The staff was great, I really mean it, the owner, Mounir was great in helping us both in the stay time, with buying things, wandering around the places, organizing events, and even after stay time, while on our way back to airport. AC was working in the rooms, and there was hot water too, internet connection was ok. And rooms were big, I mean, really big. We have stayed in house like rooms and they were great in size. We had many great events in our only 3 days stay. Mounir organised dhow tour, snorkeling, went to beach with the other people in the hotel and became like a close group of friends. There were pergolas and a swing to relaxation. A big pergola-like place to have breakfast, even sometimes you can do barbeque as we did one night. Overall experience was great.

And of course nowhere is perfect. There were some bugs, insects in the rooms, it was a big problem for me, since I don't like them at all. Sometimes electricity outage happens, but it's not about the place, it's about the area. The one point I didn't give is because of insects.

Zanzigo is truly an oasis and only thing that was worth for us in of the crazy and loud Nungwi. Mounir, the manager was fantastic, he and the owner Ibrahim went above and beyond to respond to any need we might have - helping with simcard, helping with buying fruits, arranging tours for a good price etc. In a few days we stayed there they became more like friends, than just random business owners. The breakfast was good and all the girls were extremely sweet. The King room interior as well as the garden was fantastic. We also loved the location. We didn't like Nungwi or Kendwa beaches because they were so busy. And also they are quite far from Zanzigo. But if you go to the other side, the east side of the tip, which is very close to Zanzigo, you are in for a paradise! See pictures - beautiful coral beaches (wear reef shoes), fantastic blue water, zero people (we left our stuff unattended and went for a swim). If you keep walking down on the beach, you will find beachfront Sazani Tidal lounge which had wonderful food&snacks for good prices, great music, and was perfect to leave our things in while swimming. We spent the whole day there. All in all, we absolutely loved Zanzigo. And would suggest it anyone. And we will come back for sure!

Cons: -The bungalows do not close from the inside -The size looks bigger online -The walkway to the bathroom from the huts could be better

brekkie is simple and nice. Before check-in, there was free juice. The room was very spacious, exceeding expectations, and it was very close to the beach. The owner recommended dolphin watching and snorkeling. The prices were very reasonable, and there were hardly any mosquitoes. Although the electricity was somewhat unstable, there was plenty of hot water, and the air conditioning was excellent.

The owner Mounir is a fabulous host. Super friendly and helpful. All the other staff are also great. They serve a great breakfast and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable overlooking the garden. The hotel is close to the beach, 5 mins walk and opposite the Acquarium/Zoo. Mounir will help you to organize any transport or tours you're interested in. Definitely a great place to stay!

Mounir the host is super professional, kind, and friendly. Best beaches just near the hotel. I enjoyed the stay, and would return in the future for sure! Plus, the hotel has an open lounge where you can meet other travelers :)

Water shortage is possible, a bit of a walk from the center.

This is an absolutely stunning property with the right room choice <3 Safina and Mounir are some of the gentlest, warm hosts who make you feel at ease and at home. The breakfast included is lovely, and the property has a rustic charm, and plenty of cute kittens, which give it an authentic Zanzibar feel. We also loved the location. Between the West and East coasts of Nungwi, it was easy to access beaches all around - head West if you want a busier vibe and East for more tranquil settings. The King Rooms with Garden views are exceptional. Large, great bathrooms with excellent shower pressure, safes, and air conditioning. We also loved the included breakfasts!

However, the smaller hut-style rooms were not great. One of our roofs leaked, and the bathrooms these rooms share could use some TLC. That said, Mounir and Safina were kind enough to move one of our party with a leaking roof into a garden view room for which she was very happy. So yes, with the right room choice, one of the best experiences we've had!

We spent 7 nights at Zanzigo hotel as we cannot recommend it more! If you’re looking for a well located, cheap, quiet, safe and green place to stay in Zanzibar this is your place. All the bungalows are very spacious with private bathroom and a small patio either chairs and table to smoke or simply to enjoy some piece and quiet! The breakfast is fresh and homemade and includes fruits, eggs, potatoes, toasts and jams which are delicious! But probably the best part of this place is the manager Mounir, he helped us booking all the activities including a visit to a local school! He’s very friendly, patient and always on top of his duties, really polite and lovey man! Very much recommended for your stay in Zanzibar! xx

If I have to mention something it would probably be about the lack of shampoo, soaps ect in the bedroom but rather than that nothing. Everything was great!
