This is situated in the middle of Stone Town but is enclosed with two courtyards and a restaurant. My room was on the third floor. There are plants and coconut palms within the courtyard/ restaurant and a small swimming pool. By the lift is a bookcase with second hand books (I contributed a couple of books). The restaurant was excellent value at dinner and welcoming. My room had a kitchenette. My bed had a mosquito net and I particularly liked the fact that every evening a woman came to sort the mosquito net out, close the windows and spray the room with mosquito killer.

Payment was demanded in cash when I arrived and I was escorted to the nearest ATM which didn't help because I couldn't withdraw the required amount. I was particularly annoyed because I had guaranteed the room with my credit so the money was available. This business with credit cards - it is erratic. One minute cards work and then they don't because of the signal. Television had to be tuned and then I could only get a couple of stations, Africa Today and a channel showing a drama in Arabic. Also at night even if I switched it off, the television light lit up the room.

Breakfast- We were there for six days and I loved how they alternated the buffet breakfast each day. Room- I looooved how our room was cleaned every day and a pack of cookies set out for use every day. This was a really amazing gesture.😊😊😊 Bathroom- The bathroom was spacious. Restaurant and swimming area- These areas looked heavenly, OMG!!!.... I loved loved looooved these two areas, lots of green trees and fresh air. The aesthetics was top notch.💯💯💯 Overall surroundings- If you are looking for a centrally placed location, that will be Antonio's for you. From Antonio's to Freddie Mercury Museum, Forodhani Food Market, Nakupenda and Prison Island departure points, Freddie Mercury Restaurant, Tanzanite Experience, and Stone Town Tour, it is literally just all a walking distance. You simply use Google Maps to check where to go, and within minutes, you are there. The location was 10/10. PRO TIP: If you love to party and are staying at Antonio's, take a taxi or motorbike to CCM, you will have an amazing night😉.

Room- Downside, I did not particularly like that our TV did not have any streaming platform we could log into like Netflix. Bathroom- However, there reached times when it was not so fresh smelling, might be an issue with the drainage. Restaurant- I had been promised that the EPL is aired but when that time came, there was an issue and we didn't get to watch it.

We sayed at the Hotel from 24 Jun to 01 Jul. Excellent location at the heart of Stone Town, very modern yet beautiful traditional decor. 10 mts walk to seafront & all other sights in Stone Town, excellent & sumptuous breakfast, in a garden cum swimming pool setting. has an excellent travel desk, Fatima tours. we did all our tours with them, all private with guide just two of us. More numbers, cheaper per person. did the excellent Stone Town heritage walk, Prison Island, land tortoise farm, Nakupenda sandbar beach with super seafood lunch(combo). Mnembe island for dolphin watching, snorkelling, to see coral & marine life(water is cold in June). Nungwi beach, sea turtle aquarium, superb Sunset cruise from Nungwi. all well organised, good guide. Village Tour & Cave tour, very far away, nothing worth seeing. Avoid it. Instead hire a taxi for full day & see the southern beaches on the East side, like Page beach. plenty of activities in each beach, being far awy not much crowd. value for money restaurant Lakwan, five mts walk from the hotel. we had our Lunches here, when not touring. should finish dinner by 6 PM, preferably 5 PM, as attractive items finish by that time. saw a very good Zanzibar made film at the amphitheatre in Old Fort, at 7 PM, as Intertnational film festival going on. Sea front very good for evening

Inhouse restaurnat for meals very expensive, not suitable for budget traveller. the Night market dinner items, near the seafront, also overrated, expensive. could try once.

I likes The design of The hotel; it was so chick and relaxed. Loved the bar and restaurant surroundings. The staff were really nice and helpful especially at resturant. People responsible for arranging attractions were very good. Loved the comfort of the bed and the strong pressure of water at the shower. However there is a strange smell in the bathroom if you don’t put on the fan ventilator all the time. Location was perfect: love it. Spa service was like no one is attracted to. I did not try it but I think they should do more interactive job here to attract people. In total it was a very nice hotel🙏

Smell in bathroom. Giving more towels as we were two and two towels are not enough. The room card was a problem as we were two and we needed two cards, but they don’t have. This was inconvenient.

