The hotel had a very pleasant ambiance. The staff was friendly and attently. Overall, a haven of good vibes, with cosy lighting and a tasty musical athmosphere in the evenings. The room was spatious, well-equipped, and everything was in excellent condition, and operational. (Also in the bathroom...) While there were regular power shutt-offs in the village that lasted for hours during the period I was there, the hotel-plot itself was never out of electricity, thanks to its off-grid silent solar panel system with batteries. Seems trivial but, it's very handy to have the comfort of never getting without electricity, so the fan and AC works at night and the phone is actually charged in the morning, etc... The bed was large and comfortable. The room was spacious. The linen was always ironed and fresh, and the interior was modern & stylish. Excellent room cleaning service as well. New building, great garden/patio-feel. Enjoyed a dip in the refreshing pool, surrounded by plants with the sun beds on the water, for a relaxed afternoon tan, while reading a bit. Across the street is access to a splendid beach, with astonishing azure ocean views. Loved it overall.

The hotel plot is adjacent to a housing plot at the back, with only a few meters of distance at the back. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful, yet the morning activity on the plot behind the hotel was a bit noisier than expected, so I woke up earlier than hoped. I had a window open in the bathroom at the back... and after closing the window and the bathroom door, it was way more quiet. Normal family life activity is to be expected, of course when a plot is adjacent to the village life in the back. The next day it didn't wake me up anymore, as I kept the window shut and the bathroom door closed at night.

Everything looks exactly like on the pictures! The hotel area is sooooo nice, breakfast really good, staff exceptionally friendly! Also the location of the hotel is reqlly nice. It is in a quiet area with a very beautiful beach yet only 10 mins walk from the more busy and touristy nungwi area with beach bars. Also you have some very good bar and restaurant options around the hotel. Food at chikachika is a 10/10!!!

We stayed for four nights at the end of our Tanzania holiday in this hotel. It was a perfect base for a relaxed end to the holidays. Pool, pool bar, terrasse with sea view, little restaurant and then some comfortable rooms (with airco and own terrasse). The beach towels were a nice extra. The hotel is close to the turtle sanctuaries and little zoo where you can feed monkeys (a favourite with my kids). The beach is within a few metres and there is a diving centre close by. For everything else one needs to walk a bit. Even though the neighbourhood looks a bit run down and not as developed than the areas with the big hotels, its still save and people are friendly.

Our two rooms were a little too far apart and the downstairs room was rather dark. The breakfast was delicious, but had limited choice.

We loved it here. Very cute hotel with only a few rooms so has a local intimate feel. 10 second walk from the beach. Pool small but nice to relax by. The staff are very friendly. Shoutout to Happiness, Tony and Zainab who were always on hand to help us with anything during our stay. The food was fantastic and very affordable. We initially explored the restaurants in the area but quickly decided Chikachika had the best food so ate most our meals there. I also liked that a free village tour is included and booked easily through Tony. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

Not a fault of the property but quite far from an ATM so I would advise taking plenty of cash. However, Tony did help drive us to one when we ran out.

The location is very good and the area is peaceful. Because the hotel is very near the northest point of Zanzibar, we could see the sunsets but also the sunrise. The sea and the beach is only 50 meters from the hotel. The food and drinks were excellent and much better and cheaper than in the crowded places further on the beach. The stuff was very friendly and they recommended us to take part of the free guided tour in the local village. It was really interesting to see local boatmakers, fishmarket and to visit in a local home. If you ever come to Nungvi, we higly recommend you to take part of this guided tour.

We loved our stay here, its a beautiful property with just 6 rooms (with an additional couple of bungalows located at the rear). It was never overly busy so had a personal & relaxed vibe to it. It has a modest well maintained pool, with a bar area & couple of sunbeds. There is an upper level dining/relaxing area which had a small view of the ocean, shaded & breezy if you wanted to get out of the high temperatures. Our room (No.4) was the end room on the ground floor, tucked away behind beautiful tropical gardens, with a cushioned bench/sofa on the terrace. It was cleaned every day. The location is excellent, althought it isnt beach front, the beach is only 20 meters away, just across the road & through a small footpath. Breakfast everyday was plentyful, a fruit platter to start followed by multiple choices of b’fast meals. We also ate in the evenings on a few occasions, always cooked well & very tasty. The staff are friendly, welcoming, very trustworthy (we rarely locked our door & left money around, nothing ever went missing). I would like to mention Zainab in particular, she is always there to help with any need, always smiling & happy to chat. And Tony who arranged our transport & booked our excursions, which were very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel & will definitely stay here the next time we visit Zanzibar.

