For a chain hostel, this one was pretty good. Rooms and bed were very comfortable. The hang out space is nice and spacious, but because it's so big, I feel like people tended to keep to themselves. The staff was very friendly and the location is amazing for exploring Ximending. Best part of the hostel is the location.

It was a bit annoying to have to have your key at all times to get in and out of the room side of the building into the lobby where your shoes and the entrance/exit are. Getting to my room on the 6th floor meant always having to go to the second floor and then taking an elevator there or walking up if the wait is too long. Wasn't a dealbreaker for staying here, but just something to be away of. I appreciated the no shoes policy in the property, but it was annoying having to plan out the logistics of what shoes I wore because you only had one designated shoe spot. So if I changed shoes, I would have to make sure I brought the existing pair by hand up to my room and then bring down the new pair. Again, not a deal breaker, but just something to point out.

I liked the communal area and how friendly all the travellers that I met were. The staff were extremely helpful. Although there was a shared bathroom straight off the dorm room it was good that there were showers and toilets on the next floor. There was a good selection of free teas, coffees dried milk and sugar in the communal area. The bed linen was crisp, clean and of good quality. I slept very well. The shower pressure was good and the water was hot.

There was a private party of young students who booked the communal area for the evening so it was out of use for all the other guests and twice I got woken up when the students went to their beds noisily at 12.30 am and then the boys at 2.30 am. The WiFi was poor in the bedroom sometimes. (3rd floor)

The hostel is very social. There’s a lot of opportunities to connect with other travellers but the rooms are relatively quiet so that’s nice. There’s a lot of facilities available like a washing machine and one of the best common areas I’ve seen in a hostel. It is quite close to a nearby metro station so that’s handy. Their staff are also friendly and accommodating and helpful if you need any recommendations. I forgot something in my room when checking out and they let me search for it even after I checked out.

The bottom bunk beds are almost on the floor which made it feel less private if people came in late since my bed was also the closest to the door. The bed was a bit damp and the mattress had a small stain on it but overall clean enough. There’s no space to hang your towel somewhere tho if you don’t want it to overlap with the person on the other bed of the bunk bed. I also saw a cockroach in the common room. Luckily , the dorms didn’t have any.

STAFF: All the staff were amazing and happy to assist with any questions. BED/DORM: The bedding in the dorms was extremely comfortable, definitely higher in quality than what I'd otherwise expect for a hostel. The dorm only had four beds, so it felt very private and I got to know the other people in my dorm well. COMMON AREA: This had a lot of space to spread out and meet other guests, as well as a kitchen and laundry area. LOCATION: I loved the location, it was a short walk to the nearest MRT station, which can get you anywhere in the city, as well as to other stations that can take you out of Taipei. There were also plentiful food and shopping options all a short walk away.

This is not a major problem at all, but I would highly recommend getting some extension cords for the common area, as when it was busy, it was often difficult to find a place to charge devices. This was nothing major though and everything else was absolutely fantastic.

I would highly recommend this hostel, especially if you're travelling solo and looking to meet people. The free group events and the social feeling of the common room led to me meeting and spending time with lots of fellow travellers. There are also lots of perks - a communal fridge, microwave, and kitchen cutlery, free tea/coffee, free drinking water, complimentary slippers for the duration of the stay, a postcard mailing service, towels available for rent, and beer available for purchase. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms, both private and common, are very clean and smell nice. The bed was comfortable and between the lockers and bed, I had plenty of space for my things. There's a full bathroom in the hostel room and additional common bathrooms. The bedrooms were nice and quiet.

There was shower gel and shampoo available in the room shower but no hand soap, so bring your own!

Meander is a ten minute walk from the nearest metro station , and that is one stop from the main rail station, the transport hub of the city. that makes it well located. All the bedding was very clean and changed regularly...and there is a great communal space on the ground floor, with free self-service tea and coffee 24/7 which is a good meeting area. Reception staff are helpful and friendly, the place is secure...and open 24/7.

A coffee shop serving breakfast on site....or attached to the hostel, would be a bonus. The rooms with six bunk beds are pretty small, there's no locker space in the rooms...and the charging point by my bed didn't charge.

Welcoming and kind staff (who speak good English), great community of travelers to meets, about every comforts necessary available (including a laundry) and good beds with international power plugs and really good wifi. Good privacy with the curtains as well. Common room really gets a mood going, I ended spending most evenings with other travelers from the hostel. I warmly recommend.

Price on the weekend. For some reason prices on Saturday are pure crazy, I advise to stay there any day of the week and find any other solution over the weekend, price come 10 times more expensive on some saturdays !

It was a lovely and lively hostel. I did prefer the location of another hostel I stayed at before, although this one was maybe in a more touristy neighborhood and, therefore, also more lively. but this one was more lively, and it was great that they had different cultural things and tours you could do. Overall, I like hostels in Taiwan anyway because fellow travelers are respectful in the rooms from my experience. I'd definitely recommend people to stay here if they're looking to meet solo travelers but also like privacy when needed. The showers were kept clean and I love the Japanese style toilets that can clean you well.

The location of the hostel is awesome, five minutes from all the action in Ximending! I did a tour through the hostel which was also really good, the tour guide (PC) was super friendly and knowledgeable. The beds were also probably the most comfortable hostel beds I’ve ever stayed in lol.

The single thing that I can say that I didn’t like was that there was hair in the drains in all the women’s showers, which made some of them difficult to drain. other than this, everything was perfect.

Very clean and comfortable beds in the 4 person dorm. Bathroom was meticulously cleaned everyday which is great. There is quite a big lounge/common area for chilling/eating/working. It's located a ten minute walk from Ximen station and there are multiple bus stops close by as well. Even though it's in Ximen and close to the bustling shipping area, it's still relatively quiet where it is. Overall fantastic stay and would stay at any meander again if this was any indication of quality of stay.

They did have laundry on site but just two machines each (washer and dryer), so maybe you have to wait to use their machines on site. Not a deal breaker by any means though. My only other thing is that the lockers they had were very small and is only good to lock away select valuables, and not to store your whole bag (I just had a carry on backpack).
