Staff are friendly and always ready to help. The hotel is very close to Kaohsiung train station. Good location if you need to take TRA or MRT. There's a direct TRA train from Kaohsiung station to the airport. Have to take a TRA (5-6 stations) to zouying if you need to take a HSR to Taichung. Famosa TRA station is about 10mins walk away from Joho hotel. The hotel room is huge and we had a bed that is bigger than a king size bed. Hotel provides free drink and snacks from 2pm to around 5pm. You can refill your water bottle at the gym which is located one level above the 15th floor. There's a free refill of soda water, packeted tea and two small boxes of cookies everyday too. There's a 7-11 and MOS burger restaurant just opposite the hotel. MacDonald, burger king and KFC is just opposite the Kaohsiung train station. We would book this hotel again.

This hotel has an ideal location: a short walk from the Kaohsiung Main Train Station, a slightly longer walk from the Formosa MRT stop and very close to one of the night markets. The rooms are modern and very clean. The staff, especially the breakfast staff, were very friendly and helpful. They offer free snacks and drinks in the afternoon with a happy hour from 18:00-19:00, a really nice bonus!

The breakfast offered 3 main dishes, if you didn’t like them or preferred a Western breakfast, the choices were limited. I never found the information to get clothes washed. I think they used to have washing machines available, but that is gone now 😞. Finding a regular, sit down restaurant in the immediate area that was open at night was not that easy. If you take the Orange line from Formosa to the harbor area your choices go up.

A short walk from the railway station (The hotel is very easy to find). Also close to the MRT station Formosa Boulevard (definitely visit this station for the beautiful artwork Dome of Light). The night market is also close to the hotel. In the evening visit the Sunfong Temple! See photos. Good room but the separation between the bedroom and the bathroom consists of a wall with transparent glass. This means very little privacy. Only bookable if you are travelling with your partner. See attached photo to understand it better. Little storage space in the room. Water and tea are provided. The breakfast is good. You are asked the day before to make a choice. Very friendly staff.

This hotel impressed us to no end. We booked a second night rather than move to another location as was our plan. Everything from the included happy hour to the totally friendly and informative staff, simply was over the top. We called the front desk for some extra coffee pods and almost before we put the phone down there was a knock on the door with a bunch of coffee for us. That is service that you don't find everywhere, particularly given we were on the 12th floor!

Not enough hours in the day to stay here longer! Really, nothing to note here.

Room 1203 with a window and city view was really nice especially for the offer I got. The bed was big and comfy, the bathroom spacious too and I loved the free almond cakes and sparkling water. The staff were very polite. The location is very close to the station which suited me well. The gym on the rooftop is small but nice (although it's basically in the lounge space so could be weird if anyone was hanging out there). I could've eaten a full meal as part of the happy hour (free wine or tea and lots of snacks).

I wish to have more selection of breakfast main courses throughout our stays.

There are many things to like about this place - firstly it is only a few minutes walk from the train station and easily connectable to public transport. My room was quite spacious and it also had a bathtub that was available for use. During my stay we had complimentary use of the hotel lounge in the afternoons which included complimentary snacks and drinks. The hotel also served excellent breakfast with a wide selection of items. Hotel wifi was also quite fast.

The snacks served in the lounge remained the same throughout the stay so it could get a little repetitive over a longer stay but honestly it's not really an issue as it's complimentary.

The window from our room was facing a wall with some poster right in front of it ( 1 meter from the window) so there was absolutely no natural light in the room Breakfast consisted of a small bought and one out of three options for the main, which was very heavy for a morning meal 😅

I think it would be an improvement if the breakfast menu offered more options. With only three choices, it felt a bit limited. During my three-day stay, I ended up trying all three options, and I would have appreciated some additional variety.

I came here because of a Taiwanese TV show. But honestly. I feel a bit underwhelmed.

We stayed two nights and definitely enjoyed our stay at the JoHo hotel very much! The location is great - short walking distance from the Kaohsiung rail/metro station; the Liuhe Night Market and the Formosa Boulevard Station are within 10 minutes walking distance. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. The room was very stylish with welcome pineapple shortcakes and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom walls was made of patterned sliding glasses, which makes the room look bigger. We stayed in a B&B with similar design and suffered from the poor air circulation design and the moist and odour from the bathroom during our stay. To our surprise, the air circulation in JoHo's bathroom was superb and extracted the moisture from the bathroom shower very quickly and effectively - we didn't feel any discomfort due to the sliding walls design - very well done JoHo :-). The food was amazing as well - they offer a freshly made main course for breakfast + buffet for side dishes and drinks. Free red and white wines and hot food during happy hours.

The only downside is we can sometimes hear the running bathroom water from upstairs late in the night otherwise we would have scored JoHo for 10. I am a light sleeper and it unfortunately woke me up late in the night. It'd be great if JoHo could look into this issue and see how the sound proof can be enhanced between different floors in the bathroom area.