If i wanted to be really picky i would say the room needed a wardrobe / hanging rail. It did have a kind of coat stand that i used to hang long dresses on but we had to live out of our cases while there. However i wouldnt let this affect my decision to stay here again. It is very good value for money.

We were warmly welcomed by Antonio (Tony), who made sure we were settled in and even organized a village tour for the next day. It was a wonderful experience, allowing us to learn more about Nungwi and its way of life. This was our second visit to Zanzibar, but our first time staying in Nungwi, and it was incredible. Chicka Chicka is conveniently located close to the beach, with many restaurants within walking distance—though Dodoki, the on-site restaurant, is by far the best. Zainab ensures that your meal is beautifully presented and served at the perfect temperature, while Chef Paul prepares the most delicious, flavorful dishes. Mandela keeps the pool and garden in top shape all day long, and Agnes cleaned our room daily with great attention to detail, always with warmth and understanding. Chicka Chicka was so lovely, we stayed an extra day. We also loved meeting the locals in the village and on the beach, hearing their stories and learning about their crafts—such an enriching experience. Maisha, the beach restaurant nearby, also offered lovely evening entertainment. It was truly a fantastic stay, and now our hearts are aching to return.

Zanzibar does experience occasional power outages, but Chicka Chicka has a reliable backup system, which was great and made sure we were never inconvenienced.

This is an oasis of just love. All the pictures does not give them cred as it’s so much better. Located on the far east side it’s more soft attitude and relaxed. The rooms are great and well performing AC and great quality of linen. Mr Boss is just the best hosts, with professional charisma but still heart loving to his customers. From the second you step in you feel at home and it’s keeps on even when you checkout. Some extra benefits is the restaurant in the accommodation. It’s food but not better or vorse than other places in the area. The pool area really surprised us due to its nice design and inviting feeling. Normally small pools are a big no no for us but this was one of our greatest places to stay. Really great work on the design with flowers and greens around the pool. As you can understand this is the perfect place to stay and we are just sad that we only could book 3 nights.

- Sometimes less warm water during showers(didn’t care about) - food not the best but we can’t compare anything here with 1-2 star Michelin and we eat the food with love.

Tony was a fabulous manager He was so helpful getting us rides from the airport, to Kendwa beach in a tuk tuk and a ride to the cave near Page beach and our next hotel. A good breakfast was included each day. A relaxing pool. It is small, but refreshing. The beach is a very short walk. It is a short walk to the Turtle conservancy area. One of the staff walked us there and made sure we knew the way back. Our room, upstairs, had a great view, was roomy and private. We enjoyed our 2 nights. Thanks. Tony and staff

The instant coffee at breakfast. There should be an upgrade on that.

The staff was excellent! Zainab & Tony amongst the whole team was super nice, professional and just the way you wanted any staff to be. They are simply very nice people. The rooms are like on the pictures, the food was great. Yes, the breakfast could have little more variability after you spend a few days, however it was standard all across Zanzibar. It was always fresh and well prepared. The location was a perfect choice. Central Nungwi compared to Dodoki beach was a noisy, annoying place to go. The Dodoki nearby may be inaccessible during really low tides, but is much more casual, you are not approached every 10 seconds and locals use it as part if they everyday life, which is great to see. The place also countered the realities of blackouts with appropriate equipment. For us it is a perfect stay in Zanzibar. If you wanted to stay completely detached from locals, nature and reality and be served at standards of a Florida resort, probably you should go to an expensive resort, but in such case whats the point of visiting Zanzibar?

Nothing. Really nothing! Maybe some other annoying tourists, but it has nothing to do with the place.
