The hostel was really close to Taipei Main Station so it was easy to get to and from the airport, and around the city. There's a pretty big 7/11 underneath which is super handy and quite a few local restaurants and bubble tea places so you're never out of reach of anything. They hand out breakfast vouchers for a few local restaurants, which makes the meal free or super cheap. They have a washer and dryer with free detergent which I used and that was really handy to have in the hostel. The staff was super friendly and attentive whenever I needed anything.

Very minor issues. Some of the toilets smelt really pungent. They have one fresh floor towel in the morning per shower cubical...so if you're the unlucky last few people to have a shower late, then that towel is looking a bit rough. The noise from outside can easily enter the sleeping area but they provide good disposable earplugs for you.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The aircon for summer was powerful. Location is good with 7-Eleven at the ground floor and lots of food places, some 24 hours, around the area as well as a small fresh food street market in the morning. You get free bottled water if you get the ensuit room. Otherwise, the common room has free hot and cold drinking water, some fridge space, and some tea and coffee. The laundry was efficient, both the washing machine and dryer. You can store your luggage if needed when you arrive or the day you leave. Taipei Main Station is easily accessible (but the station itself is a maze, go through Y Mall, and use exit Y13 for the closest exit to Meander 1948).

There is a bit of noise coming from the streets if you have a window. Not a problem for me though.

The pillow, and comforter were so comfortable, and the bed is big enough for me. I like that the sockets are placed next to my bed where I can easily reach for my devices without getting up. I also want to highlight how cool that the hostel has this event organized only for those staying in Meander 1948. It was a Firefly Watching walking tour which I participated only because there was a last minute cancellation (lucky me). The late check-in process was also easy.

I had to cut my trip short of 1 day. I didn't get refunded for my last day which is understandable. At least I didn't have to rush with the check-out time.

We stayed in the Meander Osaka hostel and enjoyed it so decided to book the one in Taipei too. It’s in a great location - close to the main station and within walking distance to some shopping areas and local restaurants. We had breakfast included which meant we had a choice of 4 restaurants to go to. We would recommend trying Li-Ji Soy Milk for a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. The room was a good size and showers had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Common area was nice too, although as we had a private room we didn’t need to use it much. Fresh towels provided each day along with bottles of water.

If you're sleeping near the door, there's a very loud air filter running. I had to request them to turn it off to much reluctance from one male staff who initially insisted its not possible, but it was gone when I returned at night All the staff except that guy was very friendly and helpful. The guy was a stickler for the rules and I think he's better off in operations or finance rather than customer service. I asked whether I could refill water and instead of simply telling me I can do so on level 4, he unnecessarily used a rude tone saying hostel guests are separate from cafe guests on the ground floor. Another staff did not even hesitate to help me fill the bottle at the ground floor without question though I insisted I could do it myself at L4, stark difference.

It’s super clean. Neat bathroom with amenities and comfortable common space for relaxing. Best thing about this space was the friendly staff and helpful services :) Highly recommend for solo travelers

The breakfast thing was confusing. We received a 3$ voucher for cafes & restaurants around (which is not even enough to cover for a coffee) despite the fact that the booking says “breakfast included with price”. I recommend the property to remove this claim on booking since it’s considered false advertising. Other than this matter, everything else was great!

The room was clean and comfortable. I always stay in hostels while traveling, and this one was the best I've ever stayed in. The bed was large, and I could store my belongings in a secure locker. Towels were changed daily, and the public areas were clean and tidy. The hostel is just a few minutes' walk from Taipei Main Station (Y13 exit), making it easy to access public transport and the Taipei Underground shopping area. There are also plenty of local food options nearby. The staff were very helpful when I needed to store my luggage after checking out.

The room and bathroom were clean. The housekeeping staff were helpful. Close enough to the Taipei main railway station to. walk there. There is a coin operated laundry, and a common room where we could eat our takeout meals. The hotel will store luggage up till 10pm

We arrived 2 hours before check-in time. While the front desk was happy to store our bags, the staff did not tell us about the common room where we could have rested until our room was ready. We had to wait in a nearby coffee shop instead. Meander 1948 is really a hostel more than a hotel despite the name change. in

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The dorm rooms were so well designed with a decent sized locker and luggage storage for each person. The thick curtains around each bed were great for blocking light and giving a feeling of privacy. I appreciated the shelf in the bed space for storing my phone etc. I also liked having the gentler light and full light options in the bed space. Having the stairs to the upper bunks was also great! It was so clean and very charming. The communal space was lovely too.

There's so much that I love about this hostel, I don't even know where to begin! Though it's near one of the farther exits of Taipei Main Station (at the underground mall zone), it's centrally and conveniently located: just a few minutes' walk from an exit with an elevator, and also near the airport MRT. The location is great: lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, including a 7-11 right next to the building. You can even walk to Dadaocheng in 10-15 minutes. The hostel is beautiful; it's a building with a history. I booked a bed in a dormitory room; the beds were properly partitioned — almost like I was staying in a capsule hotel. Each bed also comes with enough sockets for you to charge your devices, and there are partitioned shelves for your belongings, including a locker for valuables. Luckily, I had quiet roommates, so I was able to get a good night's sleep during my stay. Also, the shared facilities are clean and well-maintained; the common area is so cozy and lovely! On days when I was too tired to travel, it was nice just chilling in the common area and taking in the ambiance, or browsing through the infographic panels (about the building's history, as well as helpful info for first-time Taiwan travelers, like must-see attractions and must-eats). For breakfast, you get vouchers that you can use at four nearby partner restaurants. All serve local cuisine (though one also has Western food like sandwiches, in case Taiwanese food isn't to your liking), so breakfast gives you the opportunity to try Taiwan's delicious food! As a fan of Taiwanese food, especially breakfast food like shaobing and danbing, I was very happy to have tried a different partner restaurant for breakfast each day. The staff are very friendly and helpful; I appreciated all their help. I got so much value for money for my stay, and I genuinely enjoyed just spending time at Meander 1948.

Just one small thing: the wifi connection at the common area isn't very good; more often than not, it didn't work for me. Thankfully I had a pocket wifi, but it would be nice if the staff could check on the wifi connection there.