The pool was wonderful with towels supplied! A fantastic break from the heat and humidity if exploring Stone Town by foot. The location was wonderful with Lukmans and other restaurants just two blocks away and Forodhani Gardens not far either. The aircon and mosquito net was most appreciated. The bed was clean as was our room and bathroom considering how humid Stone Town can get one would expect more of an issue. There was an umbrella for the rain. The cleaning staff were excellent spraying our room with mosquito repellant daily. And we did get biscuits at turn down. We had a really late check-in and we were accommodated. Charles and the team at the bar/restaurant were so helpful! All the staff we met were just so lovely. Great cocktails at happy hour. We would definitely use Antonio Garden hotel if and when we return to Zanzibar. Very good value for money. Maintenance very helpful when we had a small issue. Oh and a lift for luggage for those not on the ground floor is a plus too.

The WiFi was problematic but I do realise this is more a Zanzibar issue than the hotel issue. Breakfast was good for cereals, bread, parties, coffee, juice, fruit and live station doing eggs but the hot meals could have been a bit more interesting. The safe was locked so we couldn’t use it but we didn’t notify reception to unlock it so that was our own fault.

We loved the location, in Stone Town, close to Bismillah and Lukmaan restaurants, the shoemaker (whom we unexpectadly needed as one shoe broke... he became part of our daily greeting routine, with lovely conversations at his footstep), the Cultural Arts Centre. Close to the ice cream shop, the supermarket and the money exchange that we visited daily. We were really sorted. The rooms were lovely, not huge but the balcony, the kitchennette, the fridge... it all made up. They were comfortable, clean, and really adequate to our needs. We came to visit the place, not to stay in our rooms. But even when we stayed in the rooms, it never felt claustrophobic. It was really comfy. Breakfast was good... the crepes and ongoing eggs station was a highlight, the masala tea, and fruit. The hot breakfast was a bit repetitive and boring, but still tasty. And the breakfast space is lovely. We could sit in that space for a long time... surrounded by trees, the resident cats and the most gentle staff team. The pool is great, too! And we loved the small details the hotel offered, like the departing sachet of spices, or the evening cookies that were left in the room when the team came to spray the rooms and set the mosquito nets. We really felt looked after. Most definitely a place we would return to and that we will recommend.

Everything was good. A word of caution, which I can imagine is not exclusive to this hotel, and it is probably not even linked to the hotel, but... as you enter in the patio Sim cards with data are offfered. We got our sims elsewhere and we found out that the prices were almost half of what we would otherwise have paid...

The hotel was ideally situated in the heart of Stone town. Check-in was swift with no issues and they also allowed us to check-in early free of charge, which was great as we wanted to freshen up before our walking tour. The room was great, a king size bed with an extremely comfortable mattress. Little kitchenette and a fridge/cooler, also had a balcony that overlooked the pool/bar area which was a wonderful surprise. The cocktails at the bar were the freshest and highest quality I came across during my trip. Would highly recommend the passionfruit mojito.

The only small issue with the room was the small amount of space in the bathroom but nothing to majorly concern me or any other future guests.

The staff is super friendly and very helpful, especially the cooks and the waiters/waitresses working with Charles at the restaurant, and Nelson from reception who will quickly solve any small problem you may have. It feels like a family run hotel and a well-managed place, workers are cleaning the outside area all the time for example. As for the hotel itself, very nice room and bathroom, perfectly cleaned daily by the house keeping staff, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast with lot of homemade food, small but nice swimming pool, very pleasant outside restaurant serving quality food especially fish. I stayed there for 1 month, eating at the restaurant every day, and I really enjoyed my stay!

Poor wifi overall, especially in the room. Sometimes a bad smell in the room around 10-11am. The reconstruction of the building in front of the hotel can be a bit noisy at times, it's also taking ages (not much has been done since I was here last year).

I liked the hygiene of the room which was wonderful and indeed it's value for money. The location of the hotel is also great because we were able to reach different places of stone town. The people are wonderful and the security is great for your items are always safe both at the hotel (room) and around the streets.

The food for breakfast needs a slight improvement especially the buffet selection. The elevator at the hotel needs some proper ventilation or airration because it would some times smell like mold. Other wise our entire experience was wonderful

The location was perfectly situated right in the middle of Stone Town. The service was impeccable, with people always available to handle any need that arose. The breakfast offered traditional and tasty dishes and was served in a very well designed outdoor bar area.

The bathroom sink was not mounted and sealed well and moved, pulling the drain away from the wall. This left a puddle on the bathroom floor. It was quickly cleaned and replaced when it happened, but it needs to be repaired. Also the shower base needs to be recalled. It leaks onto the bathroom floor.
