I don’t understand about the bad reviews but this hotel is actually pretty good. The photo actually doesn’t do its justice. The hotel is not modern but it's quirky with a retro vibe. The room has a very comfortable big bed with a good shower. It’s an aged hotel but it’s perfectly fine for business stays or stays before your safari. The restaurant staff is also very friendly and their Indian food is delicious. We particularly love the chicken shish kebab.

It's in an business area so not much happeneing. But it could be the fact that Arusha is not an very interesting city.

We arrived very late owing to a delayed flight, but the staff were waiting for us and made us feel welcome from the start. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is charming and authentically African while being in a very convenient location. Breakfast was most satisfying and the restaurant offers an extensive menu of African and Asian dishes. The hotel also has an attractive, well-kept garden.

Overshadowed by its larger and more modern neighbour the Palace Hotel, it may not be the most luxurious in Arusha, but we found the Equator to be perfectly comfortable and an oasis of peace in the very heart of the city.

The location was good, in the middle of the town centre, and everything was very convenient, The Staff in the hotel were very polite and could be helpful, The room was nice and spacious and very clean, would like to return it back. WiFi was good.

The restaurant's breakfast could be better, not enough options in the restaurant, the service was slow and it's not many choices for vegetarians, No elevator in this hotel,

The room was good spacious, clean. Good service. I also appreciated the hands on from the Manager who was around always ensuring that we are good. I felt valued.

If possible i would suggest that the charging plug should have at least one universal adaptor. Carrying adaptors for travel is not great and it is difficult to find them. Looked for the around Arusha and could not get hold of one.

The personal was wonderfull. They help me with everything. They carry me like the own daughter... So for me they are like my Arusha-Family now. If you need something, they will be there for you. One time I wanted to eat something but it was very late. So they bring me to a good Restaurant next to the hotel personaly. I get a little struggle because of my card wasn't working and they be very helpful giving me different solutions. And the personal was every time friendly and respectfully. The breakfast was nice. Every thing fresh. They prepare you fresh Eggs too. A good variety. A little regional and a little international/continental. Delicious. The Room is very good also. I have everything you need. And if you need something else, you have only to ask. It was really very clear and organized. The hotel is good placed. You have every thing neyt to you: Bank, supermarket, some Safari-planer and more.. You have there even some interesting places like Center or Market. But the interesting thing is, you don't hear nothing from the trouble outside. On the contrary, it is wonderfull because is quite, you have a beautiful garden to walk and a running river is very relaxing. Despite it is so central, it was a good region. You feel every time secure and the people don't stress or scary you. If you compare the Hotel with others, it is one of the best one. And the price was fair. Of course, it is not a Hilton but for Arusha is a good deal. I will recommended it..

Everything was good

The staff, the position, the cleanness. I gave an 8 only for the price-quality ratio. Otherwise it would be rather 6-7.

The restaurant is average, especially the breakfast. The thing which to me is a problem is that it is not possible to close the upper part of the window. At night it gets cold in Arusha, at least in June, and not having the opportunity to close the window was a problem.

The Indian food is exceptional, and the chef is outstanding. Despite being an older property, the hotel is impeccably clean, and the rooms are very spacious. The staff is extremely helpful, always cheerful. The owner, the manager are extremely warm people going out of there way to make it a pleasant stay Chavi Meattle

Wi-Fi could have been better but everything else more than compensates for it.

The room is big enough ,location is superb its around town very accessible near by restaurants, cafe, public and private transport is readily available etc Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly.

Its an old facility that need touch up to meet modern standards especially the rugs in corridors,

The staff is super friendly in the restaurant and the reception, the food restaurant is good for value and nice. Also the location is very convenient, you have shops, landmarks, banks, Vodafone all very close.

I ordered a breakfast box because I was leaving early in my last day but they forgot to get it for me :(

Lovely old hotel in city centre. Large Room clean and airy. Staff very friendly and helpful. * on returning to the hotel they had read my review and what I did not like.. and put me in a room over the garden. I have upped my rating to 9. Thank you to the great staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Room was over the car park so got early and late noises. Also a couple of nights there was late night/ early morning music from some local bar or night spot.
