I took a solo trip to Nungwi and booked at Lighthouse Guest House for the first 3 nights. The place was really comfortable and I would highly recommend for a traveller on a budget. So close to the beach, I would take sunrise tours every morning , this guesthouse is really well priced for a beach front accommodation. I extended my stay to 6 nights because the hospitality from the staff was really out of this world. Yeva , Dula and the other ladies were really amazing hosts. It didn't feel like a solo trip at all because I made friends. The breakfast was healthy and filling. Wifi is fast and works in the rooms, perfect for a digital nomad like myself! I will definitely come back! Loved my stay here!

Zircon would help improve the place. The ceiling fans are not helping much in the heat

We received a very warm welcome at the Lighthouse Guesthouse and felt very comfortable and safe throughout our stay. Our host and all the staff were always very helpful and helped us with all our questions and concerns. The guesthouse is 2 minutes from the beach, which unfortunately has a lot of sea urchins. However, 5 minutes walk away is a very nice part for swimming. There are some good restaurants and bars right on the beach. Our room was clean and equipped with everything you need including bathroom. There are 2 ventilators available in the room. Breakfast was freshly prepared every day and plentiful. Absolutely recommended. 🫶

Breakfast was lovely, everything was clean. The host was awesome & very helpful. The location is perfect for an affordable trip to Nungwi. We spent two nights there, two in Kiwengwa, one in Mangapwani & two in Stone Town. Staying here at the Lighthouse Guesthouse was perfect to visit the Turtle Sanctuary, Mnemba Island & Tumbatu. The internet markets that the sunsets are the best from Nungwi but I thought they were much better in the West.

Wouldn't have changed a thing at the accommodation but a word of advice when staying in this area, only book activities from actual tour operator stands. Freelance guides will probably rip you off or sell something that doesn't exist. Tumbatu Island is a dead reef & we were stung by jellyfish whilst snorkeling. Mnemba Island is a much better option.

Simple nice room, perfectly clean. Location was great, two minutes from the beach. Good restaurants just there. Staff was exceptional, really lovely women, ready to help you with everything. We were happy to use the option of washing our clothes, very good job done. Lots of fresh fruit in the morning. Lovely dog guarding the property from strange men and crows ;-) likes to play in the morning ❤️ We would definitely come again.

Lighthouse Guesthouse is an excellent property, clean, safe to walk around and close to many amenities. Dulla, the host is amazing and really helpful. He always trying to accommodate your needs. You can easily get extra activities booked for a good price. He arrange for me the taxi in the morning for the ferry station and the taxi was on time! Breakfast is excellent. 1 min walk to a beach and less than 10 min walk to the Fish market restaurant (excellent for quality and price). I would recommend going here if you want to be close to the Nungwi beach and Barak turtle aquarium (2min walk from the property). 10 out of 10! Asante Dulla

Lighthouse Guesthouse is walking distance to the beach which was awesome

It's a cosy place and located on the road near the beach. So you don't need to walk at night through those walking trails inside the small village which is further inside at the back of this property. The staff are very friendly and nice. There is also a security man staying there throughout the night. The breakfast was delicious and it is very close to the beach...Everything was clean. WiFi connectivity was fine. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

It would be great if there was an iron and hair dryer in the facilities. In any case there is nothing bad we could say about this property. It was definitely good value for money.
