This Tulia Retreat hotel is a hidden gem. It is located in the center of Arusha, a short tuk-tuk drive to the clock tower and local Maasai market. The property is surrounded by a lush garden with avocado and banana trees. We had a deluxe twin room, so we both had a very large comfy bed each. The place is very quiet and safe. The concierge was very helpful arranging a taxi driver for us to numerous places. In the evening we ordered food from their restaurant, which was fine. Because it was a bit cold a night they delivered the food to our room. They have a nice swimming pool, but too cold for my taste.

The bread option at breakfast could have been better.

It made me feel at home. The staff went out of the way to make my friends and I very comfortable. Lucy was on hand to help out with any of our needs and had a smile on her face while at it. The guys at the front desk and the chef were all excellent. We even had the opportunity to cook our own "Jollof' rice; James made sure to arrange for access to Golf courses and exploring our safari options. We had a small section of the hotel to ourselves and really did have fun.

The Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa is truly a retreat. We stayed two nights--late afternoon and evening after a five day, four night safari--and the next night after touring the Arusha Natural History Museum and Masai Market. That gave us plenty of time to relax in the beautiful pool and gardens and enjoy the hospitality at this oasis. We had all of our meals during our stay at the hotel. Delicious food. Gracious and friendly service. For example, we asked the desk to call us a taxi. They apparently were unable to source one within a couple of minutes, so the day manager drove us into town himself. We took a motorcycle rickshaw back from the market which was an adventure.

This is lovely little boutique hotel that is so much nicer than the super-luxurious factories that people are often drawn to. It is very quiet and calm, simply but beautifully decorated. The staff are all extremely friendly and approachable. The food is great and the location is very pleasant. A wonderful stay - we'll be back!

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is well located in a safe and calm area of Arusha. The hotel was recently renovated and it shows, the rooms and the lobby are to current tastes. I loved all the beautiful and big plants surrounding the hotel outside.

The bed was very very hard, I could feel the springs on my back.

great location, very nice staff, very clean place. If you are expecting luxuryous accommodations, this isn't the place. It is pretty good value for money. they arranged airport pick up in Arusha, drop off at Killimanjao and the driver was on time, vehicle was in great shape and it was value for money.

breakfast choices were very limited. I went for breakfast after an extended family group of 7 had eaten and there wasn't much left. One of the items on offer had been pancakes and i had to ask for some since the serving dish was empty. They did bring me some, but only a couple of small ones and by the time I had left 15 minutes later, they still hadn't replenished the trays.

It’s a small hotel with lovely gardens in a very convenient location. It’s a 15 minute walk to the clock tower with plenty of eateries nearby.The area is quiet and very safe. The hotel was very clean and their staff especially David and Henry were very pleasant and helpful.

Some things were in a state of disrepair. The bathroom door could not lock . The toilet was dripping.Just small things that could be easily repaired in my opinion. They need to maintain the rooms especially the bathrooms. The food at the hotel was a little pricey. Entrees and accompaniments were charged separately.

The garden, the staff and specially the food at dinner time. Actually this was the best food we tried in Arusha during our 5 days there. The staff was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable and cute/fun!

I wish there were a long mirror in the room so we could see ourselves and also the bathroom is always full of water. But according to the price it is expected some minor inconveniences.

The rooms were spacious. The lounge area was perfect for reading and eating dinner even. The pool and garden area are lovely and spent an enjoyable afternoon relaxing around the pool area. The hotel is quiet and better than staying in the centre of Arusha where it can be quite noisy. The walk to the town Clocktower is about 20 minutes along a dusty, busy road, but definitely doable and nice not to have to rely on taxis. The staff were always ready to help. Never mind those fancy pricey hotels - the Tulia is just as good for less money.

Great staff and beautiful grounds. A garden paradise right in Arush. Delightful sitting outside with the birds - and yet we easily walked into town to see the clock tower and the Arusha museum. Also a couple of restaurants nearby.

It was all great.
