A very charming old hotel. Loved the atrium between all the floors which made the layout much nicer and less claustrophobic than the endless corridors in new hotels. Some lounge areas on the floors (especially the main one on the 7th) were similarly charming. Our group was in multiple rooms and we were able to socialize in these areas rather than just sitting in another person's room. And that was a really nice accommodation to have!

It was hard to figure out when would the omelette chef appear at the breakfast. Fortunately we were able to try the omelettes on our last breakfast. I might have felt more critical about the facilities if I hadn't already read the complaints about the hotel being outdated and worn out - that made me prepared for a worse experience but it turned out great, everything was clean and functioning and I was honestly really enjoying the charm of the place.

The location is great, close to MRT and the Maji Square. The Hotel is charming in an historic and smaller building and well kept, everything is very clean and the room service is very good. Due to the bakery they run as part of the hotel they have very good bakery products on offer for breakfast, really nice croissants, baguettes and breads. We thought the Hotel is value for money.

We could not change the temperature of the air condition. It was set to 21 degree. Since we visited in winter time we would have liked the temperature a bit higher. It was ok during the night, but during daytime it felt chilly and one needed to put on a jacket in the room. It was also not possible to switch it off, since that would have made the air in the room very stuffy and it is not possible to open a window. The double bed was comfortable but it could have been a little bit bigger.

The architecture and interior design of the hotel is lovely, with a spacious feel to the lobby and public areas of each floor. Our room on the 7th floor had a lovely view. The breakfast buffet menu was varied and delicious. The food I ordered through room service was very good. During my visit I came down with a virus and the hotel sent up complimentary fruits. all in all, my husband and I felt well cared for by the staff

From the moment we arrived, the doors were opened by two wonderful porters. When we checked in, we were warmly greeted by Claire and David (?) and shown our room. The Breakfast Manager was the most generous host, remembered our room number each morning and ticked us off without needing to ask us. We were always placed in the best seat in the restaurant. The Chefs provided a sumptuous breakfast and the breakfast staff were continually refilling and finessing the presentation of the food. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Claire and her Manager even helped us with organising our day trip to Jifen Old Town, mapping out the trains and directions. We had a wonderful day and were greeted with ... "how was your day ... what was the highlight?" The Typhoon warning made us a bit nervous, but the staff checked with the authorities regularly and kept us informed and provided alternative activities/restaurants during the enforced emergency holiday.

Coffee/tea and cookies out each morning for guests which we really enjoyed. We did not purchase the breakfast package because we met our son who lives nearby for breakfast every morning. The hotel is exceptionally clean and rooms are big. The location is good as you are about a 7 min walk away from either the red line or the orange line MRT. You are very close to Maji square which was a lot of fun on Halloween. We stayed in Ximen last time we visited and this is a much quieter area.

We found the internet service in our room dropped quite a bit which I found surprising for a business hotel. We did not inquire as it was just for personal use so perhaps in other parts of the hotel this does not happen.

the hotel location is very convenient. it’s a lovely building with a history. it’s very clean, comfortable but also very stylish. the room is spacious with caring details. Japanese loo seat cover, full set toiletries are provided. it also has a lovely bakery on the ground floor. breakfast is good! overall, very nice hotel, strongly recommended!

Very cozy hotel. I'm glad I stopped there on my first visit to Taipei. Very caring staff. Everything you need is nearby. Two metro stations are a 10-minute walk away, which was convenient for a walk.

Everything, great breakfast, great on site bakery, lovely service, comfortable bedroom which was incredibly spacious, beautiful rooftop garden and fantastic gym. Couldn’t fault a thing.

For a hotel that likes to push it's ECO friendliness, I found it odd that no drinking water filter stations were available. The hotel is however happy to hand out unlimited 600 ml plastic bottles of water.

perfect location, close to red and yellow metro line (around 10 minutes walk) there is a 24hrs supermarket nearby too. they make fresh eggs for your breakfast the way you want them

the breakfast buffet I found a bit limited so for what they offer i thought it was pricy. i ate there only once and skipped for the rest of my stay.
