO fridge in my superior room No tea/coffee station in my superior room Both of these were lacking and I think that the rate you are charging should definitely be included. A LACK OF FRESH AIR IS OF HUGE CONCERN !!! I really did not sleep well due to this fact - I was also told that the air is recirculated -which makes me question if there are airfilters in place that are protecting us ?

The bed was comfortable, the aircon worked, spacious room & bathroom. There was a coop attached to the building and a good restaurant/bar. They had a hotel store in the reception area, an ATM also.

I thought it was overpriced even in Switzerland standards (over $500AUD for 1 night). The room was lived in and nothing spectacular. The shower would spray a lot of water outside on the floor. There was no mini bar in the room and from memory we got the 2nd ‘best’ room option. We stayed in a much nicer hotel for less in an expensive area near Thun/Interlaken.

The location is good easily accessible with a few minutes walk train station - 10- mins to HB. The hotel is new and clean. Breakfast was very good!

We had a room that already in use by mistake - (there was someone sleeping when I walked in the room, was scary experience though!) They apologized and corrected - within 5-10 minutes they sent maid to make up our sofa bed which was quick solve. I asked compensation, got 3 coffee voucher. ( I heard soneome already got coffee voucher by staying @deluxe room - we did not get that offer - so better to check with them during check in). I was asking questions about city tax payment methods and currency, I got a comment that from another employee (probably supervisor or manager) that “here EURO is not valid”. My question was totally unrelated , so I found it a bit offensive and not kind. I have USD card to pay.

Location was really convenient as its few minutes walk to nearest train station. Hotel was absolutely spotless with all we needed. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They all made us feel welcomed.

Only thing was that we have requested room cleaning service for our day 2 but this was not done. So it was quite disappointing to come back after a long day of citywalk only to find out that the room was left the same condition as when we left it in the morning.

It was close to the Swiss Life Arena where we had a convention and it was very close to the train stop of Alstetten.

Generally it was ok though I really wish that they had covers for the hot beverage. They offered hot water for free from the Starbucks self serve near the registration area. However, when you are trying to to bring a hot beverage without a lid, there is a greater possibility of getting burned by the hot liquid, which happened to me. So I do have a nasty red scar to remember the hotel by. I would have been happy to pay for the cup cover to ensure that I don’t get burned. So be careful. I guess better yet, pack your own container.

I liked the Sauna experience a lot. The hotel had one steam sauna (45 degree Celcius), one bio-sauna (65 degree Celcius) and a finish sauna (90 degree celcius) and on top outdoor relaxing areas with view towards the city/ station Altstetten and an ice fog shower. They also had a decent fitness center and a shop that was open 24 hours where you could by snacks, coffe or chocolate. The breakfast was quite good too with a lot of stuff to choose from. There was a possibility of taking a massage and I did it. It really helped a lot as the massage lady was very competent. I had some pain in my back and after the massage the pain was gone (full body massage, 65 minutes, 130 CHF) and I was advised to do more stretching as my muscles are too stiff. So I got some good health advices.

The only bad thing was the cleanliness of the window. There is not much more to write here actually.
